I love seeing mistakes. Let's me know that I'm not the only one who makes mistakes. The secret to cast iron is to keep it well seasoned with oil. Eventually, it will be like a nonstick skillet. That pizza looks great.
Thank you so much. I just made an upside down pizza and my life has been changed! I used a pizza pan and a 'pizza screen' to flip the pizza over. I thought I could use the screen by itself but the dough baked around the screen. I brushed the pan and the crust with oil and the pizza fell right out without sticking. Beautiful.
Just add garlic powder to melted butter before you spread on dough. For Cast Iron, clean it while it is still hot. Then season it with oil and let dry on stove top. Pizza looks great, by the way!😊
I heard you should use a non scratch brush a hot water to wash out cast iron, NO soap. And then dry it very well and coat it with oil very well and wipe out the excess. If it's not too grimey you can probably just rinse in hot water and wipe out with a paper towel.
Thank you for this interesting recipe. I’ve got ours baking as I type this. It was so fun to make and I didn’t have to worry about toppings falling off the sides this way:) Love your channel and your fun fridge surprises. 😆🥰
Cast iron pans should never be cleaned with soap or pur in the dishwasher. Clean out the pan with a wet towel pat dry then coat several paper towel lightly on oil and layer the bottom and side of pan and the will keep your cast iron seasoned. Ive had my cast iron frying pan handed down to me thats over 120 years old.
A southern cook who does not know and use cast iron cookware ? Once it is season properly it is nonstick. Distributes heat evenly and last several lifetimes if cared for properly.
Right. And washing it too often is no good. An don't use soap, but do dry it well to prevent rust, and season it (keep it lubed) Crisco sounds like the best thing to use. You aren't really supposed to clean it everytime you use it unless things stick, just wipe it out good with paper towels.
Pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeños Oh, and lots of cheese Or pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, black olives, onions, and bacon 🥓 The way I was taught to take care of cast iron was to clean using only water and a medium to hard bristle brush with warm tap water, then heat up the oven to 400 degrees. Wipe out the remaining water and coat the pot or pan with bacon grease Put it in the oven until the pan starts to smoke and remove it and wipe out any remaining bacon grease with a paper towel. After doing this several times, the pan should be seasoned enough that all you should have to do to clean is rinse with water and and a bristle brush then dry on the stove top medium heat. You can re-season as needed. I have cast iron I only have to re-season about every three to four months, sometimes longer. Bacon grease or lard is the secret. Vegetable oil is terrible.
And our favorite pizza too!! You’ve got the zestiness of the pepperoni, the savory black olives and sweet tangy pineapple with lots of cheese. It’s the perfect pizza bite!! 🤗😋
That looks so delicious! I'm going to have to try it upside down pizza girl. Never heard of it but it looks delicious and quick and easy. Thank you thank you thank you thank you
We've been using cast iron for years, many failures cleaning and some re-seasoning over time The ONLY way to look after your cast iron and keep it well seasoned is to boil water in it after you're done coming with it. Use a stiff bristled brush to get any stubborn food off the sides, then get it warm (not hot( and use some oil to the oil it, let it cool port it away. NO SOAP! NO DETERGENT! it just removes the seasoning and encourages rust.
Love the idea for cooking it upside down. My dogs love cabbage, tomatoes, kale, wombock cabbage, mandarin, watermelon, apple, water spinach, Swiss chard, cherries, cantaloupe And pizza!!
Keeping a seasoned cast iron skillet….keep your cast iron skillet by not using soap or constantly washing it will cause it to rust! Take a paper towel and some cooking oil and wipe it out good several times and it keeps the skillet seasoned and rust free!
If you have trouble cleaning put grease in heat the skillet and then clean scrape it and shake the things out if there’s anymore left get aluminum foil and scrub
My grandmother used to take cooking oil to line the cast iron pans with oil and bake the oil into the pan. I don't know remember how long she did it. 30 min maybe. If anyone else's granny did that with a better process. Go for it.
I clean my cast iron with salt and clean wash cloth rub it with salt then wash off the dry it .then re season it with a oil and place in the oven to bake the season on it
Sometimes delicious dishes come from mistakes. I have a diabetic dog l make her food it's healthier and cheaper then the dog food from the vet. She loves sweet peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and her favorite is cucumbers. I have to giver the cucumbers after she eats her supper. If give them to her earlier in the day she refuses to eat her food. Smart little but dog l love her.
Dont use soap. After it's clean, dry it on the burner low heat. When it's dry put a dollop of evoo or cooking oil, brush it around and let it cool. Iike to put a piece of wax paper over it to protect it😊
That looks like a, lovely Pizza,I would use everything except the Belle Peppers which I have,an allergy to otherwise, keep up the, good work from Suzanne of Dublin Ireland
Let the pizza set up 5 minutes after removing. As to cleaning the pan, you’ll have to re-season it. There are a ton of vids. Interesting way to make a pizza. Good job.
Difficult to screw up a homemade pizza. All of the stuffing ingredients are already cooked. Fill it the way you want and when the dough is cooked, the pizza is finished. I would suggest a no-stick pan for easier cleanup.
I was, looking at the pric of Cast Iron cooking Dishes I thought they would have been more expensive but because it is cheaper does not mean it that Cast-iron is not good there very good so this is not a,Criticism Mystie and Kyle from Suzanne of Dublin Ireland

Leave the garlic that's the best part. The pizza looks good ❤❤
I'm definitely trying this. Thanks for the share. ❤
If you ever spill seasoning, it’s never too late and you can pick it up or wipe with a napkin. Personally, I love lots of garlic!
Why is there a box of tissues in the fridge???
If there is a mistake to see it is nice to know that we can fix it. Thank you for showing us how to fix what might have been a problem. I love garlic!

