You are my favorite lady woodturner and you just solidified your standing with me by poking fun at yourself when you had to cut the mold away from the subject piece. I look forward to your videos every week because you take the time to EXPLAIN WHAT TOOL you are using and you show the resharpening of the tools. I wish more turners were like you and Rod Humphreys because he also EXPLAINS WHY he chose to do something a certain way.
What more can i say than another absolutely beautiful piece good colour and great shape . Looking forward to the next piece . Look after yourself and have a good day.
@@PFWoodturning Thank you for the message I try to enjoy each day as it comes I watch all your posts but being in the (middle stages of Alzheimer's Disease) some days I find it hard to reply or comment brain goes all (foggy and confused) so it's not always possible I wish I could do all things I use to do but on good days I try to make the odd walking staff(stick/cane) and also make a lot of things out of paracor which goes to help the local help group . Great job once again on matching the resin color and the wood. The darker color makes the lighter wood stand out. It is a beautiful vase. I think taking some of the curly wood shaving and just adding resin to them would make a great looking object. I would try it but have never used resin just wood. And you seem to have a special talent for that type of turning.
Love your work, thanks for all the links. It’s nice to actually find some tools other turners use, and tht ive has difficulty finding. Just getting my feet wet turning, pens at the moment. Keep up the beautiful work!
A couple of points. First of all: Beautiful vase. Secondly, I don't know how you keep your hands looking so pretty, working with wood like this. And lastly; I would like to see the whole process of boring with the Forstner bit in real time, as this is my favorite part. Peace.
I've experienced the same difficulties of getting a bucket to release what is inside. Usually it is because it is drawing a vacuum. In these instances I can either punch a hole in the bottom of the bucket or else place my air nozzle on the side of the object in the seam created with me screw driver and spray compressed air down the side which will usually "pop" it out. Very nice work, as usual.
Beautiful, Peggy. The resin color and the wood color really compliment each other. The resin lines between the pieces of wood also add visual interest like they are dark grain lines.
I wrote to you in the comments, are you interested in participating with me to create an art group that shares artwork .. and exchanges .. trade between them
You Did a Fine Job, the Color looks great. Some day I am hoping to make something as beautiful. I did my first walnut bowl the other day still need more practice, + have to purchase something to sharpen my tools..
The wood is a lovely warm colour which is highlighted by the collar of resin around the top. I really like the idea of there being a mainly wood based vase with the resin around the top. Again, something just a little different from Peggy. Thanks for that.
I'm not a wood turner, but just from a design standpoint, I always find myself thinking of a different way I might have done it. It would have been nice to leave the red heartwood on there as an extra feature as you mentioned in the beginning. I really like the color of the resin. It would have gone nicely with a darker wood color as well. Thanks for the video.
My heart sinks when Purpleheart is used for things like that. I love that wood, difficult to get in the UK and not cheap either. Another lovely turning though.
Nice job Peggy, tip for the future! if you don't have mold release use some cooking oil rubbed into the mold. your project should come out a lot easier.
@@PFWoodturningthe solution is very simple :). the surface must be absolutely flat. Never use rotary grinding, but only grinding belt. By the way you're doing a beautiful job.
What a gorgeous vase!!!!! The color combination is perfect and the lines in the sides are a wonderful detail. The base (in my opinion) just needs something more, like a flared out base, maybe a short pedastool base.
I admit I had my doubts early on, but it ended up a really quite elegant design. Very restrained, but allowing the beauty of the materials to be amplified by their juxtaposition. It would not look out of place in a Mies van der Rohe home Peace out
Asl always, this turned into a very nice artwork Peggy. It is always hard to see from the start what it will be, but i am always pleasantly surprised. Thank you for sharing. 🌷
Beautiful piece. I just began messing around with some resin, Im a big fan so far. I also received my first Carter and Sons gouge, and Im slackjawed at the quality of the tool, and how well it works. I also took the plunge into the Acks sanding and polishing pools, and Ill tell you what, that stuff is well worth the money!!!!! I blame you for both lol!!!
Nice vase Peg. The color of the resin goes great with the wood color. I’ve been doing some hybrid resin/wood pieces lately that incorporate a Miliput accent stripe (a thin one) between the resin and the wood. I find it adds a little visual interest to a piece when there’s not much figure or grain features in the wood.
The dude over at Pohl Barn Productions uses an air compressor to blow air into his casting container to loosen things up and get the piece out easier. It seems to work well. Might be worth looking into if you're going to do a lot of resin work.
Boy was this a welcoming video. With all the crazy crap going on right now with people reacting the way they are and the government imposing rules in certain areas, a nice PFW to at least temporarily leave the worries behind is just what I need. Thanks again for your entertaining and calming personality although you did get a little wild removing your cast bucket :)
Very nice effect with the blocks of wood! I thought that the coral coloring would be more of a pink color. Nonetheless, the color is a great match with the wood.
Nice Work
Thank you! Cheers!

