Huge Storage Car Freight Train, Longest Short Line Train Ever 4 Cincinnati Eastern Railroad! CCET

  • First train in a week through Mount Orab, Ohio. Very long train of storage cars for the rusty tracks on the east end of the line. Both well worn GE locomotives were needed to pull this long train. Listen to these classic locomotives pulling hard on this industrial branch line in southern Ohio! For the train horn lovers, here you go! This Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET freight train had covered hopper cars for Winchester Ag, gondola cars for Cohen Recycling, hopper cars for Plum Run and a huge cut of flat cars to be put into storage near the end of the line at Plum Run. A week ago, last Wednesday, more storage cars were taken to Plum Run. This was the first train since then to go over the tracks to there so I was lucky to catch it. I have a couple other videos of long trains on this line so I don't know for sure if it is the longest or not but it sure felt like it since the flat cars seemed to go forever. Watch the train as it passes through Mount Orab, Sardinia and the outro shows it crossing Tranquility Pike which is east of Seaman. That section of track had been closed for over a year until recently when the washouts were repaired and other cars put into storage all the way out to MP78 almost at the end of the line. I will also be posting the video of the train passing through Seaman area, Lawshe and Peebles. People out that way don't get to see trains very often. CCET leases 69+ route miles of mainline from Norfolk Southern and now has so many customers that I can't even name all of them. They started with just one - Huhtamaki in Batavia. Soon gravel shuttles will be run from the quarry at Plum Run MP 74.4 to Milford MP 17.2 so hopefully I can catch a few of the first ones of those for history sake. Filmed April 15, 2020. Please watch another one of my videos to help support my channel. I have playlists for this railroad, steam trains, Indiana & Ohio Railway and more. Thanks for watching!

Those ITFX open hoppers turn up every so often here in WI/MN, usually hauling loads of coke (or coal), some are ex-CNW. Rail traffic hasn't slowed down much here either, sometimes there's a train every 10 minutes. Usually try to catch the Locals on Canadian Pacific since BNSF rarely runs them up into my area anymore. One CP local was a single GP38AC moving 61 empty autoracks into storage.

Hi Brian! I like all of those 86 ft. flat cars. Out here in Vegas there were already a few trains (UP) going through the city around 4 a.m. Now there are even fewer freight trains. And the airport where I work (McCarran) it is very quiet. They closed the new terminal (3) and moved Alaska, Jet Blue to the "D" Concourse with United, Delta, American and Frontier. Southwest seems about the busiest with about 90 flights scheduled, only to cancel many of them. Spirit Airlines has about 10 flights a day and Allegiant Airlines has stopped flying any flights for the month of April. Load factors are in the single digits. Many of my friends are out of work. Some who worked with me at a major hotel several years ago have been put on layoff despite having 15-25 years of service. Now is definitely the time to pray.

Those crossing gate lights are not blinking right all the time. It’s like the flasher gets stuck every once in a while

Did anyone else notice the lights on the grade crossing signal on the cameras side? from about the 1:48 mark onward, they seem to stick a little and flash strangely.

I believe it would be completely appropriate to establish a GoFundMe page for Locomotives #5895 & #5857......that way they could be either upgraded, replaced, remodeled, repaired or just taken out into the woods and shot~

Most shortlines are on a shoestring budget and painting locomotives is an expensive luxury. I would rather see them put the money into the track so they can keep running trains. Locos with faded paint jobs pull just as good as freshly painted ones. It's what's under the hood that counts.

What caught my eye in this video was the irregular flashing pattern on the crossing gates. They were flickering and the flashing even stopped for a few seconds. I think the flash relays in the cabinet are shot and need to be replaced.
