    I have small hands and arthritis and my fingers swell and I Love this tool. My first few times it was a little difficult but once I got use to it it works like a charm for me.

    I have small hands and arthritis. I love this tool.
    It is pricey, and I wasn’t sure about spending $35 on it. Hot glue guns are difficult for me, squeezing the handle on a hot glue gun is definitely NOT easy for me. So, yes I was hesitant to buy one of these. I am glad I did purchase one. I can control the flow of glue much better with this tool than I can trying to squeeze a bottle with my fingers.

    While I understand the manufacturing conception and other things you mentioned $35 is not affordable for the average person for that price I can buy at least 3 packs of paper, or a big wide roll of double sided tape, or multiples of other crafting supplies. Crafting is expensive when I weigh costs it's how many things can I buy at once verses buying 1 item for the same price. In time there will be a competitor or a knock off that works the same way for less money. It happens with every product out there.

      It's Au $70 here in Australia, which is a lot more than the conversion from US dollars. Although I have arthritis and I am having difficulty with using glue bottles, it's just too expensive for me.🤑

      @nicolalederer9517 10 месяцев назад +4

      I think you also need to figure in the fact that this (hopefully!) is an item you buy ONCE and use for a long time (like a die cutting machine or stamping platform) whereas your paper packs or double sided tapes are consumables. So that would also justify a higher price for someone who feels it offers a benefit for them. I do like the option of using it with any glue I like.

    • @tracylee4442
      @tracylee4442 10 месяцев назад +6

      Not to mention, arthritis. I think for people with issues, it definitely justifies the price. And I would totally sub my favorite glue. But doesn’t this come with a full bottle of glue? Which would is also included in that price point, making it more worthwhile

    I’ve tried it and the angle doesn’t work for me, given old hand/arm issues. I vaguely recall a reviewer mentioning that the angle could be a factor for some. The promise that it’s easier on the hand depends on the hand. Even if it was comfortable, the size makes it a no.
    Glue hasn’t clogged since switching to precision tips with built in needles. Ranger and other companies sell them in a couple sizes. When finished I dab the needle once with stamp cleaner and insert it into the bottle. There’s a trick to inserting it if eyes aren’t great, so that could be an issue for some. Thanks for the review, love them!

    Thank you for the reminder that in the crafting world, companies can't buy millions of units to drive price down... I was not happy with the price. Still uncomfortable with it... maybe one day I'll get one but by then maybe there'll be more choices. In any case, I was wondering if you plan to review the new tools by Gina K: Fuse foiling machine and Intri-Cut Die Cutting Machine. I was very interested in them, and I really like your review style. :)

    Justine, I always appreciate your honest reviews. And often it helps me determine if I should even consider a product! Though I purchased this one as soon as it came out. I have very small hands... so the grip is a little wide when I initially grasp the handle. But I appreciate it's ease of use when I have a lot of gluing. My unit doesn't sit perfectly on the silicone as others have stated... It doesn't clog where I would need a needle, but pools a little glue that I have to remove before next use.

    Nice thorough review, TY! I find that the pins I use, plus storing my glue bottles in holders upside down has eliminated any clogging problems for me. I do thoroughly wash the tops out when refilling, but that doesn’t take much time. I agree with others’ observations, everyone’s hands are quite different and what is a good fit and angle for one, may be quite painful for another. If any questions I would be sure that it is returnable prior to purchasing! 🧑🏼‍🎨😀

      I use my Bearly Arts Glue with this. The mechanism comes with empty bottle and I buy the large Bearly Arts bottles and filled the empty bottle it came with. Love it! I can leave the he press in the holder for days and not worry about clogs. No more pins and constantly unclogging those fine tips. I only use the fine tip and no need for multiple tips.

    • @klindstrom3762
      @klindstrom3762 10 месяцев назад +1

      That’s just it, at this price point it should work with the Bearly Arts Glue bottle. BA glue is the standard here. I do not want to fiddle with refilling glue bottles. Why not make the product work with BA glue? I’ll wait for version 2 or 3 that does. For now this is a hard pass.