the colors of the wood and in the resin seem to work well together. very nice!

Beautiful Vase and the resin color makes it look on fire. Great job Peggy! - Ed
Thanks so much 😊
Very nice, I'm not usually a fan of Resin, but this came out very nice, great to see you trying different things.
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Beautiful piece and the color tops the wood grain nicely
Thanks!

Peggy, I like this turn!!! The color is absolutely stunning. The color of the RESIN is perfection. The turn COULD NOT be any better!

New to your channel but definitely want to watch all your work.
Awesome, thanks!!
Thank you. Beautiful work and very informative
Thank you!
Very nice project. I’ve only done a few resin blanks that I’ve casted myself and I’ve used cooking spray as a mould release. Works well enough.
Great idea! Thanks.

Muy bonito la resina perfecta👍
Thanks!
That’s really pretty. If it was here in Texas, it would be just right size for a glass of iced tea, but a vase works well too.
Ha! A tall glass of iced tea!! Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I did try the air hose trick, to no avail. I did not punch a hole in the bottom, but that would have been a good thing to try!
That's a awesome vase

Really interesting form. I love the contrast of the resin and the Cherry wood. 💜
Thanks so much!
Beautiful, Peggy. The resin color and the wood color really compliment each other. The resin lines between the pieces of wood also add visual interest like they are dark grain lines.

Love it! It's a coppery coral!

Lovely, Nice job.

Really cool Vase, I loved the fact that you put three separate pieces of wood it made for a cool finish. Great job!!

Save some of those beautiful forstner shavings and cast them in something. Bet they would be pretty. Another great video Peggy...
Thanks, David. I do indeed have some saved.... ;-)
Beautiful!!

Very beautiful love it
Very nice job well done👍

Too bad it's so hard to get there! Sorry! Thanks for watching!

Nice piece, I love the colour of the acrylic, and I’m glad that someone else has a problem getting the branding iron to leave a “perfect” brand

lol. I was yelling something else.... &54#!

nice, thanks, does the resin smell ? BM, aka, woodbutcher

Beautiful vase...love that color you used in the resin...if you don't have any spalted maple i,de love to send you a piece that you could try..
Thanks, Stuart. That is very kind. I just turned a spalted maple platter---no more after that. At least for now.
Looks great👍👌 I wonder what those flower like shavings would like in resin.
Good question!

Beautiful job... might be cool to carve deep grooves in the wood and then fill with resin. Just an idea
That would be cool!
Beautiful 😍
Thanks!

The bowel is beautiful, thanks. I wonder, though, if you could use those shavings as a design item in another resin project?
Yes, absolutely. I saved some for that very purpose. Thanks for watching!
Why not use the pressure pot? Not being critical, just trying to learn. Beautiful work! Thank you.
Thanks. Good question--- it was because I was waiting on a new air compressor (which I now have).
Love the 3 stooges moment 😂 been there done that 😂
Right?! Thank you!
