A massive, crazy, LEGO build

  • I recently renamed this creation to ‘The Mega Noodle Torus’ (that name just sings, right?) as it’s a LEGO noodle build I’ve had for many years, but its only in the weeks before making this video that I’ve finally added enough bricks to connect it as a full torus.
This variation of the LEGO noodle technique is more rigid than the others, and I deliberately kept the length as short as possible in order to make the final build as rigid as I could-otherwise it would really sag under its own weight (more than it already does). And this thing is heavy-I almost pulled a muscle making that final connection 😂
And although it’s crazy weird and has a lot of interesting and strange properties, it really is a beautiful build. And doing it in lime green and yellow definitely made it more fun. I can’t wait until I make this thing even BIGGER. 😁
    Torus diameter: ~23.25in / 59cm
    Torus inner circumference: 168 studs

The fact that it sags a bit when it’s a wheel means that he can actually make it with fewer parts and tighter. That’s a scary thought

But the sagging is good, because if he were to strengthen the center, and build 4 more plus the rest of the car, then having wheels with a little give is a necessity. As small objects won't ruin the wheel that way by putting too much stress into the system. That's why we use Rubber Tires. Because they have a lot of give.

This comment is a year old, but I'm gonna respond anyway: It's not actually the lighting, but rather involves the frame-rate of the video, and is called the Wagon Wheel Effect. You can look it up for more information, but basically the ratio between how frequently still images are captured in the video and how fast a wheel spins determines whether the wheel appears to be rotating forward, backward, or even staying still when viewed back.

Every build has a money shot (or a few) that goes from 0-100, it's great. You can always tell when he's about to introduce the B E N D that shows the build off.
