Tips if you're having troubles:
Don't run the installation on anything more than a single core for the CPU
On the last line of code for the command prompt, change that 1 to a 0. so it reads like this VBoxManage setextradata "MACOS" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 0
After install, take off the ISO in settings>storage and uncheck the ISO. That way it won't loop back to installation.
Make sure virtualization is enabled in your BIOS.

You can copy all of the commands at once and it will run all of them at once in order so that you don't have to do it individually

Spent 6 hours cumulatively trying to get this shit to work. Low and behold - it was the CPU CORES TO 1 that made it work.

I finally got it to install after being stuck on the '29 - 27 minutes remaining' loop: I did what some others said in the comments and set my CPU cores to 1 and RAM to 8GB (not sure if the RAM matters but it worked at 8. The 1 CPU core 100% matters though). If you're reading this, you should try to use more RAM and let us know if that also works with the 1 CPU core because it's most likely just the CPU core.
Now that you have it installed, can you increase the CPU cores without any problems when using the VM?
@@timgubler3584 no it completely stopped working. I ended up following a different tutorial. I don't think the ISO this guy provided is even good.

When set to 1,it says failed to query SMC value from the host (VERR_INVALID_HANDLE).
When set to 0,it stucks at "MACH REBOOT".

@@GreenGameCodi yeah i had the same issue and this is what helped me to solve it. Just change the cpu to 1 that is all trust me when i found out that it solved it i knocked myself on the head trust me it worked for me.
Reduce 3CPU to 1CPU then it works

This might be because macOS is bootlooping due to kernel panic’s (it does it automatically after like 8 panic’s) either that or you haven’t got your boot settings configured to boot hard disks first.

Yep, can confirm. Couldn't get it working before I did a complete restart. It could be enough to just restart the VirtualBox service (VBoxSDS), but it only occured to me now, so no way to test it.
how do you get back to windows
Followed all the instructions exactly and restarted but still doesn't work. My pc's CPU is an intel processor as well

I restarted after a few failed attempts (and after the cmd commands), reduced the number of CPUS to 1, and after 30 minutes and the progress bar around 90%, it restarted again....:((. Don't know what else can be done here....

It wasn't working for me, then i switched it to only 1 CPU, and it worked. Hope this helps some people.
Same here 1 CPU did the trick so far, I kept RAM on 8GB for now. Were you able to somehow go to 2 CPU at least for better performance?

It installs for about 30 mins, so probably at or near the end and then gets into a cyclic crash.
I have tried the ISO attached here and Ventura and Sonoma downloaded directly from Apple.
All three get to the same place and then start crashing.
My CPU is i9-13900T I have given the VM 8MB RAM and set it to 1 CPU as recommended here.

Once installation finished I got kicked back to the 4 options in the start (Safari, Disk Utility.....)

VmWare works so much better. Easier to install and is faster to run. I would suggest using Monterey or Ventura, then updating to Sonoma in the regular way. Less problems.

Running i7 on a laptop with 64 GB. Using Xcode, which requires a lot of resources, I can't type too fast or it misses letters. But it's nice.

i get it too there is a command "VBoxManage setextradata "Mac" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 1" this one since it has smc i retyped the command in the cmd but theres no improvement the error persists
I have had some of my own hassles, like the VM boot loops after kernel panics. Though this may be because I used some hard disks from previous VM tutorials. Oh wait it is still bootlooping… maybe I should just patch VMware? Yeah I’ll take my chances there

I've been watching so many of these tutorials(because i can't get it to work :/ ) and i'm not sure why no one knows this but... You can literally just paste all the cmd lines in in one go, you don't need to copy them one by one lol

The reason is because you might make a mistake with one of the commands and doesn’t take up time still
@@teema.everythingtech Well, i copied them directly, and made sure to replace the name. There's no error messages in CMD too. It gets to the MacOS install screen, even gets to the install and then just restarts back to the install page after it finishes. I've tried unmounting the disk, and it just says "your mac disk is not inserted"

(PLease be advised: SMC value is either 0 or 1. 0 works for some hardware and 1 works for others.)
think i found a fix. unfocus the window by clicking another window, wait for the vm to start resizing the window, then click back. at least it worked for me.

After installation it didn't works because enter in Guru Meditation.
After failing to get MacOS running (or even installing) on my new AMD 7800X3D system, and following all recomendations/settings, I just found what was wrong - in Win11, there is a "core isolation" feature, which is turned on by default. After disabling this, finally the installer didn't stop before getting to the actual install operation, but gets to the GUI for installing ...
Where is this setting? I just built a 7800x3D! insane processor

If you get any of the errors below, it could be because the ISO image is not correct, the one provided in the description doesnt work for me (SHA256 8855285F35D86C122C8AB94B1D2E38A7DF2F06220F8362A976CC3C474432E1C3).
Look up "techrechard Download macOS Ventura ISO for Virtualbox and VMWare" on google to download a different image, that one has SHA256 hash of FEED48FCF8BFA038F820370657697748102866445D4E97A69FF0523FCBB48921

Hey guys try this method it works too. On the page it says virtual machine Name and operating system. To show the page on the main virtualbox menu click on new and on the ISO image you click on it and add the MacOS iso file thing you downloaded and choose that file and it will have the name and type on it already then just click next and your all set.

your BIOS has the virtualization disable, you need to shut down your pc, access the BIOS menu, in configuration somewhere there is a option to enable virtualization, then save and turn your pc on again.
