There is something that I like about crowler. Despite being a jerk at the start he learned to be a better teacher from his students. A fact he mentions to Bonaparte. I ended up respecting him as a character and there also a line of his that seems to embody him. "I may be hard on them, but I see potential in all my students."
Season 4 where he’s trying not to let the student graduate he’s in the wrong but it is wholesome why he’s doing it cause he doesn’t want them to leave him (even when dueling judai he’s sentimental to him)
Most other archetypes: focus on summoning combinations of one another for chaining several effects ranging from weird X-counter shenanigans, graveyard juggling, link/synchro quickplays, archetypal protection, etc Ancient Gears: summon golem and variants of golem then proceed to beat the shit out of the opponent Sometimes, simplicity just works.
As a person who ALWAYS uses Ancient Gears, I can assure you, when I summoned Golem against my friend, who had Droll and Lock Bird on the field (for whatever reason) it was the equivalent of shooting him in the face with a WW2 railgun
Chaos Giant is the honey badger of monsters. He eats Crystal Wing and Utopia for breakfast, and BA, Yang Zings and other floaters just make him laugh. Get a fortress on board, gg.
Ah, ancient gears. You beautifully simple archetype you. Slap giant monsters on the field and swing for game, no more, no less, and that is why I love them.
@@sumtenwitty6021 yup. I bet if they got an archetypal Magical Mallet that gives them 2 extra cards they'd be a lot more viable. The new pot is decent for the them to but the halved damage sucks on an archetype that focuses entirely on hitting stuff really hard.
Obligatory pinned comment to make up for things I didn't mention: - Geartown with Magical Hats makes funny stuff happen - People tried teching in Box to search Spyral Drone but soon realized that's too silly; you can also search all Deskbots with it - Gold and Silver Gadget are somewhat decent options in combination with AG Gadget and Machine Dupe, at least if you're going for Link and Rank4 plays (although I mostly got sidelined on this due to focusing on the OTK aspect)

Legit the other week I was fighting a HERO deck with Ancient Gears on the losing end had only 200 life points the other guy had a full bar and a Sunriser Decimator Bane and Adoration on field I used Overload Fusion to summon a Chaos Giant and proceeded to OTKed him in the most extreme comeback I've ever experienced

actually they dont appear to have an order, we just got retrained Surge of Radiance and now we're getting retrained Curse of Darkness, which came out after. and we've already had AG and Dinos which came before either of those retrained
Macho Pony there's an order, the reason for the skip was because they wanted a SD-R to tie in with Yugioh ArcV. So they briefly skipped to Ancient Gears for the sake of a tie in episode where one of the villains literally ran the AG Structure Deck R, boss monster and all. Instead of his usual deck. We are back on track now. With the next R being the WIND SD.
I love Ancient Gears and Crowler, so I am very glad to see this video. Good job Rata! The only thing I don't love is "Ancient Gear Golem - Ultimate Pound" 's TCG name. "Ultimate Pound" is AGG's attack name in the original Japanese anime, in the English Dub the attack is called "Mechanized Melee". Therefore, the TCG card REALLY should be called "Ancient Gear Golem - Mechanized Melee" and the fact that it doesn't bothers me to no end. Unless there's some "mechanized" or "melee" archetype that'll be released in the future that Konami of America knows about, I don't see any reason to not give the card its proper name. It's the only name change that has ever bothered. Oh well, ultimate pound at least gives us sex jokes. Speaking of which about that Alexis hent-- *destroyed by Ancient Gear Catapult*
Then again the Blue-Eyes signature attack spell in the TCG uses the Japanese name of the attack Burst Stream of Destruction. So it's not like Konami hasn't used the Japanese names of attacks on TCG cards before.
I dunno about that, but he did get 'consistently' good character development, unlike some other characters who just got weird mini personal arcs thrown in towards the end of the show.

