When I think of how rock star should look. I immediately think of Robert Plant. He had the whole package, looks, charisma, intelligence, hair, body and between 68-72 had the best voice in rock ever. It’s untouchable IMO. Greatest frontman from the greatest band.
John DiMaggio severely. He managed to maintain a voice that was good. But his voice in the first 4 years of zeppelin was unmatched. However, what led to such decline so fast was improper training, constant recording and touring. Lack of rest. So on. He also had nodes on his chords and never was the same after
Tyler Toscano I disagree, did you not get Celebration Day or download it? I think ( now this is is only my opinion ) His voice sounds great! But your listen
TIffanyrose Angeles I had acknowledged that I liked his voice post 72. “He managed to maintain a good voice”. Celebration day was fantastic. I’m just saying he would not dare reach his prime because he unfortunately did irreversible damage early on. Especially to his depth and high register.
As a singer myself I have to agree with you. From 68' to 72', Robert Plant was the best singer in the world. He had a great tone, range, could sing with great distortion or very gently. Unfortunatetly, after 1972 his voice declined for the reasons @Tyler Toscano said. The early days of Zeppelin paved the way for many many rock bands and Plant set the standards of what a rock singer had to be. It is not by mistake that Robert Plant is one of Freddie Mercury's main influences as a rock singer and many consider Freddie the best singer ever. Of course Mercury developed into a different style, more operatic influenced, but the early days of Queen you can see the influences of Plant. In my opinion, no one has yet beaten Plant from that time period, even Mercury. Although music is not a competition.
This is without a doubt, the very best Robert Plant interview ever. The older he gets, the more open and honest he gets. He’s still as sharp as a tack and hasn’t forgotten anything about his storied past. This is definitely one for the ages.
@Steven Graham False. It's one thing to say that you are the greatest ever (RS). It's quite another when everyone else says it (LZ). Charlie Watts vs. Bonzo? Page vs. Richards? Plant vs. Jagger? JPJ Vs. Ron wood? Yes, it is a competition, and all of the guys above would tell you the same. The stones were good up until about 1970 (the blues and psychedelic era was great for them), around when Brian Jones died. They continued to make absolutely meaningless material after that (it's a double edged sword to survive for so long).
@@lukasrydelius6174 led zeppelin is my favorite band but the stones made sticky fingers, exile on main street, some girls, goats head soup and tattoo you after 1970. All really good and famous albums, some people call sticky fingers and exile on main street their best albums. Also you cant compare single members vs each other. There are really skilled musicians today that are much better at their instruments than any member of led zeppelin but cant make music for shit. Also keep in mind that when the rolling stones member begun learning their instrument there was no one who would play the same music. Znus Wumriken sure “really good” albums, thats cool. What you said was true, but you didn’t say much besides “the stones are good”, which they are (were). Zep brought RUTHLESS POWER, and TIMELESS sounds that could fool you into thinking the songs were written centuries ago (stairway to heaven, battle of evermore). Zep will bring chills to and through your bones time and time again...The first 3 songs on exile sound the same, i just checked to make sure, it’s good lounge level rock that is good for background music in movies, or when you have a few buddies on your pontoon. Good, now we are getting somewhere. Oh, you want to compare the band as a whole? Sure, take any member out of zep and the whole thing falls apart. Lets talk about live shows. Zep broke records for revenue in live shows, that means beattles and stones. Played for 3hrs plus, and remain the all time greatest live band, improv, tight but loose. And by the way, zep was a 4pc, not 5 and they brought more interesting, original material then the others. Theres a reason people spend more time trying to replicate zeps sound (greta van fleet) than the stones. And when someone does do it, you KNOW it cause of zeps original sound, not the generic rock and roll sound of the stones. And by the way, beattles? You can tell from the early interviews that led zeppelin wasn't just some fly by night group. Even at that young age, they were articulate and intelligent in the way that they presented during their interviews.
