Never thought I'd see a Kirk Rueter video. We called him the poor man's Tom Glavine when I was a kid.

That's the thing about baseball, you just never know who will be a part of a notable achievement or event

It's tom glavine's birthday today and he had 37ks to 37 walks in 2008 at age 42 (20 to 33 in his rookie year iirc).

He would work very fast. I went to a game of his in 1999 and it was barely over 2 hours.

His nickname was Woody because he looked like the cowboy in Toy Story

I remember Kirk had a rather goofy photo in MVP Baseball 2005. Say what we will about him, he didn't just throw as hard as he could and tear his UCL over and over again.

We will NEVER again see a pitcher like Bob Lemon, a Hall of Fame pitcher who walked nearly as many as he struck out, while still not giving up many hits. Bob Lemon was hard to hit but pitched to contact. He wasn't overpowering at all.
