Yesterday I was hammering the bass on a popper. Several times when it hit the water. I had two fish hit the popper three times before they got the hooks. Very target oriented bait. If the wind isn’t kicking I have a popper tied on.
It’s funny how I just did a video and touched on fishing a popper. 😂. Yeah they are forgotten, but it’s not a bad thing because that means fish aren’t seeing them as my so they will bite them lol. Love a popper!
I was throwing a popper at feeding bass the other day and couldn't get any takers. Threw walking baits, frogs, buzz baits and swim baits and couldn't get a bite even though they where feeding everywhere and blowing up on the surface. Finally switched to a chatterbait and started smacking them. Hopefully next time they will cooperate with topwater.
ive had that happen also....i went to a new pond and bass were jumping constantly so i threw on my topwater and didnt get one bite....wasnt just me either 2 other anglers had the same thing going on
@@pewpscoop some of the spots around my house have big fish but really hard bites. The sand quarry and the back of the bayou by the creek spill way are two spots with big fish that are hard to catch. Some other nearby ponds are easy, just throw s senko out and twitch it.
@@noturfather1106 The sand pit hardly gets fished. There is one small dead end road with a dock that you can fish, and the rest of it is high fenced and posted and you can't put a boat in. Most of the fish probably haven't ever seen a lure.
Hello tyler great video as always what line would you recommend for fishing top waters I normally throw whopper plopper or buzz bait also have a few walking baits like the sexy dawg any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
I love these popper vids bc poppers are my favorite topwater lure, here in Wisconsin I catch so many fish on a popper including my pb smallie, my friend caught his pb smallie that same night on a old school popper aswell

Popper over spook for me. Black popper hard to beat. ✌️

@@Steve-ev6vxthose harder to entice bass may have been pressured by lots of the standard lures and don't want anything to do with them

14-17 mono or 30lb braid with same 14-17lb mono leader
I run 40lb braid with a 15lb mono leader
Can go wrong with 15 lb monofilament for topwater lures.
