They definitely said that. Definitely dumb in hindsight. The man can't create his own offense. For better or for worse. That's the number one rule to being Melo. Lol!

@@Jack.Gulezian Im saying thats what I thought he would be. not what I currently think he is. Even if he sucks on defense he's a lot closer to Paul than Melo of all people.
They are showing that the NBA IS THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD. No one is gonna let you score 23ppg just because you was a McDonald’s all American 1st team all American in college that you was ranked top 20 since you was 13 years old or how many views your high school mixtape has. It’s the best playing the best every day. Becoming a above average player is incredibly hard. People you was ranked over pass you up sometimes Ja morant is a 0.0001 exception to go from basically number 100 in high school to the number 2 pick in 2 years and a superstar now he blazed past EVERYONE above him in his class by far save for Zion he just got injuries but he got same talent level. Rj Barrett is a solid player 15-20 ppg kinda guy at least on the team he on now. Julius randle is the leader on the team for now. Rj Barrett was the consensus number 1 pick going into high school Zion took that from him 2 weeks into the season he’s on another level talent wise. And ja morant took it 3 weeks into the season he’s on another level too. Rj is solid but he peaked a lil earlier than those guys and they are so much more talented. But Rj is still a solid player though 15-20 ppg a great addition to any team and plays tough defense.
Like any skill set in any work environment. They have to learn how to do the things around them as much as the thing they do. If they only focus on one skill set, thats all they understand. The balanced player may not get the singular highlight. But the balanced player plays better. So the singular player cannot adjust to the game. They just get boxed in.
As a Cavs fan, Issac Okoro is a junkyard dog! Cleveland doesn't need him on offense that much, but his defense is valuable to the second unit - especially with Caris LeVert, who is a turnstile on defense, coming off the bench now. I'm guessing the team is going to develop him as a tough defensive enforcer, but he does need to improve on offense. The Cavs' window is within the next three-four years, so we'll see.
Yupp to say he hit the wall pretty much means he doesn’t watch Cleveland games. His role is perfect and Cleveland don’t need him to score. He’s part of the reason the team is so successful
a fair few of these players just need to be traded to teams who are better at developing players and can give some of these guys more minutes if thats what they need. I truly believe that if RJ got traded to a different team like the grizzlies, pacers, golden state, celtics, dallas or the bucks and a few other teams we could see his full potential come out cause i just dont think the knicks is the right team for him.
Look at Lauri Markkenen on the Jazz. He suddenly turned into a young Dirk. If knicks had traded RJ there, maybe he'd be at 25 ppg. And Mitchell will be good anywhere, he'd be leading NY right now.
RJ is so overated and if you wonder why he people say that even tho he averages 20 points every season it’s because thibadeou plays him 40 minutes every game for no reason so by default he will keep shooting
No disrespect Andy but majority of the content you been putting out as of late has been negative, let's try something positive and more creative... Just a suggestion from a sub who appreciates your craft.. Peace
The spacing isn't an excuse for Barrett, he just was overhyped, PERIOD. Look at how well Randle and Jalen are doing, Jalen Looking every bit worth of his contract, heck, right now, it's looking like we got him for steal!!
Rui came out of the draft and they were saying he was Draymond cause his defense was so good at zaga ..the melo comparisons are 2k players cause they gave rui melo release lol
or maybe its all of you peoples fault because u all put them in this high expextation but when they dont meet ur expectation u gonna call them any sort of name bust player bad player etc. so dont do that people.
Barrett is stagnant. Every knicks game I’ve watched he forces shots as a very inconsistent jump shooter. But most of all he only goes left! Ball hogging lefty
I'd be targeting RJ if I was teams around the league. His value is dropping enough that a team with good spacing and better culture might be able to get much more out of him that they would have to give up.
You cant really say any of them "hit a wall" as long as theyre still young and in the league, at times it doesnt even matter if theyre still young either
Eh RJ lacks the burst or quick hops to be one of the best in the game but if he improves on his shooting he can take another step up. He’s def still improving though so it’s not a lost cause. A lot of his weaknesses come from a lack In confidence and immature decision making. I think he can learn a lot from Brunson’s game. If he can become half the player Jaylen is in the post then he’ll have a long career
Nobody called Hachimura the next Melo. Tf? In the draft he was projected to be a rotation SF/ average defender who could score a little bit inside 16 feet.

