Short Line Railroad Action, Train In Mount Orab Ohio, 3 Classic Locomotives Pull Long Train For CCET

- 3 awesome older locomotives pull a long mixed freight on an Ohio Short Line Railroad. The train is pulling hard on a rainy day on the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. It is train time in Mount Orab, Ohio on the Norfolk Southern Peavine Line. This is ex Norfolk & Western Railway territory. I have seen N&W trains and NS trains on this line long before CCET. I'm glad this line is still open. NS cut the line so today it is a dead end branch line. Mount Orab is a pretty nice little town. It wouldn't be the same without the railroad. The line was closed for almost a year through Mount Orab but it is now open from Mile Post 9 at Mariemont, Ohio to about Mile Post 78.445. Mount Orab is where I do my shopping and my farm is not far from there.
The train in this video was filmed on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
One other thing. I get the following question a lot. What is the ticking sound that the locomotives make? Answer: The sound you hear is the moisture being blown out. The more humid it is, or the more loosely the valve is set, the more frequently it will blow out, which when happening rapidly makes a clicking sound. Blowing out the moisture helps prevent damage.

CCET trains operate on 160.860 and rarely ever use an EOT. Trains normally operate Monday through Friday during regular business hours although they can operate any time that a customer needs a switch. CCET leases 69+ route miles of track from Norfolk Southern and has miles of sidings and storage tracks.

Don't be fooled by the paint -- the dirty blue B36-7 is newer (1985) than the shiny black GP15-1s (1981/82).

They are getting longer. Just a few years ago the average train was one engine and about 6 or 7 cars
@@JawTooth That's a great thing... means that the railroad is growing!! I see this with our local RR, the AVR... their trains are getting longer and even adding a daytime train in addition to their overnight route some days.

Great suggestion! I want to do more on that line. I put up a video of the train at Fuch's Rd Erlanger not too long ago. I like that long climb and they finally got the caboose in Ludlow at the viewing platform

Hello from the UK. Yes another small town in American that I realise I have seen before. This time it was the historic old truck parked near the railway crossing that made me remember one of your previous videos. So, Autumn comes around again and Mr Jaw Tooth is now filming in the rain again, after months of filming in the beating heat of the Summer. Then I suddenly realise that this means that I have been subscribed to this RUclips channel for over a year and yes, I am another year older!

Two of the cleanest locomotives I've seen followed by one near death.
My cats, Red, Goldie, Holyfield (missing an ear), Whity, Scruffy, Cleep 1, Cleep 2, Simeze, HissyFits and the neighbors. All spayed/neutered, shots, cost bukoobucks!

I hope someday you'll cover the old Carrollton & Worthville line that CSX owns. The yard is still at Worthville Ky. and CSX covers Carrollton ànd many industries up into Gallatin county. I believe there is 18 miles on thd old line. Maybe you've done a video on it I'm just not aware of it.
I went there one time and drove the line looking for a train but didn't see one that day. I will return to that one. Actually I have been there twice without seeing a train.
A town that still has a solid shopping district very good to see. Make sure Norfie gets to sit inside on Halloween lest some kids try to tease her

Looks like they need to add about 25 gallons of Hydro-Tex Essentialube to each tank on that B36-7. That might clear up the smoke a bit.
That, or overhaul/replace the injectors.

Yes you have to keep the air lines clean if water from condensation gets into it it freezes in the winter and you are screwed have to take a torch and run it back and forth over the air tanks to melt the ice

It will take some time but I think as the impact of the CP-KCS merger becomes reality it will throw significantly more market and traffic towards carriers like this one.

Commodity Prices, specifically agriculturals will also be a component, if not the deciding component.