    • @jtb8155
      @jtb8155 4 месяца назад

      I doubt they’ll ever make this for Bearly Glue. If you’re happy with your glue, and don’t have joint pain, then don’t buy the Glue Press. It’s a phenomenal tool for those of us with hand pain.
      The Nuvo glue bottle fits easily in the press, and it’s a quality glue - it just isn’t your brand, You could try to use a small bottle of BA in the press - some other bottles will fit the press. Why don’t you ask if anyone has tried to use a small BA bottle, in one of the forums? Then you’ll know if it will work. I don’t get clogs in the tip of my bottle, when using a Glue Press, so for me, it’s worth filling the empty bottle with my glue of choice. Some glues clog more easily than others - so not sure how easily BA glue would clog, if you put it in the empty Nuvo bottle. I’ve bought empty bottles, and use them with a number of products. The Nuvo bottle fills quite easily..

    I have had this tool for about 2 months. Generally I have been happy with it but, I found that as the bottle reaches the half filled point, squeezing the handle causes the glue to back up to the bottom of the bottle instead flowing out of the tip. Filling the bottle back up with glue results in the tool working again. So…….as long as the bottle is at least half full, I get good results. Once the bottle is only half full or less, not so much. I store the glue bottle upside down (so the glue remains in the top of the bottle) in between use. 9:40

    I held off getting this tool, but like you clogging was a bug issue with me- seemed like I was either always putting the pin back in the nozzle after each squeeze or constantly clearing the pin and nozzle. Drove me nuts, so I gave in and purchased the gun. For me a game changer!! I also have left it a few days without gluing and it did not clog. Only issue, if one, it does “bleed “ a small bit in the holder but one quick wipe and off it goes, no clog. I do still use a small bottle with a small tip for intricate gluing.Many thanks for your time an inspiration!

    Hi Justine. I want to add that the precision glue tips sell for about seven dollars by themselves so that adds to the affordability. I was lucky enuf to find it on a flash sale for a few dollars off-yea me. I saw a Lollypalooza review where her husband noticed that the Nuvo glue bottle was softer and easier to squeeze on the backside (fine print) side so put that side against the trigger for greater ease of squeezing. I find that I can get the teeniest drops with very gentle pressure once I get it started-small hands and arthritis are an issue for me. I burp the bottle by tapping the bottom on the table before putting the lid on it to make sure there is no glue in the tip so I don’t glue the needle into it. I have forgotten and left the bottle uncapped in the holster and base for a few days without clogging. The only thing I don’t like is that the capped and holstered bottle doesn’t fit in the base so I have two things taking up space on my table. All in all I love it.

    I have small hands, and severe arthritis. The Glue Press has been life changing. I make hundreds of cards, and I was having so much pain in my hands, that I thought I’d have to quit card making. I highly recommend it for those with hand pain. I also hated fiddling with refilling tiny glue bottles, unclogging the glue tips, and losing the tiny caps. In 3 months of storing the glue press in its holster, I’ve only had 1 clog (my fault). There’s no fiddling, no refilling bottles, no clogging, and no caps lost. I store it in the holster, without capping. In 3 months it hasn’t clogged or dried out. IMHO, it’s a 10 out of 10.

    I like it but it hasn’t resolved a clogging issue. I normally do not have a clogging problem with my glue bottles with a pin in them. I haven’t been able to use this glue without it clogging!! Every day I have to put the cap with the pin back in, wiggle it around and then squeeze really hard many times to get the glue flowing! I’ve tried pushing the end firmly into the silicone and nothing has worked.