As someone who bought Ancient Gear Structure Deck in 2006 as my first ever deck, no matter how bad the new support may be compared to now's standards. Gadjiltron Dragon is forever one of my favourite designs in the game
Ancient Gear Master. A Level 4 Earth Warrior with 1900 Attack & 0 Defense. When this card is summoned you can special summon one Ancient Gear monster from your hand. Ignoring the summoning conditions (Think Crowler in monster form) Ancient Gear Feline. A Link 2 Earth Machine with down left & down right pointing arrows. While this card is on the field Ancient Gear monsters cannot be targeted by card effects.
Something of note is: There is an honorable member to the Ancient Gear lineup. Similar to Gearspring Spirit for Gimmick puppets and that is: Magical Dog. This card lets you bounce a spell / trapcard from your opponent, specials summons itself from the hand or GY (meaning good disard fodder), Is an earth machine, has 500 Attack (meaning it is searchable by Ancient gear Box) and is a level one Tuner. This little doggo enables so many good plays for Ancient gear: 1) Urgent Scedule -> Reactor dragon + Dog = Level 10 Synchro: De Fleur. -> Revive and mix with 1 more earth machine to form Ballista, searching Geartown, blowing it up for a Free summon from deck. 2) Wyvern -> Box + Dog search. Dog + Wyvern -> Ballista. Searching Geartown. Ballista effect + Geartown -> Gearframe. Activate Gearframe: Search Fusion. Fusion summon depending on cards: (Only field -> Hauvitzer) (Field + 1 -> Megaton) (Field + 2 -> Chaotic Ancient gear Golem). With Dog + a small machina engine, you suddenly have access to quick field settup and Synchro access for level 5 (Wyvern + Dog), Level 8 (machina Fortress + Dog), Level 9 (Golem + Dog), Level 10 (Reactor Dragon + Dog) and Level 11 (Machina Citadel + Dog) Synchros. The rule of thumb is: Ancient gears adopt one doggo (since its effect is once per duel) _________________ Support Update on Dog: One Dog still has room in the archetype for longer games, but mainly acts as fodder for Dark Golems discard and material for Ballista. With Baron being banned, the next likely solution is actually to go full Kaminacat and put in trish. Because Geartown + Catapult = Dark Golem + Wyvern, Search 3 discard Doggo (Box Search Anchor Drill). Drill -> Tanker -> Commander. Drill + Golem = Balista, search Geartown, Activate Commander, summon Box, Special Doggo, Wyvern + Doggo + Box = trish. Tanker geartown, get Dark Golem + Golem. Geargiant X, detach Commander, Search Wyvern, GY effect commander, fusion Ultimate. But more often than not: You just use the doggo to get to ballista.
Synergies: Ancient Gear + Train allows for various beatdown paths, even the Liebe Smackdown (2 Trains -> Gustav 2000 dmg -> Liebe effect 6000 attack, with a Wyvern searching Box + Dog resulting in a Ballista which sets an enemies attack to 0. 2000 Gustav + 6000 Liebe = game). Also Scedule -> De Fleur. Ancient Gear + Machina gives more resilliance after turn 2 and some better turn 1 options. Infinitrack is ofcourse also a good option to combo. But an interesting Earth machine variant does not use them. This mixes Ancient gear + Trains + Machina for slightly worse Turn 2 power but far superior Turn 1 and Grindgame. A Tiny Machina engine helps with setting up the GY and getting bodies on board. Trains offer extra bodies and give more Protection (Dora). And Ancient gear uses BIG NUMBER to smash the enemies face in.