A true 70's rock god, however much he dismisses it...and he still is awesome, if quieter! Brilliant interview. Robert is so articulate and playfully profound...so honest and yet understated. A natural Welsh bard/mystic fusion:) One of my real musical heroes, forever.
@@jtinners4317Yes, I know he's a black country man, but I'm using poetic license...his archetype is a mystic...he looks and writes and speaks like a bard from Wales to me.
I could listen to Robert talk about music all day. He’s got such great taste in music and has turned me on to musicians that might have otherwise never of. Thanks Robert for expanding my musical horizons :)
Robert plant was my hero performer growing up and now I marvel at how he's turned out. He really seems like a great guy. It's nice to see a guy who made it to enjoy life after all those fast times. I also know he suffered from one of the worst tragedies ever, which I won't mention.
I know what tragedy he went through. He wanted to stop then and become a teacher. Just living that rock and roll life, yes , he's done well. He and Jimmy Page, who really surprisingly are doing well. I still love them!
When I was in 5th grade (1974) we had show n tell. A fellow student brought in a record, put it on the record player and out from the 3 inch speaker we hear “Hey hey mama said the way you move Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove”...the immediately yelled “TAKE THAT OFF”...I’ve been hooked ever since.
When he first met John Bonham as a kid ...John told him " you're going to go places, but you won't get there without me " ...turned out to be true ,they walked a million miles together
He is still a beautiful, intelligent and respected man...Love his great head of hair and aloquent voice...Such interesting man .....Love Led Zeppelin music..love
You know that Robert is more fascinating off stage at least to me. I could listen and listen to him forever. He so very intelligent. What I love the very best is his heart and soul. Peace and Love, Jan
IVE yet to hear the interview!! It's quite a long one so I want to make sure I'm all set before I listen so I can give it the concentration it deserves!😊🎉
I discovered Led Zeppelin at age 44 thanks to my adult son. I can’t believe I went through all my younger years without hearing their music. I would of been even more fun as a teen and young adult 😉
I love Robert, such a great interview, we are so lucky to have media like this in 2020, they were so mysterious to us growing up. He is such a typical Leo man, I love his jewelry still wearing turquoise, as I do❤️
Since I've been loving you. That high note he hits " aahh makes it a drag" after Jimmy s sizzling solo, is THE most right on heart moving wail on vinyl! Led Zep iii. Love the whole album and it should be listened to beginning to end
The fact that he not only name drops so many interesting musicians, but also knew them or admired various forms of music is kinda cool and man, what a life he's led and continues to do so...Kudos to you, our Golden God!
It's interesting cuz I got into the Zeps in 1976 and even bought a double neck guitar and a Les Paul copy, had LZ posters on my wall growing up and not far from their age and yet I look at this interview and not only is he very articulate but I LOVE that he's avoided botox or any of that stuff. He looks and sounds great.
As the new generation reacts to Led Zeppelin's music of the 60's and 70's....they are awed and inspired by the raw and authenticity of the instruments and vocals of Robert Plant...graze for the rawness in today's music......more feeling ...less technique.
Such a treasure is this humble, intelligent rock god. We're so fortunate that he's still happy to sit and discuss music from his past and present lives. And he's still Hot as heck.
Articulate, thoughtful, knowledgeable and respectful. And we haven’t even touched on his genius talent. What a guy Robert is❤️💕Robert’s thoughts about the hippie and youth era in the early 1970s is just as relevant today with the scamdenic and politics.
He is only 5 yrs older than me, in high school went crazy for led zep like everyone did back then. Robert has done so much more since then too, loved the honeydrippers one of my fav songs is BIG LOG among many others. Always great music you! Robert your a good man! Wish I could know you! I def know your music! 💝 wishing you the best life and a long life thank you for the music of my generation! We had the best music ever!
