Great to see a Morgan being driven hard! - clear the stereotypes of Morgan owners just pottering around, bring on the redline! Its a cracking car near the limit - its how I drive my 4/4 sport :)
Great video guys thank you - I’ve ordered one of the last builds this year before they add an air bag so thank you. (Wanted an aftermarket wooden steering wheel) .That open diff is a real challenge and needs serious care and attention as full throttle in first results in skipping sideways - but soooo much more engaging and involving than my 911.
Great stuff chaps , a gang of us Petrolhead tour guys have got 9 of the plus 4’s booked out in April so this is a great insight. Mind you none of us can pedal like Pete 👍🏼
Ah thanks mate. Yeah Pete and Tom did the Tour on Friday I think, I was only there Sat/Sun. If you wanna see more of Pete, check out my PHT Spain from last year, lots of me and SuperGav, but I did spend an afternoon with Pete, and he pops up all over the place in them, almost like he's running the show! 😎😉
Good one Rick and Peter. What a great drive and conversation about the Morgan Plus Six . Very stylish, and a proper missile. Great feedback on the interior. Must say your audio is excellent.. would have expected a bit of buffering, there was none. Fingers crossed that Morgan Motors might loan the Plus 4 for review. Cheers mate 🇦🇺
Ah wow thank you Carol. Glad you liked the audio, I really struggled with it as the Morgan was a bit draughty, and the bit outside had loads of wind noise! So i used an EQ and tried to find those trouble frequencies but I still wasn't totally happy. So bless you for that! 😉👌 Yes, a Plus 4 and a drive myself would be awesome! 🤗
What a GREAT video! Well done Rick! I've now got a greater respect for the Morgan. Still not my cup of tea looks wise but yes, what a weapon. Just slightly upset a certain yellow GT4 that was parked up at C&M wasn't featured...🤔🤣👍👍👍
Thank you so much buddy! 🤗❤️ Ah you're joking! There was so much going on I wasn't even sure what I had and hadn't filmed! 🤦♂️ I'll get her on film at some point buddy, maybe on a PHT? 😎👌
@@RickTheSpud I was only joking that 'The Wasp' wasn't in your video - I had to park right round the back anyway. It was great to see you and so many other from Petrolhead Tours. I'm on Scotland 2 this year 👍
Beautiful view looking down that wonderful hood, love how you can see where the front wheels are😊 Why the heck they didnt put a limited slip diff in this car ?
Nice video, and I think one of the few where I’ve heard the engine revving that much! 😀 Just to note - alternative wing mirrors are available if necessary, and heated seats are very useful too! And you can fit a surprising amount of supermarket shopping in a Plus 4, without a passenger….. but then I didn’t have a luggage rack…..
Ah thanks buddy! Good noise ay? Gotta give it some beans right? 😎 Yeah, if you were doing a trip or going shopping and had a passenger then you'd need a luggage rack. If not, like you say, passenger seat storage! 😜😉
@@RickTheSpud - as long as you do some more Morgan videos! I’ve been without one for a couple of years, and interested in the Plus Four, but you’ve certainly tempted me with the Six 😀
@@jonathanjenkins8630 Haha, well hopefully Morgan well let us borrow a Plus Four and we'll take it from there! You'll be pleased with a PlusSix tho, see if you can get a test drive in one, and obviously drop mine and Pete's names... 😉
Another great video. I love that Morgan. I think my only "con" would be the "use case" of it? Is it anymore than a day out car do you think given luggage space. Would you track it? Is it a case of less would be more like you guys were saying? Sorry rambling on for a Friday. Love this video mate. One of my faves. Hopefully going forwards i think you'd do great with the whole car / press car review and i hope you get the opportunity! Oh and thanks for the little Silver Renault, her first foray on the internet. It's available to test whenever you like mate!
No worries mate! 😆 Yeah you could track it, maybe a bit soft for it but you definitely could. Fast enough. Modern enough. Altho I'd track anything, and my 'track' car is old and slow but still fun. Longer trips away for luggage space might be a bit of an issue, I'd love to know what Morgan owners do with luggage, stuff it behind the seats maybe. Luggage box? Dunno. Good to see you up there mate, car looked super smart, will definitely have to meet up and do some sends in the French beast! 😇👌
I'm pretty sure you can get luggage racks for the rear of the car, but yeah I see this as a car you keep in the garage and take out for a blast at the weekend. Or even a fun commute to the office if you don't need to take stuff with you. This and similar-ish kit cars aren't really designed to be dailies / tourers / family cars, they're just fun toys. That's how I see them anyway. I own a Tiger Cat E1 and that has zero practicality - it's loud, fast and ridiculous though, just how I like my cars :)
@@technicalscience Yeah you might be right. If you wanted to take stuff with you and it was just you then easy, passenger seat or footwell, and there's some space behind the seats but not much. And yeah I agree, a weekend hack, or even a daily commute would be easy, more easy than a Caterham for example, getting in and out of this is easy with the roof on, not in a Caterham, see other video! 😆 ruclips.net/video/ywp3vCuWRFM/видео.html
@@RickTheSpud yeah I used to do my daily commute in a mk 1 MX5, that has more space than this car but still not exactly practical - can't beat driving to work in something fun though, starts the day off right 😎
@@technicalscience Mk1 MX5 sounds like an ideal little daily commute car. Small fun and good on fuel. Who needs a 7 series or big Merc to get themselves around. Small and fun is the key. 🤩
Thank you buddy! Yeah it is where 'Harry's Garage' drives around and there are some great roads around and about that area, not always the widest or the best tarmac especially when wet or cold, but certainly some great sections of roller coaster roads! Just so happens to be 10 minutes from Pete's House! 😎👌
@@RickTheSpud RUclipsrs corner :-D I am looking forward for your next video. I love how you make yours. It feels down to earth and not too "youtuber like" Just Like Harry and Ian Tyrell
Excess power makes a car effortless which makes for relaxed driving knowing you have more than enough power in any situation. For me that’s a positive not a negative.
To a point, if the chassis can handle it. Doesn't make it effortless in this, it makes it sketchy! No LSD and struggling to put power down in 4th is not relaxed. Rather have less power and use all of it.
The little criticism about the mirrors and the vents are vanishing as soon as this car is driven as it’s supposed to be: open roof and between spring and fall (not in winter time!) 😊
It has an AT… something I wouldn’t have in my Miata. I have been awakened to the joys of automatics to some degree, in their place, but in a Morgan??? I would rather row my own.
Yeah agreed, I've got a Miata too and it's so much fun to stir some gears. As we said in this vid, we'd prefer a bit less power, and manual box, and a diff! 💪 However, it's still a great fun car. 🤗 May mates just bought a 4 pot manual and he loves it. I saw it at the weekend and even parked up we were both just smiling while staring at it. It's just a bit querky and childish! 😜😂
It was Sunday, they were all closed. 🤷♂️😁 Pete wasn't holding the wheel at 10 & 2 either, or wheel shuffling. 🤓 If we were treating the roads like a race track, we'd have been going much faster than that. 😜
Not for me, the motor to strong and I no like automatic, the plus 4 is for me. With a manual box, I do no want to go to fast as well. But the car outside is the same.
Just watching this reminds me how amazingly FAST that car was. It’s such a hotrod! Made me giggle a lot ❤️
So much fun, hey buddy? 😂
Great bit of kit, and so jolly fast!