Ah, what's your opinion on Advance > Catapult > Normal Summon that can advance your play (Wyvern in this example) > Fortress > Tribute Wyvern to Advance to draw > Catapult on Advance > Dark Golem grabbing a combination that gets you Commander in grave and Duel in hand > banish Commander to play duel from hand. Mind you this is all in archtype, on you only need to have Advance in hand or a way to search it to start this play, as this is what I do since I play pure Ancient Gears.
Better: Geartown + Advance or Catapult in hand. Activate Advance. Search Catapult. Activate Geartown. Activate Catapult. Special Summon Wyvern and Dark Golem. Wyverns Searches Box. Box searches Infinitrack Anchor Drill. Dark Golem Searches Commander and Tanker. Discard 1. Normal Anchor Drill. Special Commander. Anchor Drill target Wyvern (Both lvl 8 now). Overlay into Number 90 for Nibiru Protection. Activate Commander. Mill Golem. Summon Tanker. Tanker summon Box. Link into Ballista with Box and Dark Golem. Ballista gets Geartown. Play Geartown. Tanker blows up Geartown. Special summon Dark Golem. Commander activates. Special Summon Golem. Overlay into Sargas (Golem + Dark Golem). Search Regulus. Play Regulus. Attach whatever. Tanker + Commander -> Dugares, Activate Effect 1. Draw 2 discard 1. Dugares + Ballista -> Little Knight. Ancient gear has some interesting lines for going first, but I would not go a Duel First route. And going second has way more devistating Duel-Routes. Including various ones that put Regulus, Dark Golem and Iron Wolf on field. Meaning you get a protected, direct attacking Ultimate AGG wit 3 attacks. Especially with Statue. As for staying in archetype: There is no shame in putting in some other Earth machines. Regulus is a good generic negate, Dog is a good boy, Anchor Drill is a nice Box target and Gizmech Taniguku has a ton of good targets (Golem, Dark golem and Tanker are all valid Taniguku targets).
Oh and about the start you suggested: (Advance + Wyvern in hand) Advance. Search Catapult. Catapult -> Dark Golem. Search Commander + Tanker. Play commander. Activate. Mill Golem. Summon tanker. Summon wyvern. Search Duel. Wyvern + Dark Golem into Ballista. Ballista search Geartown. Tanker target Geartown. Summon Dark Golem. Commander effect: Summon Golem. Commander + Tanker into IP Mask. Activate Commander for Duel activation. Endboard: Ballista, Dark golem, Golem, IP. Result: The same as yours + 4 Link materials and 2 Golems on board. Options: Duel activation on either golem. IP + 1 Golem into Knightmare Unicorn. IP + Ballista + Golem + Enemy monster into Underworld Goddess. Alternative routes: (Prior to IP) Golem + DG into Sargas. Search Regulus. Regulus summon, attach wyvern. Commander + Tanker into Gear Giant X. Detach commander. Search Gizmek Taniguku. Bounce Wyvern through Sargas. Sargas and Gear Giant X into Plat Gadget. Summon Taniguku. Lay Tanker ontop of your deck. Ballista + Taniguku into IP. Taniguku effect: Remove, summon Dark Golem from GY. Remove commander: Get duel. Endboard: Regulus, IP, Plat gadget, Dark Golem + Duel. One more negate and for the follow up: You got Wyvern back in hand. Meaning next turn you can (If your board was wiped): Wyvern -> Advance search cata. Advance destroy wyvern, draw. Cata into advance: Summon Tanker. Effect: Summon DG from the GY (opponent monster clause) DG search geartown and fusion. Geartown, Tanker effect. Summon commander from GY. Commander, effect Summon anything (Let us assume worst case: Box). Box + Tanker into Ballista. Ballista search geartown, Effect destroy GT, Summon Dark Golem. Commander summon Golem from GY. Activate Fusion, target Dark Golem. Summon Chaos AG Giant. Battle: Chaos clears the board. Ballista + Golem + commander is another 6+k dmg (Tanker boost).

I love Ancient Gears. In an era of mass swarming and non-battle removal, it's really nice to be able to just sit back and partake in the lost art of Punching Things Really Hard.
If we are reaaaaaaaally stretching for use of the "Ancient Gear" card, it can be used for a Rank 2 play... I guess? but a bajillion other cards can do the job much better You should also mentioned Power Bond + Limiter Removal + Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem XD It's insanely inconsistent and I usually lose before I pull it off, but it is insanely fun to use a 17600 ATK monster to swing for game
you do realize you can have ancient gear gadget be treated as gold or silver gadget letting you machine duplication into two copies of them to summon something like wyvern or gearframe from hand for a link summon followed by a rank four, or you could make something like borreload dragon or something instead. kinda feel that should warrant at least one extra point in the versatility category, since that opens the extra deck up a lot.
Now all they need is a level 12, unaffected by all card effects, and has more than 5000 attack made of 5. As a fan of ancient gears i also wish they had a boss monster with some disruption. Uhh…one can only dream…
I disagree that Ancient Gears have no versatility. Sure, they may not extend plays for pretty much any deck other than their own, but their nigh-universal backrow protection during battle and high ATK value make them good for rogue decks whose theme is to just have genetic stand-alone, low-synergizing effects meant to be played in a slow, outdated, non-competitive format (without all the crazy combos like 8 or even 5 cards long). I'm well aware I'm the vast minority of people who'd actually do that, but yugioh does have its rogue players. It's not like Ancient Gears are unusable outside their own deck like Burning Abyss are, they just don't really synergize with other decks- doesn't mean they can't be effective enough independent agents in their own right.
I think versatility is meant to mean the variety of the tactics they can use Just because you can put in an invoked engine doesn't make a deck versatile for example Drytron for example don't play nice with most decks but they are extremely versatile
If you're not running morphtronics gadget soldier is probably better. If you really want to be crazy you can even make Hazy Flame Basilitrice since gadget soldier is fire.
I find weird how he claims Gadget does not help either of the two archetypes. It can give reactor dragon both his effects (but then again if you tribute summoned that thing you were probably playing against sth rogue) and by changing his name in any of the other gadgets you make them summinable via machine dub.
KUNGLAO3 KUNGLAO3 I would recommend using Ancient Gear Gadget to tribute summon Ancient Gear Hydra and activate Dimension Guardian or other card that prevents destruction.