Great interview. I love to hear Robert speak. He is so candid, very Frank andso down to earth. You might think that getting older for a rockstar like him would be difficult. I'm sure there are times when he looks back and thinks of the good old days. But he can look back with pride and the knowledge that Led Zeppelin accomplished so much and touched the lives of so many people. It has to be a great feeling to look back and know that you have influenced the lives of so many people in a positive, even spiritual way.
With the insight and wisdom of an 11 year old I told anyone that would listen, Zep was destined for greatness. At 11 I bought Led Zep 1. I'm very happy for Robert Jimmy and Paul sad about John. I am a little jealous though. Not that he's cool has a great voice or that he was part of rocks royalty. I'm jealous because he's happy and he got to live a wonderful life. Wish we all could look back and be so happy...
This is such a great interview with such a thoughtful person. Great interview too that seems to avoid too many cliches but of all the interview (and there's lots of great stuff here) the interviewer asks "do you think music can still change the world?" I hung on Plant's response and he came out with a total cracking pearler that really has so much insight "No, I think it's a panacea". Well there you go to all the rock stars that think you can change the world, I mean good on you for trying, but I love Robert's realistic response here. He cites the early blues music as being life changing but thank god someone finally says 'no we're rock stars' not deities. He's so articulate and insightful and love the Being There reference. Best rock star interview I've ever had the pleasure to hear.

Emotion over technique explains where i simply find myself vocally now..and i just continue to saturate myself in music..im getting pretty famous with my friends from dropping obscure tracks that grabs their attention as they grab their tea or coffee in the morning..im still a student of life and Robert has been a beautiful template and mirror for me🍋💎🌞💜🎸🗝🎤🎻🎼🍦🍒
Out of all the Rock giants, Led Zepp and Robert Plant have always given me the most thrilling enjoyment and energy than any of the others. Robert's creative vocal and poetic songwriting gifts really made it happen! Over the years I've enjoyed playing and singing Stairway to Heaven quite a bit on the piano. Robert looks nice but I think if he brings out more of his distinguishable thick hair (without too many ointments to weigh it down) then it could really enhance. He's always been handsome though! God bless Robert Plant, from Roberta of California. ❤
I love this man! I love Led Zeppelin listen to it every morning on my way to work. Love Robert Plants voice, and Jimmy Page guitarist. They are two of the best, besides the rest of the band and now John Bonham's son.
My favourite singer. He knows everything about old blues and rock and roll. Bob is a legend. I have luck to saw him here in Brazil two times. May God bless you. Whole lotta Zeppelin.

I watched Led Zeppelin play a show on 8/15/1969, in San Antonio Texas. I was sixteen years old. My mom gave me a ride to the auditorium. The band was fantastic, never will i forget that concert.
A true musical genius who had the courage to change the course of his infamous band Led Zeppelin, and embark on new genres of music. I rarely get a crush on a musician, but damn it, Robert Plant would make me blush if ever I were to meet him. ☮️🎼❤️
Robert Plant is fascinating ,his stories about many experiences are amusing. It is the joy of musical bands all over the world that is so interesting to me. He has a natural way of engaging and sharing with others his love of music and is a natural story teller. A true gentle, thoughtful human being. I'm so glad that he has been in the right place at the right time. I will always be grateful for the music in his years with Led Zeppelin, my favorite time in my life. Thank you Robert Plant for all you give for us to appreciate. X
Spent a little time with Bobby aka kid rock. One thing I know I can say about him is this he is a fan. He has the deepest respect and devotion to rock artists. He can sit with an acoustic guitar and play all night. And he can really play and sing. Something to see.
Good im happy to see my favorite rockers ever still alive and strong your song is very memorable that is your contribution songs in the world very best
People always say Planty denies all they stories of Led Zep. He doesn’t remember and NOT because of the reasons your thinking. It’s sadly because of a car accident that took his memory. Well maybe a little because of the other... He is very special, even at his age he’s still got it. Very impressive man....

