Cell's a narcissist iirc, he doesn't actually want to fight, he wants to prove he can win so he can talk bigger and suck his own dick harder, and he gets this result by provoking people until they start the fight for him. That's why he loves any back-talk or signs of rage, any feedback that lets him know that his opponent is going to so angry that they're going to fight him and they're going to go all out. They harder they fight, the harder he can suck himself off when he wins.
When dealing with narcisists like these the best method to dealing with them is arguably just a more extreme version of what Gohan was doing, which is to grey-rock. Do not react, do not respond, be as boring to provoke as humanly possible. Of course Cell's a possible a petty supervillain so he'd probably blow up the planet if everyone ignored him, for situations like those then it's important to remember you can beat their ass if it really is necessary, but don't tell them you will, don't give them the satisfaction of thinking they can control your emotions, that's the most efficient way to a strike a nerve with people like that

@@gilzineto a perfect example of ferocity would be Super Saiyan Grade 3 vs Super Saiyan Grade 4/Mastered Super Saiyan.
Grade 3 has ultra spiked up hair, bulging muscles and a crazy ki aura. Mastered Super Saiyan however is a pale relaxed hair, with no aura without powering up, but is better than SSJ grade 3. Goku even fell asleep in MSSJ, which he's only done in 2 forms. MSSJ and SSJ4(even if it's non-canon)

Well Gohan did have help from all the Z fighters when he fought Cell.
No, he didn't. Maybe just Vegeta during the Kamehameha struggle.
To be honest, Vegeta rushing at Cell and needing to have his candy backside saved left Gohan half decimated. The least Vegeta could do was fire off a big bang attack as thank you.

I mean to be honest the whole fight to protect has been done soooo many times, it’s not really original anymore. Goku’s whole strong must fight does get annoying and boring but it’s different from your usual Mc.
9752matt I completely agree with you, I don’t like the way Super portrays Goku. For example in the anime they made him forget the senzu beans, while in the manga he actually brought them with him. Another one during the universe 6 vs 7 when Goku was fighting first and he couldn’t hurt his opponent and Vegeta had to say use your head and he actually did, while in the manga he was able to beat his opponent by using his own wit.
Heck when he saw that black and zamasu were about to fuse, he told Vegeta to stop wasting time and finish them off, then he threw a ki blast at them himself.
It’s like super made Goku such a boring and hated character, I actually think they completely destroyed character, so they could focus on Vegeta’s development. I mean Goku was never the most complex character but in super he’s just become trash. He has some moments but that’s still not enough, Toriyama needs to develop his main character better.
Goku is in his 40’s he shouldn’t be acting like he’s 12, heck in GT they made Goku and Pan have such a close relationship, while in super he barely sees her. Say what you want about GT but the way they did Goku’s character is way better then super ever did.
@9752matt it wasn't him admitting anything he genuinely does love fighting and in that episode says that and goes on to add that he's not a hero but of you mess with his friends then he will make you pay that's it.
Super just paints goku as what he's always has been a saiyan who loves fighting but cares for his friends. And is not particularly intelligent outside of fighting though I will admit that that scene in the goku black arc was a bit too far in that regard.
Also where in the manga does he say this to cell that doesn't sound like anything from it that sounds like something from the anime dub which tries to make goku seem like a hero.
The thing you go on about with frieza and king piccolo sounds like headcannon. Goku fights frieza and intentionally lets him power up to 100% so he can fight him at his best and even admits this to king Kai. I like how you try to bring around to grandpa gohan except it doesn't work and falls apart if you actually think about what your saying. And as for the king piccolo thing HE WANTS TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD what's this "too young to understand" nonsense. Also you called goku a hero proving you don't understand goku as a character nor did you understand the episode with 17.

Because stupid shit like alien invasions, androids from the future, magic bubblegum monsters, literal gods of destruction, constant tournament battles, and more future alternate timeline evils appear on what amounts to a 5 year cycle. It's not about it being lame, it's about the fact that Gohan was the strongest fighter on the planet after he achieved SS2 and while it isn't what he likes, it's basically up to him and the other Z-Fighters to protect the planet. Why do all these evils keep attacking Earth? No one knows, but if Gohan and the others don't fight them than no one else will, because they're the only ones that stand a chance.

Vegeta thought the healing pod would do nothing but Lord Frieza in fact was upgrading the pod when I was healing, he was very selfish Vegeta and now with Kakarot it’s crazy I imagine.” Perfect Cell says “How is Piccolo?” Gohan says “He can beat you!” Perfect Cell says “I can sense you have a new power based on your anger but can’t fully sense that new power.” Gohan says “It’s been around even before you but I mastered it.”

Edit: Also people saying he's too weak. He was Nearly SSJ2 level when he got killed, and he's got Saiyan DNA. That's more than can be said of half the fighters. The Tournament of Power had all the major obstacles of Goku's journey throughout Dragon Ball and DBZ, but they skipped over Cell and Buu for some dumb ass reason.

Not exactly. Frieza clearly bears some villainous respect for Goku. Frieza still aims to kill his enemies, but would likely remember Goku as a worthy opponent.
On the other hand, Cell speaks for the audience, disappointed with how Gohan stopped pursuing more power and became a less compelling character.