Reactor Dragon can also blow up your own Fortress/Geartown to shit out another Reactor Dragon which can attack, blow up another Fortress/Geartown, and shit out yet another Reactor Dragon for game probably

Macho Pony there's an order, the reason for the skip was because they wanted a SD-R to tie in with Yugioh ArcV. So they briefly skipped to Ancient Gears for the sake of a tie in episode where one of the villains literally ran the AG Structure Deck R, boss monster and all. Instead of his usual deck. We are back on track now. With the next R being the WIND SD.

The only thing I don't love is "Ancient Gear Golem - Ultimate Pound" 's TCG name. "Ultimate Pound" is AGG's attack name in the original Japanese anime, in the English Dub the attack is called "Mechanized Melee". Therefore, the TCG card REALLY should be called "Ancient Gear Golem - Mechanized Melee" and the fact that it doesn't bothers me to no end. Unless there's some "mechanized" or "melee" archetype that'll be released in the future that Konami of America knows about, I don't see any reason to not give the card its proper name. It's the only name change that has ever bothered. Oh well, ultimate pound at least gives us sex jokes. Speaking of which about that Alexis hent-- *destroyed by Ancient Gear Catapult*

Then again the Blue-Eyes signature attack spell in the TCG uses the Japanese name of the attack Burst Stream of Destruction. So it's not like Konami hasn't used the Japanese names of attacks on TCG cards before.
Funny enough, in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, Crowler calls the card _"Ancient Gear Golem - Mechanized Melee"_ instead of its proper name.

Crowler was the real main character.
I dunno about that, but he did get 'consistently' good character development, unlike some other characters who just got weird mini personal arcs thrown in towards the end of the show.
He was the only character that wasn't Judai to not get shoehorned in character development

Ancient Gear Master. A Level 4 Earth Warrior with 1900 Attack & 0 Defense. When this card is summoned you can special summon one Ancient Gear monster from your hand. Ignoring the summoning conditions (Think Crowler in monster form) Ancient Gear Feline. A Link 2 Earth Machine with down left & down right pointing arrows. While this card is on the field Ancient Gear monsters cannot be targeted by card effects.

Something of note is: There is an honorable member to the Ancient Gear lineup. Similar to Gearspring Spirit for Gimmick puppets and that is:
Magical Dog.
This card lets you bounce a spell / trapcard from your opponent, specials summons itself from the hand or GY (meaning good disard fodder), Is an earth machine, has 500 Attack (meaning it is searchable by Ancient gear Box) and is a level one Tuner.
This little doggo enables so many good plays for Ancient gear:
1) Urgent Scedule -> Reactor dragon + Dog = Level 10 Synchro: De Fleur. -> Revive and mix with 1 more earth machine to form Ballista, searching Geartown, blowing it up for a Free summon from deck.
2) Wyvern -> Box + Dog search. Dog + Wyvern -> Ballista. Searching Geartown. Ballista effect + Geartown -> Gearframe. Activate Gearframe: Search Fusion. Fusion summon depending on cards: (Only field -> Hauvitzer) (Field + 1 -> Megaton) (Field + 2 -> Chaotic Ancient gear Golem).
With Dog + a small machina engine, you suddenly have access to quick field settup and Synchro access for level 5 (Wyvern + Dog), Level 8 (machina Fortress + Dog), Level 9 (Golem + Dog), Level 10 (Reactor Dragon + Dog) and Level 11 (Machina Citadel + Dog) Synchros.
The rule of thumb is: Ancient gears adopt one doggo (since its effect is once per duel)