I've loved Zep for over 40 years. My wife is a Steiner teacher, I know what Robert's talking about. I had a breakfast chat with JPJs daughetrs once, they were lovely. Cindy was in a band in Bristol when we were just starting with my mate Dan, they were called 'Skintrade,' they weren't together long. I saw a solo performance when she was going through a Sinead phase. She and her sister regilarly attend Sore Finger Summer School, a bluegrass event with their dad sometimes.
When I first got into Zeppelin's albums , back when I didn't know much about the individual members of the band, I assumed that they shared vocal duties on different songs like the Beatles . Plant could sound like an entirely different singer at times. I thought the guy singing Black Dog cannot be the same guy singing Fool in the Rain

You can tell from the early interviews that led zeppelin wasn't just some fly by night group. Even at that young age, they were articulate and intelligent in the way that they presented during their interviews.
A man with a heart ❤️ full of soul and unique voice 🎤
A true 70's rock god, however much he dismisses it...and he still is awesome, if quieter! Brilliant interview. Robert is so articulate and playfully profound...so honest and yet understated.
A natural Welsh bard/mystic fusion:)
One of my real musical heroes, forever.
REAL TALENTED PEOPLE ARE NOT NARCISSISTIC ANDREW MY FRIEND. STAY SAFE😃
Well-said, Andrew! :)
He doesn’t dismiss it. He actually jokes about it.
Andrew Forrest agree with all you said.....but he’s not Welsh! Lol
@@jtinners4317Yes, I know he's a black country man, but I'm using poetic license...his archetype is a mystic...he looks and writes and speaks like a bard from Wales to me.
We love you Robert Plant
Keep Rockin!
From Texas
What a man candy
He lives in Austin lol
He used to, but he broke up with his girlfriend Patti.
@@avalondreaming1433 damn that sucks
@@ojacob3591 Yes, I wish that he'd stayed in Texas.
I never grow tired of listening to Robert, no matter what the topic is.
I could listen to Robert talk about music all day. He’s got such great taste in music and has turned me on to musicians that might have otherwise never of. Thanks Robert for expanding my musical horizons :)
👍 I totally agree with you!
l just like the way he speaks .l like that Wales accent ,it sounds so different
I could listen to Robert Plant read a shopping list all day long tbh 😋🥰
@@nightflight1454 not a big deal, but he doesn’t have a Welsh accent. It’s a midlands accent (Birmingham area).
I think he is one of the most charming, deeply fascinating men I’ve ever seen (and alway mischief in those eyes)....... and even more so now 💕
Robert plant was my hero performer growing up and now I marvel at how he's turned out. He really seems like a great guy. It's nice to see a guy who made it to enjoy life after all those fast times. I also know he suffered from one of the worst tragedies ever, which I won't mention.
@Dead Planet How do you know, did satan tell you?
@Dead Planet Cool guy, that Jones.Dared to join those satan worshippers in 2007 concert. What a Black Celebration it was.
@Dead Planet so you're just purposely stupid then
I know what tragedy he went through. He wanted to stop then and become a teacher. Just living that rock and roll life, yes , he's done well. He and Jimmy Page, who really surprisingly are doing well. I still love them!
Two, and a car wreck..💔
When I was in 5th grade (1974) we had show n tell. A fellow student brought in a record, put it on the record player and out from the 3 inch speaker we hear “Hey hey mama said the way you move
Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove”...the immediately yelled “TAKE THAT OFF”...I’ve been hooked ever since.
Robert Plant, the Led Zeppelin’s voice. Unique, inimitable, incomparable. His presence on the stage is unforgettable. The Golden God!
And on the 3rd day,the rock gods,
Created "led zeppelin"
When he first met John Bonham as a kid ...John told him " you're going to go places, but you won't get there without me " ...turned out to be true ,they walked a million miles together
I get upset hearing God, in any context when talking about Robert Plant! There's only one God! He created R. PLANT! ❤
He is still a beautiful, intelligent and respected man...Love his great head of hair and aloquent voice...Such interesting man .....Love Led Zeppelin music..love
All things considered, the guy actually looks pretty good for his age. And sounds good. I'm glad we still have him on Earth.
