Man, I legitimately appreciate the amount of work you put into each video. Educational and entertaining can be difficult to mesh but you make it look effortlessly. Awesome job again as always.
I always put my feathered trebles on the front hook. That way, it gives them something to target, but they tend to headshot the bait more. Also, I make braid split rings so they can spin a lot more than regular split rings. It's the same idea as the double split ring
Something else would be to add a red hook on the front treble. Not because it necessarily looks like blood or whatever but it's just something different for them to target. And that can go in conjuction with a feathered back treble. I might have to try out the feathered front treble though, thanks for the tip.
Your videos are the best. They are all well done and have a lot of great information for fisherman like me. I have learned more from your videos than all the rest put together. Keep up the great work.
Great video!! I fish topwater almost exclusively, because I love it. Replace the front treble with a red one. Trust me!! It focuses the strike towards the front of the lure.
Sup Tyler. Great video as always. I learned a lot from it that will take away some frustration. Have a few baits that hooks are on a swivel and been reluctant to use. Ty tc
Finally hooked a largemouth on a popper the other week - it was so satisfying!! It was only about 9 in, but still fun seeing the explosion on the water. Then, not even ten minutes later, I hooked the sane fish!
I dont typically through alot of top water in Indy, nevertheless, I will use this info for sure. With land lock indy, my biggest bass is around 7 lbs. Thanks for your very informative video.....
Great video try putting your feather or your bladed hook on the belly hook they’ll hit that and the back hook will catch him give it a shot it works real good for me
I use braid with a fluorocarbon leader. It’s the musky fisherman in me. Plus we have a lot of dogfish and pike so having something bite proof helps. I don’t find it effects the top water action. But I use light hardware and tie it not crimped
Speaking of frogs, I find it odd that as bass fisherman it’s a category that we don’t readily include in “top” water. We’ll always say it was a frog fish vs a top water fish. Lol. So funny.
I've been trying to spread the gospel on how bass see colors for a long time now. Finally someone has read the same research! Yes! To a bass, chartreuse looks white. And blue looks gray. Kinda funny considering what are two of the most popular colors across any bait. I've done videos on it. I've been blasted on Reddit posts over it. Bass are colorblind kids. Get over it. They don't have super vision.
Man I’ve been flat out crushing it on the top water! An you are right. You’ll scratch your head more then ever while fishing top water always saying the same thing “how the heck did he come off”
I’m not here trying to promote my videos but I have a large amount of videos on my channel crushing bass on a fire tiger color popper in super clear water. I’ve never tried the translucent before. But now I might when the fire tiger bite slows way down
You mention medium heavy and medium rod types with different lines. What about a medium heavy fast action rod? Which line would be better to use with this rod type?
You make excelente videos, and we understand perfect. But could be better,, if You show us how to work it.. throw some of them in to the water. Sorry mi English..... I spect you understand what i'm tring to said.
I found with braided line a leader helped cut down by more than half the wrapping around the first hook. With mono I don't usually have it happen often except when I get user error 😅. Whoops I did that I'll just unwrap it
Have you tried a ball bearing swivel on the hooks? You said double split ring I never done that. But it got me to thinking a ball bearing swivel seems like it would help even better.
Man, I legitimately appreciate the amount of work you put into each video. Educational and entertaining can be difficult to mesh but you make it look effortlessly. Awesome job again as always.
💯 agree, it’s awesome to see this channel grow & gain soo many subscribers…been subscriber for years when

When did they go from surface lures to top water lures? 65yrs ago I used surface lures lures.

Thanks Dennis...I really appreciate that
Thanks for another great video Ty. Definitely going to try the double split ring trick. And yeah I need to keep it simple
umm was that a swivel on that split ring attaching to line??? i have always used couple of bobber stops, but not swivel... ????

Great tips thanks!
Nice info! I had luck in the early morning with a chrome Zara Spook.
What size split ring do you add for the double? Any specific brand/model you recommend? Love your videos, thanks!
Were you ever able to figure out what size split rings to use when doubling up?
Finally hooked a largemouth on a popper the other week - it was so satisfying!! It was only about 9 in, but still fun seeing the explosion on the water. Then, not even ten minutes later, I hooked the sane fish!

Great video. I’ll have to try a silent top water.
Great video try putting your feather or your bladed hook on the belly hook they’ll hit that and the back hook will catch him give it a shot it works real good for me
I love top water fishing....just haven't been able to dial in the right conditions to fish that way.
Hello sir I’m new to your app you are a good teacher I really get into your videos can you do something on lipless crankbaits
Just see your video. Trying to order the rods you mentioned. 2nd. Rod for$19. But it was not. No discount price. Why? I'm your big fan.
This particular deal was for Memorial Day…I’m am sorry but thanks for watching
I don’t know if anybody has asked this question or not. But when fishing mono or braided line what pound test would you recommend for each? Thank you
30lb braid / 15lb mono
Great info, what about talking about wind, no wind topwater lures?

Top water isn't quite on yet out here on the CA Delta. Just around the corner!
Great information!
Man I’ve been flat out crushing it on the top water! An you are right. You’ll scratch your head more then ever while fishing top water always saying the same thing “how the heck did he come off”
Gotta love Uncle Frank
That black and gold zara spook in the thumbnail is the secret for super dirty water. Caught so many big large and smallmouth with it here in ny
When do you decide to use a prop style or whopper plopper vs standard spook vs a popper?
I’m not here trying to promote my videos but I have a large amount of videos on my channel crushing bass on a fire tiger color popper in super clear water. I’ve never tried the translucent before. But now I might when the fire tiger bite slows way down
Heck yeah get it!!
What about a main line of braid, and a mono 6 ft leader?
While it's true, only need a few colors...us lure junkies need them all! 🤣
Quality material
You mention medium heavy and medium rod types with different lines. What about a medium heavy fast action rod? Which line would be better to use with this rod type?
I caught 21 Saturday (1.5 - 3.0 ) and missed about the same amount. Small frog and whopper plopper. Was a great day
I heard the feathered hooks get sucked in better when the fish "inhales" the bait. Sounds like a very plausible explanation to me.
Top water is definitely the best
what rod you use in invoker pro siries ?
Everywhere in the country? We're still in the prespawn
You make excelente videos, and we understand perfect. But could be better,, if You show us how to work it.. throw some of them in to the water. Sorry mi English..... I spect you understand what i'm tring to said.
How about poppers??
I caught some of my biggest bass on topwater
Frank Scalish is the man! BTL is the best
What baits would you use for spring , summer , and fall fishing?
Do u use a mono leader?
Yes I do
It's a must........
I like Topwater.
There’s 2 kinds of fishing lures made.
1. Catches fish and the 2nd catches fishermen.
If they are committed to the feathered treble, why not just move the feathered treble to the middle or front hook hanger
I have trouble with my line getting caught in the front hooks on my top water baits. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?
What kind of line are you using?
@@Oldbasshole mono
@@RippingCasesBreaks odd , usually that happens with braid . I’ve never had that issue with mono
I found with braided line a leader helped cut down by more than half the wrapping around the first hook. With mono I don't usually have it happen often except when I get user error 😅. Whoops I did that I'll just unwrap it
