As someone that has yet to actually really play a game but has bought the core along with some expansions, your videos are very enlightening. The rules in the base game are kind of all over the place and it was a struggle comprehending it. Thanks for all the work you put into making this game more accessible for new players like myself.
Thank you for you advice. I just played my first game last Saturday. I had 2 MC80s, 1 winged MC80, 1 MC30, 1 Nebulon B, 1 Corillian Corvette, 3 xwings (1 Hammerhead Corvette came in just before the fighter phase of round 3 because it's package arrived) with General Madine commanding). Against 1 Imperial Star Destroyer, 1 Interdictor, 1 Victory, 6 tie fighters and the entirety of the Imperial II Squadron pack (plus 1 Quasar at the mid point of round 2). The Imperial squadrons were very effective, especially the VT-49s. Very fun. Thank you again for your videos.
Thank you! I've been researching the game, trying to figure out what limits there are to bringing in squadrons. Thank you for answering my question, and for making these videos. Keep being awesome, dude!
This was hilariously timely. I am about to introduce a new player to Armada today and I was wondering the best way to set it all up. I sent him a link to your video. Thank you muchly Sir!
Hey, Crabbok, can you do a new painting video for the Armada squadrons? You mentioned you paint them in the imperial or rebel squadrons 2 unboxing video and really want to see how you do it as I would like to eventually paint mine.
Alex Rex I tried getting into Armada but I underestimated just how much space you actually need for it. That's the main thing I wish people would add in these videos, that it's not a good game if you have very limited space.
It depends on how you approach it mate. For example, a limited space can be an issue if you want to display your fleet. However, you, just as I did, can keep all your models in a toolbox and store it on top of your wardrobe, or anywhere else you have some space. This is a really fun game, plus running an ISD hype for an SW fan like me is an opportunity no to be missed :) Hope that helps.
Storage space wasn't an issue. Playing space was. I only had a 2.5 foot table And that's really not enough space to really play with anything of the ISD or Mon Cal size (which was what I got the game for mostly, lol).
The Star Wars Questioner You can use a tray table or something for you cards/tokens and dedicate the entire table to the play area. My kitchen table is on just under 3 foot by 5 1/2. I plan on building a gaming table soon but for now the kitchen table isn't too bad.
is this worth the expense in the end , I have a gaming store near me in Atlanta and they have a meetup with people playing this , and it got my interest ....what is the amount of money one can spend on this game in total? what ship is the most expensive to buy for the game ?
Tiffany Fichtenbaum the starter set is the most expensive thing, costing around 100-120$ A single ship can land anywhere between 20$ and 80$ depending where you buy it from
does fantasy flight games intend on reprinting ships? They are OOS on so many of their products, how can new players hope to build the fleets they want to...
hey guys I need help understanding squadrons. when you come to using a squadron you 'activate' them. the tutorial does not mention how many can be activated in a turn. from other comments I noticed it is the squadron number on the ship cards but in the tutorial imperials have 6 squadrons and the squadron value of the VSD is 4. that would mean 2 squadrons would be left behind doing nothing. so how can that be right?
I'm pretty new to the game as well. But from what I understand, if you activate them using a command dial, you activate as many squadrons as your ship's squadron's value. But if you do not activate them using a command, you wait until the squadron phase where you and your opponent take turns activating two squadrons at a time to either move or attack until you are both out of squadrons. For this example, let's say we have four squadrons each. Neither of us activated squadrons during the ship phase, so the squadron phase begins once all the ships have moved. You can move two of your squadrons. Once that's done, I will move two of mine. When I am finished, you move your last two, and I do the same when you're done. The only time the alternating pattern will change is if one of us has more squadrons than the other, in which case you continue to move two at a time until you are out of squadrons. I hope this helped!
+Aurora07 doing a squadron command with a command dial, allows you to activate squadrons up to your squadron value. If you have a squadron token, you can activate ONE squadron. If you have a dial plus a token you can combine them and do your squadron value +1. After all ships have activated you enter the squadron phase, where all remaining squadrons will activate, but here they can only shoot or move, but not both. This is done 2 at a time, starting with the first player.
thanks guys that helps a lot. so if I move a squadron within attack range of another squadron they are locked in combat. if I moved during squadron phase can I not attack the squadron in range? but they can attack me if they hadn't moved that phase?
I think they should have kept Squadron limit at 100p even when moving to 400p games. The only thing I dont like about this otherwise amazing game is the fiddly squadron gameplay. I wish they were just tokens without the need for activation sliders or damage dials, and flat so not to interfere with measuring, which they ALWAYS do D: Oh well, I felt this way even when Armada was released and it aint about to change so this is just me venting my grandpa side!
All of our games now are 600-800 points. Actual FLEET engagements not skirmish fleets. We get together and with even our own customized scenarios... But yeah ever since the Profundity and Chimera came out, our games are only 600-800 points.
Since the release of wave 7 you can create a 400 point list with Thrawn and four star destroyers: 1 Imperial Star Destroyer Cymoon 1 Refit - Grand Admiral Thrawn 1 Victory II-class Star Destroyer 1 Gladiator I-class Star Destroyer - Demolisher 1 Gladiator II-class Star Destroyer Gar Sax (Mandalorian Gauntlet Fighter) 2 TIE Fighter Squadrons Total Points: 396
This Web site is a great tool for building fleets. It allows you to print-out your builds and bring them with you when you play. armadawarlords.hivelabs.solutions/ Looking forward to the advance class. I would appreciate a good review of the objective cards. Keep up the good work.