I’m surprised u haven’t talked about Patrick Williams he’s another guy who I feel like has hit a wall
Ayton way better than anybody on this list but to say he hasn’t got better is not a stretch
That wall is only an obstacle guys!! It’s beatable and you can go through it!!
The problem with Ayton is he doesn't have a go to move. He can't bully even smaller defenders. Every time I see him in the post, he looks hesitant.
Barrel is a more efficient josh smith type of player streaky but good enough to get by
My thing about RJ is he is similar to Wiggins and Barnes. Ranked #1 in his class, is a good starter, but until he is in the right system his full potential will never be on display.
Yo Andy rude for that “wall” which I thought was going to be “NBA players who keep laying bricks”
De'andre Ayton is a tough one. He's never going to put up numbers with Devin Booker trying to score 50 every night.
Yupp and he’s great at his role I more so blame coaching.
Crazy how wild you can talk about a near 20ppg scorer.
I have NEVER heard anyone call Rui Hachimura “the next Melo” 💀😂 that is insane. He was gonna be Paul Millsap at best. Never a Melo are you kidding me?
Carmelo and kawhi were his most used comparisons back then
They definitely said that. Definitely dumb in hindsight. The man can't create his own offense. For better or for worse. That's the number one rule to being Melo. Lol!
@@Fencellisk what's even worse is the fact that I read where somebody called Rui a "Poor man's Giannis!"
Millsap is a terrible comparison he was an all-league defender and he basically came into the league as a good defender he was dirty in college on that end
@@Jack.Gulezian Im saying thats what I thought he would be. not what I currently think he is. Even if he sucks on defense he's a lot closer to Paul than Melo of all people.
I feel bad for Bagley cause I feel like he got stunted by the Kings.
Yupp and injuries
Did you make this before Deandre won player of the week?
The issue is the inconsistencie. He has a couple of stretches like this every year.
I wish some of these guys csn turn things around in particular RJ and Rui.
RJ Barrett fooled us all.
Dude really tool 13 seconds to make the thumbnail lmao
I think Barrett is actually living up 2 the hype
Watched Kenny few days before I watch this, he said Wizard are 1 team that's okay for being mediocre.... I'm sure that's hard for Rui as well
Teams and fans need to have more of a what you see is what you get mindset instead of putting these high “potential” expectations on players
I was getting dragged on this same channel for saying Barrett was on the decline instead of incline and now even Andy changed his tone smh lol
Most of these dudes were drafted as what the team “needed” not as the best player available
Looks like "the next melo" is a curse for players. People called Parker the next melo and he hit a wall as well
Ayton just won WC player of the week... he heard you bro.
Rui Hachimura need improve his DEFENSE & footwork 🔥🔥🔥
Idk about RJ he’s doing his thing he’s not a Ja or Zion rn but he’s on the Knicks so … he gets a pass
Bagley biggest problem is his defense, specially help defense. Ayton, give me him over Bagley all day everyday and they were drafted 1 after the other
Ayton is pretty mid too 16 and 9 for a guy with skill and talent
He’s improved his defense alot this year
a fair few of these players just need to be traded to teams who are better at developing players and can give some of these guys more minutes if thats what they need.
Ngl I feel like Marvin still has a chance to be an all star or at least a double-double type of player with the young core the Detroit has
Ayton is really good, might sound crazy but Phoenix should make him the focal point rather than Booker. He’s shooting 60 plus percent
Lol na
RJ is so overated and if you wonder why he people say that even tho he averages 20 points every season it’s because thibadeou plays him 40 minutes every game for no reason so by default he will keep shooting
"efficient ball" be trying to have everyone play the same
james wiseman should be in the list!
Can’t stagnate without being good to begin with
Ayton has been a top Center in the league the past two weeks including western conference player of the week.
Being a good player for one week absolves being a clown for years?
He’s averaging 16 and 9 those are not number 1 overall pick numbers I don’t think he will ever make the all star team
Did either of you understand the point of the video?
@@yahiaali4059 he'll be an all star if he continues to play like he's playing now.
@@Fencellisk he won’t come close unfortunately too inconsistent for me there’s a lot of guys who deserve it
Ayton can be an all time center if he's the focal point of the Suns or any other team. That dude can easily average 24 & 13.
I’d like Bagley getting into a winning culture like the Celtics.
Yupp he improved alot this year.
or maybe its all of you peoples fault because u all put them in this high expextation but when they dont meet ur expectation u gonna call them any sort of name bust player bad player etc. so dont do that people.
🔥🔥
RJ Barrett screams mid
Barrett is stagnant. Every knicks game I’ve watched he forces shots as a very inconsistent jump shooter. But most of all he only goes left! Ball hogging lefty
I don't know if you care but I clicked on this because you added the WHY if it was only the wall I wouldn't have clicked on it
Thats why i dont like Knicks offered RJ that contract money, as he really is easy to predict (offensive wise), and isnt playing defense
Okoro would be great on the mavs not the cavs
I'd be targeting RJ if I was teams around the league. His value is dropping enough that a team with good spacing and better culture might be able to get much more out of him that they would have to give up.
Barret will thrive on Mavs.
@@niweshlekhak9646 I like it.
Could have shortened the video to just say "development is non linear"
RJ seems like a poor mans Wiggins😂
You cant really say any of them "hit a wall" as long as theyre still young and in the league, at times it doesnt even matter if theyre still young either
Did u compare Luka to Jordan …..

Rui has every tool to be a great defensive player. Too bad he's on a team that never plays defense.
