Looks really good! My only complaint is the arm clipping at the end
EDIT: it's fixed
@GoTi4No well wouldn’t it be weird seeing one of your co-workers phased through a door and act like its nothing?
Also, it’s called criticism.
also his feet are sliding around so its really obvious like someone thats got full body tracking in vr chat
@@dutchdeluxe69 And notice the shadow that appears right after the mocap animation ends. Really takes you out of it.
I think that's because the person who di the mocap is slimmer or because of Barney's thicc vest.
Damn. This looks really good. It's a shame there was no mocap for characters in the base game. The animations from 2004 never looked right with the new models.
Looks great! My only suggestion might be to make him sound like he’s struggling a bit so the door feels like it has weight. Perhaps rerecording his “We’ve been having problems…” line so he says it as he’s pushing rather than waiting for the animation to finish to trigger.
That's a good idea
Great job! Looks a little wonky at times but sure you'll fix it! A cool implementation of modern day tech
Smooth and butter. Finally!
A very satisfying click when he finally gets the door proper open
Much better than the original animation. Looking forward to this!
wow, this looks so much better and more natural than the current one, amazing work !
Looking better!
Better, by a lot. Good job!
That looks much better than the original.
looks good, but those guards really need new models, the proportions are way off
it's not model's fault. Motion capture with that quality should be used only as a reference, so collective will remade animations to make them look better in the future. Well, I think so at least, I'm no expert and no part of collective
@@stehouse do you think we really will use it as a reference? It will be just a waste of time, motion capture doesn’t work like this. It needs polishing and fixing, but remaking it and using as a reference... nah.
this is actually a great work, way better than blocking placeholder.
but every time, when i see a pure motion capture, i having a sinister valley effect. I mean, it is good, but need more polish. Anyway, keep it up! You making a good thing
The incredibly smooth mocap animation contrasted with the default walking animation immediately after
Would probably look better with new models or some tweaking, but it's not bad at all! need more work though obviously.
cool, which kinect did you use? 360 or xbox one kinect? was it only one or did you use multiple kinects? cause i want to buy a kinect but i can't decide between the one or the 360
we used xbox Kinect, yeah
@@lilpif337 What the...
Bruh, you can't do shit with kinect, you need real mocap equipment
really promising stuff! keep up the good work, guys ❤️
make sure you get an animator to fix the arm clipping! ive done mocap before and about half of it is animateing the parts that glitch out manualy, raw mocap data is usualy not that great! otherwise great work!
it's a start
Its always weird singing full motion capture in source games, im more used to the janky movements lol
it looks so much better than the now janky looking Source animations
Amazing!
amazing
Barney Calhoun is the best. He is cool dude!
mocap wow. What mocap system you guys used?
xbox kinect
yeah, haha.. we can't afford one of these mocap suits.
@@lilpif337 Looked like a steamvr tracking to me. Kinect performs quite good xd
i wouldn't use a fist for that
more the open hand for that
btw, him just beeing soo normal about just pushing the door open
and not even agnowleging it, is kinda strange
Looks like a gta iv animation
This is the XBOX Kinect thing, isnt it.
Did you guys use Vive tracking? I'm really curious how the process works
See? Motion capture doesn't suit for source engine games, it looks off
Круто что это Русские делают
