    I usually wait until around 15 games to get an idea on teams, but holy smokes the sixers really seem to be struggling. I do think they will get much better as the season progresses, but the key will be not to dig themselves a large hole record-wise. Especially with how competitive the top 6 spots in the East are. • @williamevans7726
      @williamevans7726 2 года назад +2

      With all due respect ---- the NBA is NOT as competitive as it's been in recent years.. No way.. Currently, there's only 7 teams in the whole league who have a realistic chance of making it to the Finals.. (3 teams in the Eastern Conference, and 4 in the West.. Perhaps you know who these teams are?) It's a different style of basketball that's played now; it's called "3-ball" with absolutely no defense whatsoever.. New rules dictate a "new style" of basketball, causing players to adjust to the latest offensive strategies & trends ---- with the addition of course of VERY STRANGE officiating.. Doesn't seem to bother the fans though, because "The League" is still doing great business.. The Nets? Come on dude!! They ain't got nuthin'!! KD & Kyrie (two very gifted 1 on 1 players who don't believe in passing the ball) --- will NEVER be enough to compete for a championship when other teams are putting 5 guys on the floor who actually play TOGETHER.. This should be apparent from the way last season ended.. Ben Simmons? What the hell is he doing out there? Home Boy is simply TERRIFIED of shooting the basketball!! (Just like when he was in Philly..) You can see it every single time he has the rock in his hands.. Never seen anything like it.. How do you figure the Brooklyn Nets aren't that bad of a team? I'd like to hear the rationale behind such a claim.. (Respectfully, of course..) What's their current record? 1 win, 4 losses? I know it's VERY EARLY, but don't expect their performance as a TEAM to improve significantly as the season progresses.. Look at their roster!! From what they're showing right now, they'd be extremely lucky to make the playoffs as a "play in" team.. Facts..

    I haven't pegged any of these teams as true contenders anyway. There's no depth, especially when nearly 50% of their caps go to 2-3 players. Rebuilds on the fly rarely work and the stars think they know better than their coaches and gm's.
    It's Suns/Grizzlies out of the West and Bucks/Celtics out East. Everyone else is just something to talk about in the meantime.

    The sixers actually played much better without Embiid, so the problem with our defense can't be lack of back up bigmen. Every clip you showed Embiid was on the floor and late on a rotation or just out of position. Also Matisse's lack of shooting is a huge disadvantage especially in the playoffs. It's essentially 5 on 4 because his man is always doubling in the ball handler. We need to iron out our rotation and revamp the offense to be more motion and less isos and Embiid post ups. That seemed to be the biggest difference between how we played with and without Embiid.

    What confuses me is why GMs think trading 1st round picks for talent equals championships.
    It is EXTREMELY rare for a franchise to win ONE championship without at least one of their two best players being a player they drafted (2020 Lakers, 2019
    Raptors)...and even more rare to win multiple championships (I gave up looking past 1990).
    LeBron and the Lakers would likely both been better off with Lonzo, BI, Hart, Kuzma, GOATruso.

    Actually, Lebron wanted Derozan. The LA front office didn't want to give Derozan a 3rd year though and shelved that. Westbrook was plan B. So Lebron deserves some flack for cosigning THAT, but the LA front office deserves a lot more for not making a far better trade. The fact is, the front office doesn't seem to have any faith their window to contend is very long. Which has become a self fulfilling prophecy because by eschewing players with multiple years on their contracts and preferring 1 or 2 year signings, they've badly limited their options and put themselves in a corner, all of which HAS derailed their contention window. Shoot, this offseason it has been reported that they turned down multiple offers that could have helped this roster tremendously, with one of their hang ups being rhat acquiring guys with multiple years left will eat up next offseason's cap.

    5:50 you cannot compare the nets roster to the lakers. They don’t just have “a bunch of scrubs” that is so disrespectful and false to say. Some of the best shooters in the league in Seth curry and joe Harris. One of the more underrated defenders in the league in Royce O’Neal. Ben Simmons started of terribly but I don’t see that happening all season. Patty Mills is still out there, granted he’s not getting much playing time. The lakers squad is far worst 3-12 than the nets
