I could totally see this Cell training Yancha during the match instead of actually fighting, giving him tips an all untill he got bored and pushed him out of the stage or knocked him out swiftly

I love how Cell has a soft spot for underdogs, It’s legit a very charming trait. Between Yamcha and Raditz in HFIL, Cell seems to like his “losers”
I think it makes a lot of sense considering he was in the underdog position a lot until he gained his perfect form. So he can definitely relate and respect those who are underdogs.
I like the idea that he knew Yamcha offed himself in the Future timeline and just like Goku tries to keep his spirits up. He's an android bug man, but even he respects men's mental health

What makes their dialogue so good is that its so organic even with its many layers of parody references, and orginal take on the characters. Cell saying "Yamcha for the love of god, don't thank him" is so perfect in delivery, Timing, and choice of words. It really feels like banter between real people. My friends and I qoute Abridged all the time in such natural ways when talking shit to each other

I like to think Cell's hatred for Tien didn't come from the Kikoho, but instead from Yamcha's repressed hatred towards him. Unlike Yamcha, Cell isn't trying to be his friend.

But it actually was Yamcha, which makes sense given Yamcha is the only one Cell actually likes, he would actually put forth the effort to recognize him.

I always figured Cell is nice to Yamcha cause in the Abridged, he's the only one whose cells he doesn't have. So he has a soft spot for him, cause he already knows exactly what everyone else is like because he has all their cells.

Yamcha honestly is bad ass, just hangs with the guys who are universal level. He still has the record of being the one who learned ki the fastest from none to kamehameha. Also the first to develop his own technique from scratch. also is the guy who kept fighitng the final bosses before goku showing goku their moves.

That's one of the reasons why I overall find it sad how Cell ultimately couldn't be reformed like Buu. Fat Buu's around and Kid Buu was turned into Uub, but Cell is just dead and gone. And I find that to be a missed opportunity because he would've made a nice addition to the Z Fighters when you think about it.

He's from the future, and in TFS' version of the Future, Yamcha commits manual self-delete.
He's nicer to Yamcha than the people who are actually supposed to be his friends. A trait the Cell Juniors clearly didn't share, given what they did to Yamcha in their fight with him.
Technically Cell came from a timeline where Yamcha committed suicide after finding out Bulma was pregnant with Trunks
You know, when i first saw this episode, i thought the one saying "Cell's back" was Krillin, and so the joke was that Cell could not differentiate between their power levels. I still think it could've ben a good joke.
Tien, Yamcha, and Krillen have always been about the same in power.
Cell probably respects that Yamcha survived a hole through his chest, something that killed Goku and even killed Goku the same way Yamcha was killed: Blown up by a weaker green monster doing a kamikaze attack. Only here the monster didn't stay dead and returned stronger so Goku's dead was more meaningless than Yamcha's death against the saibaman.
He really does care for Yamcha.
I know there's an alternate timeline out there where Cell wipes the Earth, then trains Yamcha and they become emperors of the universe.
Together, they defeat Dabura and kill Babidi so Buu never gets revived. Then Beerus arrives of Earth and makes Yamcha the super human god and Cell uses his saiyan genes to go SSG.
In the end, Cell and Yamcha become the new Goku and Vegeta for the rest of the show

everyone Cell is made up of is either cool with yamcha or literally does not care. So it makes sense that his disposition to Yamcha is generally "I'm still gonna kill you, but besides Goku you're the one I like most."
