And how Spawn is getting constantly revised and retconned is also really in-line with how Action Comics 1 origin is different from Superman 1 origin where creators added Kents and actually named planet Krypton and little bit explained how it works with its people race of supermen being powerful even back on Krypton (yes, similar to Viltrumites from Invincible) and then in More Fun Comics 101 Don Cameron made it that Kryptonians were actually powerless on Krypton and only powerful on Earth. And in any case reboot in Spawn world in particular is pointless. There afterlife not only exists but people regurarly coming out of it and end up even more powerful, it isn't like in "normal" comics where death even just for a while is treated like a finite point.

I binged the 90s series and wanted to see what happened next in the story, it’s nice to see the cartoon is at least faithful to the comic. Such a shame it was cancelled, the story was finally getting some momentum.
I think my love for this comic went downhill the moment they retrofitted him commiting domestic violence on wanda so she lost her first baby. Its hard to feel sympathy for his loneliness when he's this bad. I was a lonely kid so I got attracted to that aspect when I discovered this all those years ago when I was a teen.
I think it adds to him being chosen by hell. A man who was an evil man gone to hell and given a second chance. All the regret. It’s a true redemption. It says even the ones who do the worst can become good. Not just the little mistakes, but the evil too.
Seems like it esp after issue 200. Sounds like that would have been a great time to end Al's existence. Which they did with the new angel/spawn but bringing Al back...yeah nah went confusing and started going in circles at that point
I have few questions. Mammon was one of the most brutal Spawn villains. He basically controlled his entire family tree for a century. Morana was planned to be perfect host for Spawns costume. Cogliostro was king of hell and he wanted to destroy heaven. WHAT HAPPENED? Mammon, Morana, Cog as King of hell al was forgotten. Satan and God came back like nothing happened. Spawns mother was alcoholic instead of cultist wo was manipulated by Mammon. Spawns two brotheres are never mentioned. Is this because of some legal issues like with Angela?

There are big summaries you put every now and then from one saga to another or 5 part stories. Besides you add some real extra information throughout issues that are not particularly explained in any of the issues you are explaining chronologically (only been revealed several dozens of issues after) - overall, though is a generous introduction for any newcomer with the franchise, I would say. I am half way, on the road to 300 so I purposely decided not to watch the entire video yet. Still this is the most informative narrative over the internet I have ever seen about the Spawn comic origins. Well done. I had thought about doing one like this. If I could just have the time for it.. NOTE Update: I finally reached my milestone and wow...I finally realized what has happened with the fan base over the years. Now it is crystal clear, as much as I dig the whole series. I think it is becoming more epic, year after year.

Hmm. Did *Spawn* comic series start off sometime (reasonably) near-after when Carnage first appeared in Spider-Man comics? I read a bunch of both comics back in those days. I feel like there is a familiar vibe and there obviously was an audience for it. And Spawn really took it. Edit: I checked it out! Carnage first volume April 1992, Spawn first volume May 1992. Am I actually correct in what I said just there…? I mean. The one month difference is too much spot on.
So after Jim's arc the comic goes back to what happened when Al killed himself. That's where God as a dog talks with him and brings him back to earthrealm. My opinion: Nah Al's story should have been over with his suicide. Perfect ending for character, at that point he had done it all.