I agree that the graphic designers for this game definitely had to be DBZ fans; they practically converted the original DBZ manga and anime illustration style into a modern graphics engine made specifically for this game.
However, the plot writers for this game are definitely not real DBZ fans because the plot in this game is complete garbage.
I know this for certain because I have counted multiple DBZ plot contradictions throughout this game and no true DBZ fan would *ever* put _that_ into this game knowingly.
Ross Davis DBS also has plot contradictions (a LOT of them), so.... it doesn't matter if you're a fan or not. Not even the author gives a shit about it.
You know what was always funny about Cell? He was more cocky and arrogant than Frieza at every stage of his evolution DESPITE the fact he can sense power levels. Frieza thinking he was invincible at his max was at least somewhat excusable because he couldn't sense Goku's power and figure out that he was still outclassed. But Cell? Cell had the full ability to sense the power levels of everyone (except 16) yet he STILL spent his whole existence belittling everyone and insisting he was invincible. Even against Vegeta the first time, who stomped his face in, and Gohan, who he couldn't even touch. Of all the villains in all of DBZ's history, none embody the term "delusional" more than Cell.

It's what makes him the most entertaining antagonist in Dragon Ball, constantly bragging about his "perfection" yet you know he gets bodied by anyone post Cell Saga.
Digipal5 Even during the android/cell saga - before he ever fought Gohan - he got beat up by 16, Vegeta, Trunks, almost vaporized by Vegeta, almost vaporized by Goku. He gets beaten *four times* before his final defeat and still has the cast iron balls to gloat all the way up to the part where he loses for the fifth time :P

I like how the majority of villains and even the Z-Fighters always fix their issues through battle and threats, but Gohan is always the bigger man since he's by far the most intelligent. He doesn't need to throw punches to put people in their place and that's what I love about him.
Not really, he became too arrogant when he was fighting both Cell and Super Buu just because he was stronger than them. The only character that actually finishes people off without trying to spare them or toy with them is Future Trunks.
Piccolo's the most level headed of all of them, next to Tien.

Gohan's far too dominated by his human side, and that's why he struggles. His loved ones shouldn't just be his reason to fight but also his reason to keep training and getting stronger. He's been fighting since he was 5 1/2 years old. One would think by now he'd realize that there's ALWAYS going to be someone stronger out there wanting to DESTROY all that he loves.

Goku likes taking on big challenges and becoming stronger, Vegeta the prideful boastful prince of the Saiyan race is also willing to battle to become stronger and having Goku be his biggest competition. It’s in there blood to be hyper competitive warriors, Gohan on the other hand doesn’t have that edge nor warrior spirit because he is overwhelmed by his human vulnerabilities too much I blame his mother though look how he was raised up watching the episodes after the cell games smfh

Mystic gohan doesn't overflow with ki like any of the super saiyan transformations. That's why. Goku mentions this after Gohan goes mystic

that's one of the best character interactions in the game, hands down! Cell's playfulness as he's just teasing Gohan to try and lull out his true strength and Gohan's stern seriousness is conveyed perfectly through the stellar voice acting, and I love the slight bits of character animation like Gohan not even paying attention to Cell when he was charging up his Ki blast, and when Gohan gave Cell the Stink eye after threatening his family. This game's story mode was honestly better than expected, because even though it is fairly repetitive there are some really nice character moments and the voice acting is usually really good. Overall I'd highly recommend anyone to check it out if you have the game, if not just to unlock Android 21 but also just to experience this quite unique Dragon Ball story in all it's glory.
Cells design is so classic, truly great and unforgettable.

It's not a case of "how strong COULD he get", because Buu probably has even more potential than both Cell and Frieza. It's a case of "how strong would he realistically get". Cell and Buu don't train, and thus they've squandered their near limitless amounts of potential. He dies to Ultimate Gohan due to arrogance alone.
@@kingp260 When Cell teleported back he was near Gohan's power and ascended beyond Super Saiyan. Which it was originally called before the term SS2 was created. He does have access to the Saiyans physiology and likely he can access forms similar to SSJ. I don't see a power up similar to Golden being out of his reach. If I remember the translation correctly Frieza said that he chose the color. Cell has Frieza's cells and it wouldn't be absurd to think that it isn't a possibility, but we won't know unless they make a story arc.
I am not sure how you get to pick and choose what canon we get to frame our speculations with? You say the electricity isn't canon because it was an artistic choice in the anime when Cell was meant to be on that ascended level. A little different than a filler scene/episode that didn't happen at all in the Manga. That artistic choice was meant to tell the exact same story. Yet it is perfectly fine to speculate that Cell would behave in a similar way that he did in DBGT which is the farthest from the canon.
Cell has proved to be patient and calculating we have seen it before in his Imperfect forms. Being Perfect did bestow some arrogance onto him. However he has lost before to Gohan. He isn't stupid and knows that the Siayans are always improving, he has first hand witnessed what massive jumps Vegeta and Trunks made in the time chamber. He knows that he needs to gain power.
A more realistic speculation is if they ever brought him back they would bring him back in a significant capacity. Having both Toyotaro and Toriyama I doubt that they would waste something with potential just to do a cheap cameo where he then "dies in 30 seconds". A more likely than not scenario.
As for the Buu comment I totally agree with you. He likely has massive potential. Although I am still not a fan of how ridiculously Super has handled granting off the charts boosts to characters to further the plot and wish that more care was put into the powers scaling.
We really should've had Cell in the Tournament of Power. He could beat Jiren with his words alone.

I’m uncertain if this meant Perfect Cell or his “Super Perfect” form after receiving a zenkai, but regardless Gohan during the Buu Saga prior to getting his ultimate form should still be able to put up a fight if not win considering he had only half of his ki during the beam struggle and was subconsciously holding back out of fear of destroying Earth at the Cell Games.