Yep that's all I've ever used is iron cookware..well cared for.... raised my kids on it too ... and they grew up healthy.
The best sauce is the kind you like the most
Pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeños

We have two puggles that like tomato slices, saurkraut, broccoli, pineapple, baby carrots and cantaloupe
Wow! That looks easy and yummy
Excellent idea
Thanks
just the garlic incident worth the like, honest and natural
I try not to use dish soap in my cast iron , you can use sea salt and half a lemon and rub the salt with the lemon to clean

Wash your cast iron with water, no soap. Then put on a burner to dry it . When it is dry oil it with lard
Your cast iron won't stick .😂
I always soak mine in soapy water, then scrub it with a scouring pad, then run it through the dish washer.
Headed to the store!! 😊
Ragu is the grossest piece of sauce on the market. It tastes like spaghettios. Raos or Victoria's Marinara is perfect, a little expensive but worth it
If you have trouble cleaning put grease in heat the skillet and then clean scrape it and shake the things out if there’s anymore left get aluminum foil and scrub
Easter egg tissue box! I love this.
Clever idea🤗💖
What was the name of the pizza class you took in Rome? I am interested in it. Would you recommend it.
Cute couple. Good luck to you both.

Wonder if this could be made in a Bundt pan ?
We're all human and make mistakes, you are doing fine. Pineapple, ham, mozzarella cheese pizza, I love that.

I love pineapple for a change....this looks really good....i saw some of that video....so cute ❤
Leave the mistakes. You might try using a spoon to get some of the excess next time
It needs mushrooms and black olives!
I think I would try it with some black Sabrina olives also some mushrooms on it that pizza looks to all soon as it is
How did you keep from everything sticking to the skillet? I'm sure it's something I'm over thinking but just wanna know y'all take.

That looked good, I was definitely skeptical at first but seeing the result I would probably eat it

I'll have to try making this Pizza
Seven pepperonis? Criminal.
Ikr?! I did two layers of pepperoni because I didn’t have any ground beef or sausage. Note to self: Keep both ready to go in the fridge.
Even the dogs are crazy in this house
It looks good
The perforated cap for sprinkling garlic is in the lid.
That looks like a, lovely Pizza,I would use everything except the Belle Peppers which I have,an allergy to otherwise, keep up the, good work from Suzanne of Dublin Ireland
Ragu is good for budgets. Raos qnd vixtorias is the best
Mistakes are great we all make them. It's real life 😊
Do you have to use a cast iron skillet.
Let the pizza set up 5 minutes after removing. As to cleaning the pan, you’ll have to re-season it. There are a ton of vids. Interesting way to make a pizza. Good job.
Looks tasty but as far removed from an Italian pizza as is possible
Soak your cast-iron pan in plain water-no soap-for an hour or two. Scrape clean with a plastic spatula, and no damage to the seasoned finish. 😁🎉
Fun to see the mistakes makes you human like us
Most non stick can handle a 400 degree oven. Besides, who wants the extra chemicals? Cast iron can easily be re- seasoned.
I boil water in my skillet, and scrape with spatula
No soap
I love you are like us, we make mistakes too. ❤❤❤
This is much like a Hot Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.
Salt is a great way to clean out your pans!!
Read the mistakes and it's a lot of fun

Spicy yessss
Yes my dog likes green beans and strawberry juice lol
Heyyyy!!! I invented upside-down pan pizza 10 YEARS ago!!!
I stayed to count how many times i needed to trust the process
Yes to pineapple 🍍
Making this! I'm making it loaded, tons more meat and veggies, Thanks!

This looks so good, now I want pizza lol. Yes to pineapple 🍍on pizza. My favorite Pizza sauce is Contadina, but if I'm trying to cut carbs and make a Cauliflower crust pizza, I use Rao's.
Mystie I was, terrified for you when you were, flipping over the Pizza from Suzanne of Dublin Ireland
Mushrooms would be good.😊
I’m going 2 try that
The cut heard round the world.
Looks delicious! But I would use Rao Pizza sauce! Ragu is awful!
Raos Spaghetti/Pizza Sauce Us The Best...If You Don't Have The Time To Make Your Sauce From Scratch.
We Can Our Own Pizza/Spaghetti Sauce.
Always show how human you are and leave the ooppsies.😂😂
my cast iron cleaning: while hot: swipe with a paper towel. thats it. and be sure to tell the housekeeper!
