It holds up fine. It does drag in the middle, but it always did. I will say that from the beginning of the movie to the first attack, it is a straight up, top notch thriller. I would put it up against any movie in terms of build up and suspense in that regard.
The dog scene is a mindless "hooray the dog doesn't die in an explosion of fire" cliche, but I love it. Being 6-7 years old in the theater, that scene made me have hope in humanity lol.
In a shocking turn of events John Candy is an amazing guy. I don't think anyone who ever worked with him, ever met him has a bad thing to say about him.
Bill Pullman seems like a very down to earth guy. Spaceballs is one of my all-time favorite movies (but I love most of Mel Brooks' films). I've seen it at least a dozen times and still crack up at all the jokes (and can practically recite the film from memory).
Wes Cravens The Serpent And The Rainbow I thought was one of his best movies ever for serious acting skills. Another underrated actor Hollywood has not given credit where it is due for his talent.
Jack: I'd say that she gets under your skin as soon as you meet her. She drives you so nuts you don't know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her. She would go all the way to Europe just to get a stamp in her passport. I don't know if that amounts to insanity, or just being really, really... likable. Peter: No, that's not it. [Jack looks annoyed] Peter: But she's gotta be really special. She's gotta be. And I can spend the rest of my life finding out why. [Jack leaves]
While You Were Sleeping might be the most underrated movie of all time. Pullman is superb in it, and perfectly cast, as the hard working overlooked younger brother. It is also Sandra Bullock magic.
LOVED him in Sibling Rivalry. If you haven't seen it...I've never laughed so hard at a movie.....his nerdy character in the hotel room with Kirstie Alley was hilarious. So underrated. So talented. Comedic timing was amazing. Thank you, Bill Pullman!
Spaceballs was one of the first movies i saw in the theater as a kid... and it remains a near and dear movie to me. especially growing up a huge star wars fan.
Bill is awesome.. ever since Brain Dead and Serpent Of the Rainbow. Back in the 80s. And his comeback to me was The Sinner. He proved he's the same brilliant actor from the 80s to the 90s Lost Highway days... He has always been awesome.
Shame they sidelined him so bad in Independence Day Resurgence. He's still bursting with charisma. That movie had a lot of problems but I think expanding his role would have helped a lot.
Pullman enhances every movie he makes. His relatively minor role in the second Equalizer film is nuanced and understated in sharp contrast to the scenery chewing of Washington, Leo, and Pascal.
Actors who can do everything, comedy, drama, action really are fascinating...ESPECIALLY those like Bill where we all know him. I never see him in anything and think "Oh it's Bill Pullman", I just see the character. That is such a weird, undefinable skill.
My favourite Bill Pullman moment was in Ruthless People when a police marksman shoots his tyre out and he very earnestly says to Judge Reinhold "That is a brand new tyre". Not funny to explain but if you've seen that film, you know
What Bill Pullman said at the beginning did he say you can’t handle the truth. And then he says “I believe in that”. I think most people are adults in this world could actually not handle the real truth.
Space Balls 2 idea : Lonestar trains , Barfs son in the ways of The Schwartz to save the universe from an invasion of cat people who want to enslave all of humanity to clean their litter boxes
So I was just looking up his filmography, and I just now noticed he was in Homeward Bound. I watched that movie at least 100 times as a kid. How could I not know he was in it? I must have been such a dumb kid, lol.
He's a famous actor in blockbuster films, but is not a "Tom Cruise" or "Will Smith" or 'Keanu Reeves" superstar. He's like a Kevin Bacon, Chris Cooper, Kevin Klein, or Joe Pantoliano. A solid actor.
I don’t know how well the movie holds up, but, god damn, seeing Independence Day in theaters as a kid was straight up mind blowing.
I saw it again maybe 3-4 weeks ago...Worried it might feel dated...Nope it holds up.
It holds up fine. It does drag in the middle, but it always did. I will say that from the beginning of the movie to the first attack, it is a straight up, top notch thriller. I would put it up against any movie in terms of build up and suspense in that regard.
You guys are making me want to watch it again. Thanks!

He’s absolutely high and hammered.
Awful movie. Ruthless People much better.
John Candy, what a sweetheart ❤️

Don't let them bury me...I'm not dead.
I have always enjoyed Mr Pullman!
Dude seems like he just has fun doing stuff like this. Great actor.
Bill Pullman as the real president, he has my vote.
Well has been in the movies *shrug*
@@NZWarriors1995 Bill Pullman is the type of guy to get a shrug. The type of president to say Eagle 1-Fox 3.
I love how his character described Lucy in While your were sleeping. Great cast, great dialogue, and Sandra Bullock.

Serpent and the Rainbow is an underrated movie of his. Bill Pullman is great in everything he does though
The chair...
Horrible.
It's a Halloween watch for me every year! (Along with Casper - what I'm saying is this man is staple of Halloween for me.)
I loved that movie.
*I WANNA HEAR YOU SCREAM!*
Was not a Pullman fan until watching the series The Sinner. Such a good actor.👍🇨🇦
The sinner was awesome.

I love the film Zero Effect
Thankfully for us, Mel Brooks new talent when he saw it!
Bill makes every movie better.
All Bill Pullman fans need to try to find and watch Zero Effect, his Sherlock Holmes-esque movie with Ben Stiller. Fantastic, peak Bill.
Grew up with the son of the writer of While You Were Sleeping. That movie is a masterpiece
Just love this man as a person and a great actor.
Let's not forget his unforgettable turn as the wretched Oswald Danes in the British sci-fi series Torchwood: Miracle Day
I love Bill Pullman. End of sentence !!
Bill, Always one of my fav’s
Shame they sidelined him so bad in Independence Day Resurgence. He's still bursting with charisma. That movie had a lot of problems but I think expanding his role would have helped a lot.
That was a sad 😢 movie
That movie should have been named, "Independence Day: The Search for More Money with out Will!"
Charming guy. Always adds something to his films.
“While you were sleeping” is a classic in the Frank Capra sense.
Between him and John candy making fun of star wars 🤣🤣
Pure comedy
Pretty legit in the Sinner. Spaceballs is ridiculously funny
spaceballs is one of my all time favourites. bill was awesome in it. you will refer to me as idiot, not as captain. i mean, you know what i mean.
Bill , I still till this day watch Spaceballs thank you Sir.
ever seen lucky numbers?... he was hilarious in that too...
what a cool man.... great movies!!
He gave the best speech from that movie. From the 90s his speech and Pacino’s game of inches speech from Any Given Sunday are amazing.
just a cool dude and one of our Gen great actors. thanks RE!
Pullman enhances every movie he makes. His relatively minor role in the second Equalizer film is nuanced and understated in sharp contrast to the scenery chewing of Washington, Leo, and Pascal.
I've had a scene for a movie in my mind for a long time and Mr. Pullman has always been my pick for a !ead character. Definitely of my favorite actors
It really was a good speech. 👍
Serpent and the rainbow is still my favorite bill pullman movie
He was pretty good in Bottle Shock too, nice hidden gem if you haven't seen it
Bill in Ruthless People was Award Winning. His Turtles Crockett and Tubbs still Kills me

Why no questions about his Schwartz?
Hollywood needs more Bill Pullman
Love this man!
How about a question from "surveillance", one of his darker characters. The part where he takes the girl's last breath is totally mind blowing.
I saw a film with him and Ben Stiller, I think it was called The Zero Effect? Anyway, just putting that out there. Great flick!
The Serpent And The Rainbow was awesome
One of the best movie monologues ever(independence day)
