What can I build with 5000 LEGO plates?

- The LEGO build featured in this video was originally planned to be sold, coupled with an NFT (for provenance), but the details never felt quite right so I paused that plan. I know all the negative hype around NFT's, but for me there is a very specific purpose in using them as 'proof' that a given build was created and sold by me. We will see if/when I circle back to them.
The build in this video is 32 Petals / 4 rings.
Diameter: 85cm (33.5in)
Total Pieces: 1792
This build is part of a series. '32 Petals / 3 rings' is claimed, and '32 Petals / 5 rings' will remain part of my permanent collection for future exhibitions.

My wife and I were trying to estimate so we could build our own. but lego right now has paused pick a brick.. so maybe their short black plates.
I once purchased 100,000 black plates for a commissioned artwork. This is nuthin' 😂

There are reasons why NFT's could be a game changer for all artists of all varieties, but I get the negative downside of NFT's right now. This is an experiment and we'll see how it plays out.

I don't personally understand the NFT craze, but as a technology for empowering artists it has real potential. But this is an experiment. We'll see how it plays out in reality.

@@BrickBending it played out HUNDREDS OF TIMES and every time it just ends with a huge loss for the creator or them (un)intentionally scamming their fans. This whole NFT stuff really makes me lose almost all respect and trust i had in the creator. It's just buying useless stuff while actively damaging the enviorment even more than it already is and every attempt at making NFTs less impactful on the enviorment has either failed or minimally reduced the damage caused.

I always feel like this guy makes something, then makes a replica of it off-screen, and attaches the two together, then makes a replica of it, etc. until it’s something huge

Honestly I don't think it's that bad. The NFT here is just to verify the purchase, and the sculpture is actually going to be shipped to the buyer. This is miles better than what NFTs normally are like

On average, how long does it take to brainstorm a build, & how long does it take to build the build? I can't imagine having the patience to come up w any of these builds myself.

@3.00 I was sure there was going to be a movement somehow even though it all looked very rigid. It turned out to be some movement later but not what I anticipated. Again, I was astonished by what was created and I could not foresee it this time either...

In the long run NFT's could be very powerful tools for artists. But I appreciate the problems they have right now.
I have to add my two cents on this matter.
1. Your computer is Lego. You don't need Grasshopper 3D for these geometrics designs. However I do need a PC and Rhino 7 with Grasshopper 3D for such exercises.
2. Your method uses Kangaroo Physics without using the Grasshopper extension. You may look the work of Antonio Gaudi and his funicular cable hanging models. Your strategy is a valid strategy for campaniform columns, oblique facades and twisted structures.
3. Your research IS serious because with it the model could be reused over and over and over without cutting or gluing. Ideas are modified physically. All results are iterative.
4. Everything is modular since LEGO is modular so is architecture. Your design style is USEFUL, completely for architecture. What is done in LEGO can be done in Grasshopper, laser cut, 3D printed and modified for greater detail.

In the description is written "I will ship the original artwork to the buyer anywhere in the world" I was referring to this as I think that's not an NFT.

I'm just dipping my toe in these waters, but NFT's can be sold in different ways--an auction is just one of them. In my situation the NFT is proof that I sold someone an original artwork, and if that person ever resells my artwork (along with the NFT) I will get paid a percentage of that resale. My work is easily copy-able, and I want people to copy it and put beautiful pieces of LEGO art on their own walls, but the NFT is what distinguishes my original artwork from all the copies. At least that's the theory. We shall see how it plays out in the real world.
If he is using Real LEGO then i will give an award for him
