This is like what a 1930s archeologist that was also a car enthusiast would drive. I love it.
A perfectly perspicacious comment.
Jurassic Park flashbacks
Indiana Jones
I do have a degree in Archeology, and I agree!
If Lawrence of Arabia was a car
Ariel: We made a cool off road car that people like.
Morgan: Hold our luminous tweed jacket and bobble hat...
Its ridiculous and I love it!
And then James May painfully joins them with his Caterham...
It's so fucking ridiculously funny.
i would own this way before an actual standard morgan!
Ariel Nomad: all right let's go!
Morgan: HERE YEE HERE YEE, a spot of trialing sounds smashing!!
this is hilarious
Ariel:Wroomm...
Morgan:Off its not fair:)
The designer is so charismatic, he could be a host himself
Going out into the woods in a wooden car.
This car is so Henry Catchpole, hope he gets invited to that Morocco trip!
Looks like something straight out of a Tintin cartoon. Absolutely love it!
Believe it or not, cars used to look like this in 1930's
Love how John didn’t want to associate the word SUV with this car hahah
IKR, because SUVs are more closely associated to supermaket car parks and idiotic drivers than anything else now!!
@@Nemoticon or maybe because an SUV is a specific style of vehicle.
Not everything that can go off-road is an SUV.
@@Mireaze No, not everything that can go off-road is an SUV, because fully blown 4x4s are not SUVs. However, SUVs these days on the market are simply overgrown hatchbacks. So much for being 'sports utility vehicles'!!
@Mireaze this Morgan is more SUV than any SUV today
The vast majority of SUV provide little or no *sports* ability in any sense - and beyond a regular wagon/estate or 5 dr hatchback, have little extra *utility* either.
The term SUV has about as much to do with the original words, as RnB music is related to 'rhythm and blues'. It's just a cool label.
Speaking of cool - the cold, dead hearted, old man rant is over. 😉
That is the most exciting car I have seen for years! I want one... What a shame they are only making 7... Good job Morgan. And thank you Mr CatchPole for making such entertaining content.
They are very simple, so just bolt some things onto a morgan.
@@stephen300o6 Yep, they added a lift and a cage to a design that's nearly a century old, and STILL it's one of the most exciting new cars there is! :D
Head of design? I thought he was a co-host. refreshing to see someone not being stiff whilst talkin about their new car.
Yeah, I'd genuinely like to see him reviewing other stuff. Cars, I was thinking, but sure, other stuff too.
Happy Richard Hammond noises
happy *HAMSTER* noise
I bet Hammond can't wait to crash this!
I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of the 7 buyers... actually I would be surprised if he isn't
I AM A DRIVING GOD
He's the first person that came into my mind with enough cash and the passion in this day and age to own one of those (not saying that he's super duper rich or the car is super expensive, but generally rich people imo are more interested in Porsches and Ferraris or whatnot more than a car that looks like it's from the World War)
Im so happy that companies like Morgan exists . Keeping the old ways alive ❤
I don´t think I´ve ever smiled so much during a car presentation! So much joy from the designer. What a cool car!
Love this, and love John's enthusiasm for the project. Well done Morgan!
“It’s all stayed together” should be quoted in the promo material 😊
Love that they made the car because they thought it'd be cool (it is) rather than following the trends of the industry.
This car excites me like no recent car has! And the stories about the owl and the guys customising them for their superyachtes is just epic!
This would be perfect in Horizon 5... Closest I'll get to it anyway!
Morgan aero GT with rally suspension and tyres build on FH4 tonight I think :)
@@matthewlange8616 RWD for fun or AWD for business?🤔
@@matthewlange8616 Keep it RWD
@@eviebr83 RWD ;-)
Lol why?It looks strange...Ferrari rally car can be cooler.
So refreshing to hear someone in automotive design so passionate, genuine and excited about their car in this day and age
Hearing the phrase "Design this car to appeal to the average consumer," must be complete hell to someone in automotive design. Can't imagine a car designer grew up wanting to be the creator of a drab grey, high riding blob that looks like every other car in the segment.
Ariel Nomad: going off the track a bit.
Morgan: Hold my mornings of Land while I climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro.
I still want the Nomad though. It had SO much room for add-one, in terms of weight.
I want mine electric actually. To explore sleepy villages and the trails between them, to not upset the locals and wildlife. Imagine you rebuild one with motors for each wheel, so you can tank turn and do a mad quick stoplight dash. Rock crawl with the best. It would still be well under 1000 kg I think, with chonky wheels on it.
I see a Tamiya buggy version of this in the near future!
Slightly reminiscent of how the first Golf GTI started…… with enthusiasts working on Saturdays…..