Support Update on Dog:
One Dog still has room in the archetype for longer games, but mainly acts as fodder for Dark Golems discard and material for Ballista.
With Baron being banned, the next likely solution is actually to go full Kaminacat and put in trish.
Because Geartown + Catapult = Dark Golem + Wyvern, Search 3 discard Doggo (Box Search Anchor Drill). Drill -> Tanker -> Commander. Drill + Golem = Balista, search Geartown, Activate Commander, summon Box, Special Doggo, Wyvern + Doggo + Box = trish. Tanker geartown, get Dark Golem + Golem. Geargiant X, detach Commander, Search Wyvern, GY effect commander, fusion Ultimate.
But more often than not: You just use the doggo to get to ballista.
Synergies:
Ancient Gear + Train allows for various beatdown paths, even the Liebe Smackdown (2 Trains -> Gustav 2000 dmg -> Liebe effect 6000 attack, with a Wyvern searching Box + Dog resulting in a Ballista which sets an enemies attack to 0. 2000 Gustav + 6000 Liebe = game). Also Scedule -> De Fleur.
Ancient Gear + Machina gives more resilliance after turn 2 and some better turn 1 options.
Infinitrack is ofcourse also a good option to combo. But an interesting Earth machine variant does not use them. This mixes Ancient gear + Trains + Machina for slightly worse Turn 2 power but far superior Turn 1 and Grindgame.
A Tiny Machina engine helps with setting up the GY and getting bodies on board. Trains offer extra bodies and give more Protection (Dora). And Ancient gear uses BIG NUMBER to smash the enemies face in.
Ah, what's your opinion on Advance > Catapult > Normal Summon that can advance your play (Wyvern in this example) > Fortress > Tribute Wyvern to Advance to draw > Catapult on Advance > Dark Golem grabbing a combination that gets you Commander in grave and Duel in hand > banish Commander to play duel from hand.
Mind you this is all in archtype, on you only need to have Advance in hand or a way to search it to start this play, as this is what I do since I play pure Ancient Gears.
Better: Geartown + Advance or Catapult in hand.
Activate Advance. Search Catapult.
Activate Geartown. Activate Catapult. Special Summon Wyvern and Dark Golem.
Wyverns Searches Box. Box searches Infinitrack Anchor Drill.
Dark Golem Searches Commander and Tanker. Discard 1.
Normal Anchor Drill. Special Commander.
Anchor Drill target Wyvern (Both lvl 8 now). Overlay into Number 90 for Nibiru Protection.
Activate Commander. Mill Golem. Summon Tanker.
Tanker summon Box. Link into Ballista with Box and Dark Golem.
Ballista gets Geartown. Play Geartown.
Tanker blows up Geartown. Special summon Dark Golem.
Commander activates. Special Summon Golem.
Overlay into Sargas (Golem + Dark Golem). Search Regulus.
Play Regulus. Attach whatever.
Tanker + Commander -> Dugares, Activate Effect 1. Draw 2 discard 1.
Dugares + Ballista -> Little Knight.
Ancient gear has some interesting lines for going first, but I would not go a Duel First route.
And going second has way more devistating Duel-Routes. Including various ones that put Regulus, Dark Golem and Iron Wolf on field. Meaning you get a protected, direct attacking Ultimate AGG wit 3 attacks. Especially with Statue.
As for staying in archetype: There is no shame in putting in some other Earth machines. Regulus is a good generic negate, Dog is a good boy, Anchor Drill is a nice Box target and Gizmech Taniguku has a ton of good targets (Golem, Dark golem and Tanker are all valid Taniguku targets).
Oh and about the start you suggested: (Advance + Wyvern in hand)
Advance. Search Catapult.
Catapult -> Dark Golem. Search Commander + Tanker.
Play commander. Activate. Mill Golem. Summon tanker. Summon wyvern. Search Duel.
Wyvern + Dark Golem into Ballista. Ballista search Geartown.
Tanker target Geartown. Summon Dark Golem. Commander effect: Summon Golem.
Commander + Tanker into IP Mask. Activate Commander for Duel activation.
Endboard: Ballista, Dark golem, Golem, IP.
Result: The same as yours + 4 Link materials and 2 Golems on board.
Options: Duel activation on either golem. IP + 1 Golem into Knightmare Unicorn. IP + Ballista + Golem + Enemy monster into Underworld Goddess.
Alternative routes:
(Prior to IP)
Golem + DG into Sargas. Search Regulus.
Regulus summon, attach wyvern. Commander + Tanker into Gear Giant X. Detach commander. Search Gizmek Taniguku. Bounce Wyvern through Sargas.
Sargas and Gear Giant X into Plat Gadget. Summon Taniguku. Lay Tanker ontop of your deck.
Ballista + Taniguku into IP.
Taniguku effect: Remove, summon Dark Golem from GY.
Remove commander: Get duel.
Endboard: Regulus, IP, Plat gadget, Dark Golem + Duel.
One more negate and for the follow up: You got Wyvern back in hand.
Meaning next turn you can (If your board was wiped):
Wyvern -> Advance search cata.
Advance destroy wyvern, draw.
Cata into advance: Summon Tanker. Effect: Summon DG from the GY (opponent monster clause)
DG search geartown and fusion.
Geartown, Tanker effect. Summon commander from GY.
Commander, effect Summon anything (Let us assume worst case: Box). Box + Tanker into Ballista.
Ballista search geartown, Effect destroy GT, Summon Dark Golem.
Commander summon Golem from GY.
Activate Fusion, target Dark Golem. Summon Chaos AG Giant.
Battle: Chaos clears the board. Ballista + Golem + commander is another 6+k dmg (Tanker boost).
Definitely fitting if you're not playing pure AG

