- Playin' around with a 214CE. I'm not super well versed on Taylor Guitars but their consistency always impresses me. Spruce Top, Layered Koa Back and Sides.
Recorded with Shure KSM32, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Logic Pro, no additional processing.

I sold my 214ce and bought a J45 studio. J45 is a great guitar but I really miss the 214ce.
I’d love to give one a play. My problem with most Taylors is a general lack of bass sound. I’ve played an HD-28 for 35 years, and nothing can match the low end it has. It’s a cannon.
Very nice sounding guitar. I prefer the 814s, but I wouldn’t be mad at owning one of these.

I just bought a 214ce 2 weeks ago and can hardly put it down. I have 8 other guitars that I thought were great...but none of them hold a candle to my Taylor.
What do you think of the martin 000-10e compared to the taylor 214ce? They're in the same price range and I don't have the chance to try any of them where I live.
And also what do you think of the 214ce compared to martin 000-13e ?

Just bought one today as a bring around guitar. Surprised by the bass could have more the my d28 oh no right?
To my ear, wearing headphones, that guitar sounds like some twice the price. 214s are real bargains as all-purpose guitars.
Terry I agree totally. I was brought up around serious acoustic guitar snobs who turned their noses down at Taylor... But really, they're just well VERY built guitars that get the job done.

Just wish the binding wasn't white. I actually prefer the no gloss satin finish and the nice price of $899. But I'm considering the 214ce plus ($1199) just because the binding is black. Its also full gloss and a nicer case which i don't care as much about, its just that gaudy white binding. Not sure its worth spending 300 more for the plus though

Ian, thank you for your reviews. How would you compare this guitar against Eastman e1ss ltd? Both at similar price point and both have bright and crispy tones.
If you plan to use it on an amp at all, go for the taylor simply because they're known for that.
