    I really don't agree with a lot of things you said but I guess this is a decent video if you're like a super super beginner with ar11.
    Personally I learned ar11 to farm #1s and felt it to be more of a test of memorization and predicting patterns and rhythms (basically flashlight 2). It's a VERY motivating way to play the game because having #1s is obv cool as fuck, especially if you have zero at the moment like I did a few months ago. Also a lot of songs I like have low star maps that I wouldn't have touched otherwise, so ar11 gives it a unique challenge that doesn't make me feel bored. Though idk if newgen 5-6 digits are interested in that sort of thing.
    I personally would have focused more on the memorization and pattern predicting part of ar11 but I don't think you went for many FCs or high accuracy plays and focused more on learning pure reading so maybe I'm biased. Sytho mentioned how retry spamming helps a lot in his own ar11 guide and I completely agree since it allows you to understand map general map structures and develop muscle memory (like how triples are often on downbeats or building muscle memory to comfortably read and hit stacks while alting). Also I really wish you would have mentioned how much easier od6 with 3 mod is than od7+, od11 is absolutely brutal especially for beginners and I'd honestly tell anyone starting to just ignore any od11 maps.

    • @ferryhmm
      @ferryhmm  11 месяцев назад

      I mean I did mention OD in the video as something I barely paid attention to.
      Regarding retry spamming, yeah, it was something that I was specifically trying to avoid, because I wanted to learn sightreading AR11. Retryspamming doesn't sound that fun to me. Ironically I did end up retry spamming cold green eyes however, so I guess there is that lol

    • @thesaltyspoon7483
      @thesaltyspoon7483 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@ferryhmmye im pretty autistic so retrying hard maps for hours to get #1 is really enjoyable. It’s especially fun on maps with songs I like.
      Also it doesn’t make much sense, this retrying made me better at sightreading similar maps. Sytho said retrying “helps you apply muscle memory from one map to another” and at first I thought bruh that makes no sense but I finally get it now

    • @ferryhmm
      @ferryhmm  Год назад +4

      It‘s not my base reaction time. Later in the video I go to explain that my average during those 10 days was around 170-180. 155ms was what I got before those 10 days though (but it was a one-off occurrence). I think if you’re about my rank, then anything under 200ms will be fine and I’m pretty sure most gamers should be able to achieve that on good hardware. This is all just me bro-sciencing though. If AR11 is too daunting for you, you can also try AR10.87 first (AR7 + DTHR), which gives you 15ms more. It‘s probably the best introduction to high AR, as most of those maps are in the 4* range. In any case, don‘t let reaction time discourage you, there is so much more that goes into AR11. In the end, the only way to know for sure, is to try it out and see what happens :)

    as a 4 digit who suddenly learned Ar11, you kind of just pickup on the speed when you play high AR.
    One thing to note is 3mod AR11 is highly overweighted, so learning Ar11 will help a lot to farm.

  • @Neuling1842
    @Neuling1842 11 месяцев назад +2

    You should honestly try doing the opposite. I feel really low ar is much the same as higher ar and at a certain point they seem to overlap. Yes, you see the circles early, but you have to sort them alongside the upcoming circles which takes a stupendous amount of training until you can do it consistently. I see people who play AR 0 much the same as people playing AR 11.

  • @oke3082
    @oke3082 11 месяцев назад +1

    I play HR in 6 digit tournaments so the ar is not reaching 11, but it really helped me with those 2 medals that require ar11, to be fair i think I just memorised the map over 500 attempts but still it feels good hitting those fast circles. The 120hz monitor definitely helps, it just feels better than my old 60hz one

    Cool video. honestly i would recommend doing this test again when you're at LEAST high 5 digit, because this early on in the game you will see no difference no matter how much you practice the game. You truly need to get a feel for the game and a consistency needs to be achieved where you can comfortably aim and read almost any map before you can see any differences in reaction time. As an example, its like putting someone into a rocket league game for the first time and telling them they need to learn how to do something VERY mechanical ins the first month. They don't have the true experience to even properly learn a mechanic, so they most likely will have lackluster results. Again, come back to this idea when youre maybe 20-30k and see if there's newer results, im in full support of that idea

