If you omit cereal until after your "goo" melts, it is easier. It melts more quickly. The cereal stays crunchier if you fold in at the end. Your ingredients look delish! 😋

Looks simple & delicious. I myself would've used parchment paper and I think some toasted shredded coconut would be a nice add to the mixture. Thanks for the great idea. 👍
I've used Golden grahams for this and they were good but very sweet. I used milk chocolate chips so you could use semi sweet if you don't want it as sweet.
Here’s one better yet, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and, after getting that chocolate half way melted down, aka/ put in a bag of peanut butter morsels. Then, get them melted down before you put in those extra mini marshmallows! Then, I’d drizzle those suckers with melted caramel sauce and, then, peanut butter and white chocolate, aka/ sort of like a play on tiger popcorn! 🍿

Yes, I agree, evap mik not needed. Add cereal AFTER other ingredients melt and mix together. Follow same steps as traditional krispy treats. It will be much easier.
I like the idea of using the crockpot for this dessert. I did first melt the butter ( cut into 4 or 5 sections), & smaller marshmellow so they melt faster and a little of that evaporated milk. When melted, I added the cereal & chocolate. I usually add the extra marshmellow at the end too. thx
This is crock pot smores. 😊 It looks like a lot of fun to make & eat but for a diabetic it would be a nightmare.😢 If you substitute graham crackers for cereal there would be less carbs which means less sugar. The dark chocolate is a good choice for it's intense flavor and reduced fat content. The large marshmallows look cool but it might be easier to mix up with the smaller ones and it would make it easier to reduce the amount used and reduce calorie intake. As a diabetic I always look at a recipe for fat and sugar content. If I can tweak the recipe on fat & sugar by reducing those amounts than I can enjoy the desert with less guilt. This option also helps those who are obese and trying to loose weight or for those who just want to maintain their weight. Happy eating!😊
Seemed like crock pot rice crispy treats with chocolate chip added. I'd use mini marshmallows, start with melted butter, and probably a different cereal or graham crackers sound good too. Then fold in the chocolate chips at the end
We've been doing this type of treat for years. You can use just 1 of the cereals and add food coloring for Christmas or Valentines or St Patrick's Day. Add leave out the chocolate or add white chocolate. Great fun,,butter your hands and TAKE OUT HANDFUL TO SHAPE INTO HEARTZ OR CHRISTMAS WREATHS OR SHAMROCK.

Love the graham cracker idea the best. Would certainly be a more appealing presentation other than a blob on your plate! Smores on your plate...yummmmmm.

This is like the Kellogg's Krispies cereal. With the marshmallows and also lots of goodies this recipe excellent. I've got to get a crook pot 🍲. Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍👍
You really don't need a crockpot to do this. It can all be done on the stovetop. You just need a good sized soup pot or Dutch oven (non-stick works best, but you can grease a regular pot with butter or non-stick spray). Also, melting the chocolate, jumbo marshmallows, butter and evaporated milk first, over medium low heat will only take 10 to 15 minutes. When those ingredients are fully melted and combined, add in the cereals and mini marshmallows, etc. and mix it all up well. You can then scoop the mixture out onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and put them in the fridge for a couple of hours. You could even put the mixture into a 13" × 9" baking pan, spread it out as evenly as you can and after the whole thing is set, cut it into squares like you would with rice krispie treats. Of course, they won't look like "cow patties" (which these treats are called) but they'll be just as delicious! 😊
Sugar is addicting. With that being said we do not make it every day and most times not even yearly! We're into coconut sugar and plain flakes and not so sweet cereal.... you can use your own common sense.
I wouldn't use frosted flakes, but maybe corn flakes or wheaties and chex cereal and I would put the cereal in at the same time as the mini marshmallows.
