For example, Decode is a well known 1.9 level, and Acu is a well known modern level. And yet, people have recreated Acu with Decode decoration (see "Acu, but styled like decode" by Alk1m123). Styles are purely aesthetic; some gameplay might have correlation to levels that employ said styles, but GD styles are not defined by gameplay.

Made by most of the same creators of Next Cab Soon btw. Astralith is much closer to the art levels than something like And Ever (you can see this by the level of detail and the texturing). - The separation between tech and art doesn't seem all defined here. Xender boss levels share so many similarities to White Space, but you put them in different categories. Although to be honest, I feel like a lot of these levels kind of just transcend their own categories anyways. - I'd put levels like HOW and WHAT closer to effect, maybe experimental effect is a good way to put it. - Honestly, I'd cut "simple" modern style some slack. The time it takes to make doesn't necessarily equate to the level of quality. There are some really good simple modern levels too, like Qubb's catalogue, Lyeo, optical's levels. Ironically, realistic style is definitely E tier for me, despite most people loving that style. I'm the kind of guy that prefers gameplay more than decoration, and though realistic styles are impressive, their lack of readability and usually boring gameplay just brings it down so so much for me.
I think you need to make a distinction between decoration style and level style. I noticed how you included categories such as "art" and "realism" which applies solely to decoration whereas categories such as "minigame" and "nine circles" can exist as essentially any decoration style.
the tech u described is what i would call “modern tech”… the more classic tech style stemmed from ~2017, with most prominent tech creators belonging to an old group called Xenocosm. you can find some tech works by the creators Xyanide, Deovise, and Sequex. Necromancer is entirely decorated in the tech style. one look at it and youll see how detail-intensive it is and why it never took off…
Poocubed is a cute modern level tho Nine Circles levels are the best levels ever and they make the wave very fun. Also playing wave based levels like NC levels allowed me to progress in the game very quickly (since October last year) and now my hardest is Aquatic Auroras. How ever even tho I wanna move on to Rigel and Cosmic Cyclone I am too bored by the game to play them so the last time I played a NC extreme was in January Also please do more ratings!!!
3d line art (or 2003devin style) is for me always gonna be the best style of deco. You can basically treat the game like a pencil and paper and do whatever the fuck you want to. Normal art levels are also great as hell, but there is already ALOT of them. I feel like 3d line art style needs to be used more, like in my favorite level "Strange relationships", most of it is normal art, but the parts with 3d line art are genuienly fucking perfect.

For most of them, i think how they are done is really important, for example i really like rust but not most levels of the same style. Its not even just about plain quality either its about how the level feels visually, which isnt too consistent within different styles

The king of the coco crabs. Spiked coconuts are a delicacy which King Krob keeps all to himself. His special move is his signature "full-body attack" where he launches his entire body at you. Highly respected among the coco crabs, but despised by everyone else.
1.0 style is high B tier imo, it can show a lot of expression and its always cool to see what people could do if they had more unique gameplay aspects (more orbs, more gamemodes, move triggers, etc) back then. i also love xo and every end.
While I do disagree with some placements, I have to respect your list. I think there isin't either a subjective or objective best level style, as in my opinion, what matters the most is how well executed the style is.

YES. Completely agree with your take on Modern levels, I cannot stand them. It's literally just the same copy pasted level over and over again. It feels factory mass produced and made to appeal to the general population, because that's exactly what it is. It's like the Drake and Taylor Swift of GD levels. All the movements feel the same in every single one of them and feel just as lifeless, there's usually hardly any design, it's just solid colors (and maybe if you're lucky, it'll have just a tiny bit of design, wow!!), even the colors feel the same in each one of them, and don't even get me STARTED on the abysmal custom portals and orbs and pads, goddamn. People say they look "clean" but to me, clean just means factory produced samey-old soulless level design, and that's exactly how I feel about modern levels. No soul put in them, no thought put to them, no personality in them, just made to become famous and popular. Change my mind.
As a nine circles enjoyer, i would say yeah, there is not that much good nc gp in lower difficulty, but when talking about extreme demon there's much more fun one to play, but sadly easy extreme nc level does not exist tho

if you look at most of their big projects (aka extremes) it's 90% just glow glow glow, you took like the only exception.