    I purchased this press when it first came out. I hardly use it as it clogs regularly. I live in Arizona so not sure if that is the problem. As I use it, it will clog even during a crafting session while I am using it constantly. I thought maybe it is me but my friend tried it….clogged on her. I personally think it is defective. I did not contact My Sweet Petunia, I just put it away after I tried it for 2 months. If I have to use a pin, I might as well use a regular glue bottle that is lighter. I give it a 2 out of 5.

Also the arthritis in my thumbs prohibits any use of trigger tools. Just like the price for the Misti tool(way overpriced), I bought the Hampton Art platform at a far better price and it has been lovingly used for at least a decade Ü

    I’ve had mine for a while now, but I think the design needs more work. The cradle doesn’t hold the gun WITH the glue capped so you can’t have it out on your desk long term. It’s more for having it out while you’re crafting but you have to cap it and put it away and it’s really clunky to store. I was hoping this would be a quick go to glue solution to live on my desk, but it’s not the most well thought out design. I hope they retool it and find a way to lower the price. Otherwise, it’s not worth it as it is now.

    I enjoy using the tool when it works but generally speaking it’s almost always plugged. I tried storing the glue bottle with the lid on between infrequent uses and the pin became glued into the nozzle tip. After a lot of twisting and working on it I got the lid off but the pin came off the lid and remained glued inside the nozzle I had to soak it to get it out. All in all when it works, it’s great but 9/10 times for me it isn’t performing at 100% which is so disappointing. I live in a dry climate in Canada and it was a $55 CAD investment for me so I would not purchase again. Too bad because the concept is so great but it just isn’t great for me

    I bought this tool a couple of months ago and at first, I loved it. It is easier on my hand but it clogged for the first time yesterday even though it was on the stand with the tip touching the silicone pad. I used a pin to try unclogging it and that didn’t completely remove the clog. I took the top off the bottle and washed it and replaced the top. The glue still didn’t want to flow the way it should. I have to say I’m very disappointed 😠😠😠

    I bought this tool mainly for the ability to squeeze the bottle easier and the no clogging. While I do like this product, mine clogs all the time, really defeating the main reason I bought it. My Sweet Petunia was no help in solving the issue. They also mentioned environment. I have spoken to many other crafters who have the same issue (and we all live in different climates). I find that my tip does not sit completely on the silicone piece (many other have the same issue), which is probably the contributing factor to the clogging. I think the design is poor and My Sweet Petunia was unwilling to take any responsibility for the design & clogging. I try to spend my craft dollars wisely, but for me, this was a poor purchase.

      Are you sure you have the bottle pushed all the way in? If not, the tip will not contact the pink silicone pad, leaving the tip exposed to air

      @@bettyburns1520 Yes, and I have tried both bottles that came with it. The glue press does not sit in the holder correctly and the tip is always off the the side of the "bump". I can get it to stay on the bump, but it is not as easy as just setting it in there as shown

    I’ve had mine for about three months now and in the beginning it worked great but now the glue won’t come out no matter how hard I squeeze. I don’t know what the problem is. I made sure that it’s in the holster. I’ve made sure that it’s closed when I’m not using it, if I am using it and it won’t come out, I put the lid on take the lid off and I can glue one small area. It is actually taking longer for me to glue my projects, than before I had it. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

      I’ve had similar experience. The first half of the bottle was great but for the second half I need to squeeze harder and the lines of glue are thicker. I’m wondering if the glue has become thicker over time? It’s is my first time with this brand of glue and I find it works a little different than my usual. I don’t have a spare bottle to try another glue. The original glue presses didn’t say don’t use solvent glue. Basically with solvent glue it worked great until it weakened the bottle, then the bottle split and there was glue everywhere. And now no spare bottle.

      There are a lot of costs that go into inventing products - designs, prototypes, testing, then ordering in small quantities, etc. it’s much different for a one woman show to come out with something than a large company to invent something. So as much as her products might seem expensive, I’m quite certain her mark up isn’t higher than other companies. I’m so grateful that someone is inventing new things. There seems to be such a lack of innovation the last few years.