You know that Robert is more fascinating off stage at least to me. I could listen and listen to him forever. He so very intelligent. What I love the very best is his heart and soul. Peace and Love, Jan
He is so obviously a well read man. Those are few and far between these days.
I love seeing him so high def! I could listen to him talk all day! I love Robert and his legacy in music.
I agree. His music, voice and band (Led Zeppelin) captivated me in the mid 80's when I was turned onto them at age 14. Changed my life
Robert Plant is a Rock and Roll Legend !
Musician & human
The Golden God!!!
Not just led but his solo career
as well
Yes..like Pictures at Eleven !
It was an awesome time to be alive. Led Zep made it surreal. :)
How did you not know about it ? were you a kid in the 70s ?
You can see how he loved sharing his stories! What a delightful story teller ❤️
Great interview. Robert is so humble for being such a super star. It's great to see how humble he is today, after all he has done and seen
I love Robert, such a great interview, we are so lucky to have media like this in 2020, they were so mysterious to us growing up. He is such a typical Leo man, I love his jewelry still wearing turquoise, as I do❤️
He is on the cusp of Leo/ Virgo. I find him to have the traits of a Virgo. ❤️
Robert looks so fresh. What a humble gentleman he is.
Since I've been loving you. That high note he hits " aahh makes it a drag" after Jimmy s sizzling solo, is THE most right on heart moving wail on vinyl! Led Zep iii. Love the whole album and it should be listened to beginning to end
Such an eloquent, thoughtful man. Nobody does it better. Lovely interview 👏 x
The fact that he not only name drops so many interesting musicians, but also knew them or admired various forms of music is kinda cool and man, what a life he's led and continues to do so...Kudos to you, our Golden God!
He's aged so well, he STILL looks like a badass!
I know! So many naysayers years ago saying the opposite, but look at the close ups in this. Almost 72 and looks fantastic.
He’s extremely handsome
It's interesting cuz I got into the Zeps in 1976 and even bought a double neck guitar and a Les Paul copy, had LZ posters on my wall growing up and not far from their age and yet I look at this interview and not only is he very articulate but I LOVE that he's avoided botox or any of that stuff. He looks and sounds great.
He aged fine
But he aged really fast in the late 70s to the late 80s tbh
Poor man, his son's death may have contributed much to his aging
As the new generation reacts to Led Zeppelin's music of the 60's and 70's....they are awed and inspired by the raw and authenticity of the instruments and vocals of Robert Plant...graze for the rawness in today's music......more feeling ...less technique.
Feeling More..
Such a treasure is this humble, intelligent rock god. We're so fortunate that he's still happy to sit and discuss music from his past and present lives. And he's still Hot as heck.
I want to sit down with him, have a pint or two and listen to him talk for hours. Seriously for hours. 🍻
Me tooo that would be very cool ☝️😉🌹
Hours, thats at least 2h, that makes 4-6 pints
@@jarmopaakkonen2045 same thought i had... You be quite thirsty after about an hour. Lol
Do you seriously want to?
That would be one of my wishes if I discovered a magic lamp.
Wonderful interview .... thank you Robert Plant, you are a very special and beautiful man ... xxx
На фото с родителями Роберту 1 годик. Правую ручку держит как пианист. Знак музыкальной будущей жизни. Thank You.
Articulate, thoughtful, knowledgeable and respectful. And we haven’t even touched on his genius talent. What a guy Robert is❤️💕Robert’s thoughts about the hippie and youth era in the early 1970s is just as relevant today with the scamdenic and politics.
Sir Robert has always been very underrated as a solo artist. The diversity and versatility in his solo studio work is simply phenomenal.
I remember laughter 🇺🇸☕🍀🎩🚀
He seems like genuinely lovely man.
