Look at yur video at 0:32, rear seat back folded forward. Use that stock seat back metal pan with cushion removed. Piano hinge an extension to the top of the pan (forward edge when olded down) to span the length where OEM seat battom cushion is normally stored, and add support blocks resting on the floor pan. add extra storage volume and full smooth sleeping floor. Raise seat pan into locked position plywood extension hinges backward to lay against rear of seat pan....opens volume for hauling larger items or other use when not in full floor configuration.
I use to camp in my xj once every month year round here in Sweden. I just remove the seat bench and place one of my plastic boxes (50x39x26 cm) on the floor between the back rest and the (in most forward position) front passenger seat. Then I just place a foam mattress. I'm 182cm and fit perfectly. Keep my fridge on the side. Thanks for sharing great content!🙂👍
About four years ago, I removed the back seat and framed up the small section where the seat was which is now platformed with an access point where rarely used items can be stored. While the rear floor area's provides us a place to put our bags which we keep clothing. In this last year, in the other XJ I chose to merely remove the lower portion of the rear seat as it's can be put back in when needed which can be seen on my channel for reference partially in my "silent tour". I'd provide a link for the large mosquito net if I could that fits over the drop gate while open during summer, but drapes easily over the partially open windows during other times for ventilation. I do plan on refitting the platformed XJ as there are improvements I want to make with different materials I now have more readily access to. Providing alternate solutions is always assistive to others as they wish to accomplish things. Thank You for the coverage on this topic. 👍🖖
@@MajorWeakness Not much there as so many have covered our model of Jeep, from every aspect. Only for reference as to how I chose to do things as I am still learning and approach it from a "open source/creative commons" way. Thank you though.
I’m gonna be living in my Jeep for a little bit thanks to some lovely complications in lIfe. Tested it out the other day and yeah, the down seat prevents me from stretching out. I don’t want to lose the seat, so my solution is going to be to make a riser out of something that I can collapse down if I need to put the seat back up.
I'm not sure how the 4 door works, but the 2 door's rear seat takes about 3 minutes to remove/install so you could store it on the roof or somewhere to sleep, then put it back when you need to haul people

It's good to see you enjoying the XJ.
Great video, I’m in the process of building my jeep for sleeping in it.
Thank you. Don't know why but this is my favorite form of camping!
With all respect Sr; I like your style, thanks for sharing
Thank you

It's doable, best of luck to you

You are welcome!
Totally GROOVY!
Do the screens protect from Jason Voorhees? I think I saw him next to the gar.
Nice score on the bug screens Major..
Yes they worked flawlessly, thanks!
Great comparison video! And Congrats on the 1000 Subs!
Thank you!
I was just thinking I need la window cover of some sort because it’s gets too humid and then you pulled out that package 😂
It works great! Used it this past weekend! The magnet bars work great also.
Does the tailgate open from the inside? How do you get out?
Rear door is how I exit, easy since rear seat is removed
Major, it looks like cheesequake Park!?
Oh no. About 1300 miles south of there!
Which park is this?
I believe somewhere in Louisiana. Been a while ago
What kind of mattress do you use?
I use a memory foam mattress topper I cut to size
See my video on it

It did look like that lake, Jason focused on the tent people, not me
