10 Miles In the Mojave Desert | Twilight Loop Trail - Mt Charleston NV | Luna Cycle X1 Enduro

- In this video I traveled to Kyle Canyon using NV HWY 157 to ride the Twilight Loop Trail. This trail is about 40 minute drive from the South Las Vegas strip near Mt. Charleston. This is a great trail to beat the summer heat in the Las Vegas valley. The temperature in this area is about 25 - 30F cooler than the Las Vegas Valley, so it's well worth the ride if you haven't been able to ride because of the 100+ valley summer heat.
The Twilight Loop Trail is a great EMTB ride through the desert with moderate climbs and descents through and around the rolling hills and washes. This trail is 10.4 miles long and rated moderate (blue) by most riders. My wife has only been riding blue trails for a few months and she completed it with a couple of falls and a small amount of walking over some rocky obstacles. There are two places on this trail that I walked over. I was able to complete this trail in less than hour when by myself. If you are looking for outrageous climbs, this trail is not the place. There's not any insane downhill nor any bomber drops, horrendous rock gardens or many technical ledges. Many friends with Amish bikes find this trail to be not rewarding. However, those same friends love this trail when riding on an e-bike because it flows so well.
The video footage in this video was a compilation of 8 separate bike rides over a 2 month period between June and July 2022 -- sometimes with family and friends. All rides were in the morning between 8 am - 11 am PST.

We are Ebike Explorers! This is a channel about electric mountain bike riding for regular people. We are not hardcore mountain bike riders (yet). Although we were avid bike riders before, the change to ebikes (EMTB) has opened up a whole new world of exploration and adventure for which we hope you will join us. Side note: Although we thoroughly love riding our e-mountain bikes for exercise and adventure, bike riding is our primary form of meditation and stress relief. Our bike rides allow for a few hours without our laptops, and without our phones where we can stay focused on being in the moment. Just like meditation and yoga, when we bike ride, we focus on our breathing, we push our bodies to feel more, and, we get to see some of the most spectacular scenic landscapes, sunsets and wildlife that the Mojave dessert has to offer.Whether you are a Las Vegas local or visiting from any where in the world, our hope is that with these videos we will encourage you to take advantage of the extensive Nevada bike trail system.

Hi Mel! I really appreciate your kind words about the video. It takes a lot of rides of each trail to get all those video POVs. The last few months the extreme heat, high winds, monsoon rains, and some technical issues with the drone have made completing this last video painful long. I'm hoping to crank out a few more videos before the end of the month. Most people don't realize that this trail is 50 min drive from my house each way. 50 mins x 2 x 8 rides is 6.5 hours just in drive time alone! However, it is because of warm comments from subscribers like you that make all this effort worth it! Thank you again for your support!