_"This is how the new Defender should have looked"_
So people want the new Defender to look like a lifted roadster?
@@automation7295 It's a joke about people who say the new Defender is awful and how every other off-roader is how it "should have been"
one of the coolest cars I've seen in a while.
It does looks incredibly cool.
Lol?You not watching cars a lot right?
@@joe125ful . Or maybe you're a groupthinker..? lol
@@joe125ful no he’s just not seen the Dacia Sandero 2021
@@Memovox Group what?
Ford develops the new bronco
Land rover a new defender
....
Morgan: Hold my beer
I believe its not so much beer but rather a nice cup of darjeeling with a lice of lemon poured from a pot into a china cup with a saucer and a silver spoon but yes.
He met Guinness
Hold my 50 Yr old single malt....
@@allosaurusfragilis7782 Yes, spot on. Cheers M8.
I love the air filter hidden in the saddle bag, it's so clever.
This is such an old-skool take on how sports cars used to get up to back in the day, proper cross-continental adventures... this thing looks ready for tackling African and Australian rallies where no roads dared be laid!!
Brilliant, just brilliant. Hopefully Carfection get an invite to the Morocco trip.
James Bond indeed need to consider this into their movie
That would be cool, they gotta buy the last one, chassis no. 007
Im sad we didnt get to see Henry get in or out off the Morgan. But love the concept!
I was sold until he said £170k plus extras. Only lotus with the new emira seem to be wanting to sell it to the average person. I’d buy a Porsche turbo S and have change or purpose built 4x4 for my adventures and a cheaper sports car.
I’ve been looking for comment that pointed it out it’s 170 even without VAT😂 brilliant car but 170 plus tax, that’s a bit ridiculous
Lots of places in the Western US that this would be a blast
One of the best ever videos from Carfection. I love Morgans.
It has the full El Alamain, SOE look. Coolest Morgan I ever saw, and equally cool to the Nomad. Just want to take it to Morocco and go south.
You've got to love an organisation like this. Small enough to be themselves and competent enough to do what they do well.
I thought this was a windup. I bet this is an absolute gem of a motor. The thinking man's ariel nomad.
At first the video looks straight out of a David Attenborough documentary..One of the best car reviews ever..
As someone who would kill for a raid-kitted Bentley Continental, I can't criticize anyone for wanting this thing. Even if I really want to
I don't know what I like better: the car or the enthusiasm of the maker.
Looks great, if the Morgan engineering team had similar input on the Aero 8 suspension I’d still have one in the garage!
I've always wanted a Morgan, I want this one even more. The factory is well worth a visit as well.
I’m all in on the safari Morgan. Until I heard the price.
And probablly durability..its British Morgan more or less:)
@Scroto T Baggins Yeah but 70K to buy Morgan?I can get better Land Rover with lot of mods..
@Scroto T Baggins why are you so aggressive. I understand why it’s worth that much, I’m not bitching.
Is it me or do sports cars in off-road trim just look better? The Nomad, 911 Safari, this thing…!
Henry THIS is your car!
No need for a mountain-bike anymore!🤩🤩
Love it - as soon as the lottery pays out it'll be one of these and a Nomad sitting together on the driveway :D
"170k pounds"
A beautiful car but my goodness
Africa Eco Race would be perfect. That first shot over the ledge was Epic!
I wondered if the comparison to gravel riding would come up because that was my first thought
this vid is really beautiful s/o to the production team
This guy, Richard Hammond, and Harry from Harry's Garage need to make a trip in three CXTs
Refreshing to hear somebody from a manufacturer that's not a stiff marketing puppet. But then, would we expect anything else from Morgan. Doing it their way as usual, and you can't help but love them for it.
Great car and great film Henry, thanks for bringing this to us!
8 being made - 170k
With people like John steering Morgan design , they are in safe hands.
This car is a home run, god DAMN.
It’s cool! but the price! It should have been £50,000 and they would sell thousands, not 7.
Morgan needs to maintain creative independence and freedom. I see great commercial and brand recognition through a joint venture on a model only basis with a high volume, reliable quality, low cost producer. China will make a cheap copy anyway.
This would meet the market of young sports enthusiasts, uni students, etc, who in turn help the model look sexy. Remember the marketing concept that the person driving the base Defender in their mind is also driving the RR Autobiography and visa versa. When the market is hooked they will fork out the big dollars when they can afford it. At these prices, Morgan needs to be financially viable very long term.
Did he say 170k? For a 4 pot engine out off a photocopier salesman’s company car. Fair play to them.
Very cool car and great video. I was just wondering why it is LHD.
