Pushing LEGO wedge plates to their limit

- This is a similar theme to a few of my past builds, but taken to new level with A-shaped LEGO wedge plates. As the outtakes at the end showed, it was challenging getting that final connection without making the build longer. But the longer this type of build, the more 'play' it has within it, and the less satisfying I find it. I'm always striving for the stress limit a given build can take while still being solid and stable.
All that being said, you can bet this won't be the last helical torus I create--and I definitely want to go bigger. 😁
I should also note the special guest appearance of my A-Shaped Wedge Wheel toward the end. I just had to see how these two builds looked together. You can see the video for that build here: • The insanity of LEGO w...

I love how during the video, i tell my self "wow, that's a lot. Oh, he's doubling it?" Like 5 times, making me more shocked each double
HAHA I HAD THE SAME REACTION!!!
I watch his videos somewhat frequently and I’m still shocked whenever he does that. (Often lol)
Evwrytime I was like: "How the actual fuck does he have so many pieces? This are so many. He can't double it again." And then he doubled it again. And again. And again.
"but wait, there's more"
Every 5 seconds: :0

Fr I was in so much pain before that
Yes, that final press was so satisfying in my mind 😂
You must've used "OVER 9000!" Lego pieces! 😅
this
Oh, so I'm not the only one who noticed that.
I love that, just when you think there can't possibly be more parts, he just doubles the amount.
Exactly
Honestly, the most impressive part of all these videos is just having so many pieces in the same color
Soo true
Direct order from the Factory 😁😆
I agree
I don't think using anything other than brand new bricks that have the tightest most secure fit would successfully stay together for many of this persons builds
This one in particular looks to be under a good amount of stress over the entire structure, I'm pretty sure it would fall apart if you used those pink bricks that your cousins toddler chewed on last year 😅
@@michaelkramer9014 I have neither
When he made the circle at the end and there was that one piece in the center of the frame that was not fully connected, I was anxiously waiting for him to fix it, but then he did and it was so satisfying.
When I miss those it really is tragic 😂
Thank you for speaking up on behalf of others😭
I needed it so bad hahaha.
In case someone wondering.... 5:24
Sometimes I hate to read comments, but here… in this thread…I found a home.
That final form is so satisfying but also makes me slightly anxious knowing the painstaking repetition to get there.
This is an interesting example of emergent properties. How repeating the same quantitative change resulted in more and more qualitative capabilities of the object at hand.
watching this baked af and each time you doubled it i was like "he can't keep getting away with it" and then each time you doubled it again. it was like a gag from an 80s movie or something and it had me in tears. thank you for such great entertainment

the fact that i thought this video was super old, like made in 2011 just demonstrates how great this video is

You know what i like most in these kind of videos? You have 1st piece, connect it to 2nd piece, then you bring 1st+2nd piece conected and connect tit, then you bring 1+2+1+2 and connect it. It's just never ending spiral and i love it!

The light tunnel!! Thank you for playing with the lighting inside the.. log? It looked awesome. Add in a couple more and it would have looked like a ride tunnel! So cool.

I really like the part where the person puts the legos together to form a structure, then zooms out to reveal another identical structure which then merges to become one. I've found my new object of worship, because nothing is larger than this thing.
Ive never seen a piece like that but i guess its because this guy owns all of them.
Incredibly satisfying
Omg, this is so satisfying
4:17 The sound of Legos screaming in pain
by my estimate, the last shot of this video (5:32) has ~$100 worth of light blue wedge plates, about $110 worth of bricks, going off bricklink prices. honestly a lot less than i expected
I expected it to be 500-1000.
The bottom ring should be 1536 individual a pieces. Not sure about the other one
This really is one of the Lego builds ever made
The patience is the most impressive part to me, but the ingenuity and creativity are still incredibly impressive as well

I love the outtakes in the last few seconds. It gives you some appreciation of the considerable effort, frustration, and production value of what you've just witnessed. BB makes it look effortless, the reality is that there's ALOT of effort behind this kind of thing.
It would have been easier to curve into a circle with another doubling. But it also would have gotten extremely unwieldy.
Made my day. Bravo.
He just keeps on going...
*MASSIVE* respect
double it and give it to the next person.
I love how he goes from one or two pieces, to a 3 foot long combination of lego pieces each time there's a cut
Ok, you really got me with this one. I recognized the hinges you were creating there, so the flipping was no surprise, but that giant snake was not something I was expecting. Great work as usual.
Also looks like you could do with another set of arms for bending it into the torus at the end. 😄