I'm digging Plants knowledge and openness of music
Robert Plant is my favorite singer - before with Led Zeppelin and his continued solo career. He is so talented and amazes me still.
Слушаю это видео третий раз, привыкая к английскому языку, на котором я немножко говорила до 1980 в университете Thank You.
IAM just so amazed still to this day over this man .If I had one wish ,it would be to meet him .Im so I love with him ,for real.
He is the absolute most intriguing man....I think im in love with ROBERT PLANT..😆
He definitely mellowed over the years and dropped the ego. Which i always thought was an act anyway. I hope he found inner peace.
Mr. Plant. You are amazing. I am lucky to have Led Zeppelin in my life
I love ❤️ listening to Robert Plant 🌱 - push push push.
An absolute gentleman and a true artist, I have much love for this man
I looooove the way he speaks

What a living legend he is. I was born 2 decades to late; would have LOVED to have seen Zeppelin at its peak!
Hate the word ointment or moist or squat cringy I dunno..
So eloquent, articulate, reflective, intelligent and respectful, Robert Plant spoke intimately about music and festivals. He is still our Golden God.
Love him his voice reaches Into my soul .
I love this man! I love Led Zeppelin listen to it every morning on my way to work. Love Robert Plants voice, and Jimmy Page guitarist. They are two of the best, besides the rest of the band and now John Bonham's son.
Robert you will ALWAYS be Legend.
Claude Nobs did more for 70's music in Europe than most truly recognize. Pleasure hearing this interview.
❤️I really like this guy. Of course, bloody good singer and the band(s) he plays with.🤗☀️💖
My favourite singer. He knows everything about old blues and rock and roll. Bob is a legend. I have luck to saw him here in Brazil two times. May God bless you. Whole lotta Zeppelin.
I could listen to Robert for hours and hours he is so articulate and well rounded human being I have seen would love to have a spot of tea and just listen to him I love led zeppelin with all my heart John Bonham was my hero he made me love drumming and music
Robert Plant first crush❤️born and die a rocker

Robert Plant is the greatest singer EVER!
Love this guy always growing and so honest and intelligent ❣️
What an amazing interview. Robert Plant, thank you. Endless respect and love.
Love listening to him - he is so intelligent and fluid in English - must have a high
I Q - love his voice - love him❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍
I watched Led Zeppelin play a show on 8/15/1969, in San Antonio Texas. I was sixteen years old. My mom gave me a ride to the auditorium. The band was fantastic, never will i forget that concert.
Robert Plants memory is unbelievably awesome…….. His lifestyle certainly didn’t disrupt his synapses…. Very intelligent man; such interesting stories!
They came to Iceland in June 1970 and thrilled the young ones. Led Zeppelin the greatest Rock and Roll band ever.
A true musical genius who had the courage to change the course of his infamous band Led Zeppelin, and embark on new genres of music. I rarely get a crush on a musician, but damn it, Robert Plant would make me blush if ever I were to meet him. ☮️🎼❤️
What a beautiful interview. 👍🇦🇺
TY, FOR MAKING IT POSDIBLE FOR ME TO SEE THIS!!! 😊🌴🌺🌴💖🦎
Spent a little time with Bobby aka kid rock. One thing I know I can say about him is this he is a fan. He has the deepest respect and devotion to rock artists. He can sit with an acoustic guitar and play all night. And he can really play and sing. Something to see.
❤ luv u thanks for all your music still rockin after all these years what a lovely man
Still so gorgeous!
Mr. Plant still looking good , brilliant musical genius
Pretty sure he remembers LZ in the era, more than likely that's why he stays away
Great interview. Thxs for the upload ✌️❤️🇨🇦
I love Robert Plant and his music.

Still passionate and honest about music - still cutting edge
Fantastic interview, thank you :)
It's truly a blessing that Robert, Jimmy and Jonesy are still with us to share their experience, knowledge, and understanding of those earlier times.
Same with me.
modern music doesn't come close to the beautiful art that is Led Zeppelin