I've played a couple of times, mostly "Last Man Standing" and I'd really like to start using the objectives more. Thanks for this series!

Thank you for making this videos, I've been collecting and painting since release and yet to play but I do enjoy your videos.
Every time you said 'Commander' I immeditaly thought "Hello Commander. Welcome to the XCOM Project." lol
It's all fun and games until the whale, many cases of acute PTSD have resulted from that whale.
Got the chimera awh ya Thrawn is my favorite Star Wars character
I want a separatist fleet :(
That would be amazing...it would be cool to have some more factions.
Build a custom with mel miniatures models
Horacio Saucedo Elías Lucrehulks would be amazing....
Have a clone fleet and make a clone war space battle that would be awesome
3D printers are magical
Nice. I am new to Armada. It is good to get advice from experienced players.
Thank you so much for doing these videos! I just found out about this game recently, and your videos have really got me into the game!
Thanks for all of the wonderful videos Crabbok! My son and I are learning so much from them :D
Excellent topic. I really enjoyed this. Maybe you want to do a video on Imperial assault skirmish command deck construction?
Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for this video. It really helps to start building my fleet
Can you make an Imperial Squadron tutorial? I feel like they are nothing but cannon fodder compared to Rebel counter parts.
More squadron videos are coming.
Unless you are using Tie-Defenders/Tie-Avengers
Been watching almost all your vids. I've learned a lot. Thank you
Thx for helping me now I have the Executor/ravager
Thank you very much. This really helps since I'm a newbie player.
Nice vid for a newbie. You explained the basics perfectly.
Thanks for this, always helpful to reinforce the basics for us newbies. Looking forward to the sequal.

I did one awhile ago. ruclips.net/video/bki3qIH7mQw/видео.html
Crabbok Oh, I missed this! Thank you!!
Yes, this is what I was looking for. Thanks!
Watchin your vids really helpful
Brushing up again cheers
Brilliant video man, I wish it was up when I was starting to play Armada :)

Your awesome....
Another great video, thanks
Does anyone know is there a way to find other players in your area?
I want to play the game but I'm having trouble finding players...
patrick mcgurk - local game store. Walk in and ask. Most game stores have leagues for tons of games.
Can't wait for the 1,000 and 2,000 point games like in Warhammer 40,000.
Maldus Alver A 4v4 on a 12x6 table everyone with 400 point fleets would be sick. Just need to find more players in my area.
you think they would ever make a death star expansion?
Do you need three objectives for every game?
Great video!

where do you get commders do you get it from the core set
you get some and the expansions get you more
Could u use a quazar for the rebels?
And the nebulon on the imperials?
Bobby G Of Course.... Not
Bobby G read the rules in how to play
Can you have two/more of the same ship why no one told me

Dang it Thrawn's fleet had four star destroyers...
Guess I can't pull that off
not at 400 points, but nothing's stopping you from playing games at higher point limits.
my wallet is