Excellent job Morgan!! Unfortunately, "Impulsive Behavior" is treated with MEDICATION here in the states. I h8 medz
Hear Yee! Hear Yee! The Morgan Nomad
P.S. Talks about doing Rallyraids in it, specifically mentions rollcage not being FIA approved. 🤥Pointless then.
That little car is just begging to be taken on an adventure, in the true derring-do tradition. Love it!
Hello Carfection.
This Morgan Plus Four CX-T need to be come out in next INDIANA JONES movie!!!
Best of luck to the summer trainee for cleaning the cabin of the car after each test!
Good lord. My Morgan cost me 250 quid . It was in 1968 but it was a special , was raced in the '50s and came with many extras. Still on the road but is now white not red and has a different engine.
I like it! Hopefully they will make a more everyday version; I think it would sell.
Wouldn't it make sense with more clearance if you go off-roading..?
I like when Henry suggested that the cage looked cool, the designer ignored that and continued with the list of ways the cage is actually functional and practical. 🙂
Now that looks a lot of fun. The little car that can, nicely put Henry. A fitting tribute to 150 years and hopefully Morgan’s clientele will do its design capability justice.
I love it when Morgan get their mad scientist on. It’s a shame the battery 3 wheeler didn’t make it to production, but I’m so that happy that this exists.
I'll take one in olive drab please. I need something a bit rufty tufty to get my shopping.
If you've seen the state of the roads round here you'd understand
Hello, Marketing....we made a pointless thing to stimulate social media....
Some real gems here: the car itself, the presenter, the designer, the editing. Lovely.
Awesome car from Morgan and beautifully captured @Carfection 👌🏻
Stunning cinematography.
This is bloody fantastic, if Indiana Jones drove a Morgan😂
It needs a button on the dash that plays the Raiders Of the Lost Ark theme on demand.
The ultimate Boomermobile! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Wonderful!
If i could spec one for myself the only thing i want different is a wagon/hatchback roof line. That way all the equipment could be inside the car and i think it would look really cool.
I was not expecting this from Morgan…but then again…it’s Morgan
Another great video from Carfection and Catchpole - thanks for helping me procrastinate!
Must ve great fun to work at morgan i can imagine! small dedicated Team of people loving the Things they produce
Does Henry get a day off? 8 videos in 2 weeks!
170,000 pounds. Crazy
Carfection, your videos are outstanding.
Love that the design team got it built!
I think James Bond would be First in Line to grab a CXT! What a great Concept!!
The answer to the owl above the PDI bay is simple. It was placed there by my Grandfather: Tony Bough as a deterrent to the birds who were forever crapping on the cars he had just prepared for collection by their new owners. The owl scares away any birds looking to roost above the cars. My Grandfather was one of the longest serving employees at Morgans at the time of his retirement. If you check the series Handmade, you will see him discussing his owl and why it is there, he is the old gent in the white coat. They also pronounce his name as Anthony Bows but it is Bough as in bough of a tree! I hope this clears up the Owl mystery!!
Thank you for your nice story! It truly adds a touch of awesomeness to a already awesome video!
This is THE Morgan I need here in America, due to our crappy paved roads.
Ever travel in Russia? There is no roads..
@@joe125ful
Actually, traveling around Russian villages and small cities from St.Petersburg to Moscow in my restored 1950 Jeep CJ-5 is on my bucket-list...
@@mikelane1542 That is great!
That moment with the sketch on the wall reminds me of when Jonny Ive's design for the iMac was spotted by Steve jobs as he toured the backrooms of Apple.
Love the editing, like watching movies 😂😂
That car is amazing! Thank you Morgan.
Best car enthusiast project in the last few years!
The designers created a solution to a problem that didn't exist...I love it! They should make a race series just for this car.
Best review ever!! Well done carfection team!!
I love it! So cool to see car companies have fun like this! I wish this was available in the US
Hands down the coolest Morgan going.
Isn't suspension travel required to go off road?
I know what I'm going to do today in Forza Horizon 4.
Was sat there thinking "that's quote cool"..... It costs £170k, not anymore. Back to Ariel we go......
I want to drive to Uluru in one of these - and then, why not head North, and continue around the entire friggin' continent..!
Lots of people in small remote outback towns use small cars too. If you are conservative, there is no reason why not. The clearance and low weight are awesome if you don't get carried away and load it up.
This car existing has made me happy.
I think we'll see more of this kind of thing when it comes to the custom car scene...a quick set of spring / strut spacers will lift nearly any vehicle an inch or two, fender well clearance for fat tires, exhaust tuck, skid plate...light bars and mud flaps. I mean, it's already a thing, but I think it's going to become more and more common...especially in North America.