I love Ancient Gears. In an era of mass swarming and non-battle removal, it's really nice to be able to just sit back and partake in the lost art of Punching Things Really Hard.

If we are reaaaaaaaally stretching for use of the "Ancient Gear" card, it can be used for a Rank 2 play... I guess? but a bajillion other cards can do the job much better
You should also mentioned Power Bond + Limiter Removal + Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem XD It's insanely inconsistent and I usually lose before I pull it off, but it is insanely fun to use a 17600 ATK monster to swing for game

The inconsistency is almost certainly due to you not using number 60 and Megamorph as well.
At that point, your swinging for multiple games
you do realize you can have ancient gear gadget be treated as gold or silver gadget letting you machine duplication into two copies of them to summon something like wyvern or gearframe from hand for a link summon followed by a rank four, or you could make something like borreload dragon or something instead. kinda feel that should warrant at least one extra point in the versatility category, since that opens the extra deck up a lot.
That's one card and it's only good with machine dupe. Not enough to make an entire point.

They do have disruption. Swinging with big ass robots for 4500+ is pretty damn disruptive.

I disagree that Ancient Gears have no versatility. Sure, they may not extend plays for pretty much any deck other than their own, but their nigh-universal backrow protection during battle and high ATK value make them good for rogue decks whose theme is to just have genetic stand-alone, low-synergizing effects meant to be played in a slow, outdated, non-competitive format (without all the crazy combos like 8 or even 5 cards long). I'm well aware I'm the vast minority of people who'd actually do that, but yugioh does have its rogue players. It's not like Ancient Gears are unusable outside their own deck like Burning Abyss are, they just don't really synergize with other decks- doesn't mean they can't be effective enough independent agents in their own right.
Scarm is used every once in a while outside of the archetype when they release a decent lv 3 fiend like the new dark archetype or even darkworlds :)
Also, I seem to recall there being a few Equip cards for Ancient Gears that this video neglected to mention.
I think versatility is meant to mean the variety of the tactics they can use
Just because you can put in an invoked engine doesn't make a deck versatile for example
Drytron for example don't play nice with most decks but they are extremely versatile
And now you can turn ancient gear gadget into Cyberse Gadget

If you're not running morphtronics gadget soldier is probably better. If you really want to be crazy you can even make Hazy Flame Basilitrice since gadget soldier is fire.
I find weird how he claims Gadget does not help either of the two archetypes.
It can give reactor dragon both his effects (but then again if you tribute summoned that thing you were probably playing against sth rogue) and by changing his name in any of the other gadgets you make them summinable via machine dub.
KUNGLAO3 KUNGLAO3 I would recommend using Ancient Gear Gadget to tribute summon Ancient Gear Hydra and activate Dimension Guardian or other card that prevents destruction.