    • @ferryhmm
      @ferryhmm  Год назад +9

      Lmao I’m by no means early in the game, I‘ve been playing since 2015 and have almost 1k hours haha
      In the end, while obviously I‘m not a proficient high-ar player and there is still so many areas I can still improve in, I just thought it would be fun to try. And yeah, I feel pretty comfortable maining 3-mod now. Obviously I still have a long way to go to be able to consistently set plays, but I‘m sure my mechanics will catch up. Even if it‘s gonna take a while, it‘s still fun as hell. And tbf being able to say, that I main 3-mod at my rank range is kinda cool :p

    AR11 is the combination of reading, fingercontrol and raw aim speed.
    You can react the circles easily in AR11 the aim and tap part is the difficult one, that is why your aim is not snappy
    Raw aim speed is needed when you don't memorize the map at all, since you have around 50-80ms (150-120ms reaction time) to aim the circle depending on your reading speed
    Fast fingercontrol adaptation is also coming from either the song or reading
    For example: if it's an obvious jump map you can predict the jump parts to tap them and you only have to focus on the aim part, or if you know the song you can predict the triples and bursts.
    Sidenote:
    Playing low bpm maps with low note density could be just followpoint reading, so I would recommend deleting the followpoints from your skin if you wan't to learn the AR11 circle reading. Overall the followpoint focused AR11 reading is a lot easier, since it has a longer appear time and appears lot earlier than the note itself.
    Overall, pretty good video and very good reading for a 6 digit player

      @ferryhmm  11 месяцев назад +1

      And yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you‘re saying. I actually touched on most of that stuff in the original script, but sadly had to cut it out, because otherwise the video would have been too long :/

    I think a much slower progression would work better. Like you play every 0.1 for a week, or until you feel 100% comfortable with it if it's going well. Maybe plan to take longer on the higher values since as you get closer to your limit, each step is effectively larger despite being 'only' 0.1 each time. But it's also very unfun to limit yourself to one thing for long periods of time.
    The point is to bridge the gap between comfortable play and stress play, I think you can only say you can properly read AR11 if it doesn't always hinder your aim and accuracy compared to an AR you're comfortable with.

      I actually mention this at 13:00! Though tbf, it‘s still kind of random, because there were some alt (low bpm) maps that I could play quite well on AR11 compared to higher bpm maps. BPM and AR is a super complicated thing, I might make a video on it in the future.

      i have ~800 hours in ar11 and a pretty long time ago low bpm just became generally easier to read than high bpm(high bpm being harder on high sr maps). it's really only specific complex patterns and 1/6 notes that matter. high cs (7.8+) can give a similar feeling though, since there's much more unpredictable space.

    A perfect example of how and why ar11 is so much easier to watch than to play is that people on osu droid are pushing ar11.3 even on 60fps and more input lag (around 100ms) because it is easier and faster to aim every note so they have a larger window to process it than on stable

Especially if a person's diction is not perfectly set, as well as if his recording was made on a low-quality microphone.
    In addition, with the RUclips function for auto-translation of subtitles, it will be very easy for those who do not know English well to watch the video, but it will work well only in the case of manual subtitles. Because he does not create automatic ones correctly. This is a little advice for the future.

Also having to relearn AR9 does sound kinda fun to me, so I honestly wouldn't mind it that much xD

    • @ferryhmm

      Yup. AR12 essentially means you only get 150ms to react, which I am 100% sure is humanly impossible. However, I am curious about what the human limit is. I estimate it to be somewhere around 11.3-11.5.

      I was talking quite a bit slower in my older vids, but tbh I feel more comfortable talking a bit faster and it also makes for better pacing of the vid (it‘s already +14min long and would have probably been +20min if I talked slower). I will try to put more effort into talking more clearly though!
