i just got mine finally tuned today at s&r performance with this kit made 421hp/435tq on stock block at 8 psi thanks momentum performance amazing turbo kit one happy customer here
Yeah pretty much. The Momentum kit retailed for around $7k when they were still in business, +$1300 for the headers, +$1100 for the exhaust, so that's around $9400 just for parts, and then there is labor. Then you need a clutch to hold the power, which is normally 4 hours labor, but 8 hours if you wait until after you get the kit put on. My clutch/flywheel was only about $800 but the labor was more than the parts. So it gets to $10k pretty quick.
He's talking about wheel HP and they have a Dyno Dynamics dyno known as "the heartbreaker" because it reads so much lower than most. This car would likely put down more like 440whp on a Dynojet. But yes, a stock G will only do around 220-240hp on a dyno dynamics dyno, but will do more like 240-270whp on a Dynojet.
Because you have to build the motor which costs as much or more than the turbo kit/installation. The Momentum kit makes numbers at 8psi that most TT kits make at 10 or 12.
All you really need is the piping, all the other parts (turbo, wastegate, BOV, intercooler) can be ordered from a 3rd party. S&R performance is making single turbo kits now that are very similar, might want to check them out. The Momentum kit you were pretty much guaranteed at least 400whp at 8psi, which is relatively low. But with a built block @17psi I've seen them make 604/557 at the wheels.
No it doesn't matter if the motor is stock, this car had a stock motor. VQ35 can handle about 450whp max before you risk bending rods. This kit with the clutch, headers, and exhaust is around $10k minimum. But Momentum closed over a year ago. National Speed Inc in Wilmington, NC might be able to put one together for you still (it is owned by the people that owned Momentum), and I saw them installing them as late as 8 months after Momentum closed.
You're talking about crank HP, not wheel horsepower (which is what all dynos read). It depends on the type of dyno too, Forged has a Dyno Dynamics dyno (they call it the Heartbreaker) which "reads low" compared to a dynojet. A stock G will make 240-270 on a Dynojet, 220-240 on Dyno Dynamics. My G made 265/242 stock and that was the highest they had seen (dynojet). After Momentum kit/headers/exhaust it made 429/410. 406 on a dyno dynamics is really high, would be around 440 on Dynojet.
I got one of the last kits they had and it was $8900 including installation, but I got a deal since they were closing, I'm pretty sure it was closer to $10k before. But that included the headers and full exhaust.
Don't quote me, but I believe the hp would be same if not close. It would spool faster so less lag. The twin turbos would have to be squished near the bottom rear of the engine and would result in smaller turbos.
Also, the exhaust you have right now probably doesn't have large enough piping to support a turbo, well it might work, but would put out a whole lot less power. The Momentum exhaust has 3" piping, which is why I went with it. But it was WAY too loud. Added a resonator (+$200), still too loud, added high flow cat (+$250), better, but dropped from 429/410 to 383hp/369tq. Got it retuned (+$600) and now its 438hp/426tq. Supporting mods add up very quickly, I've probably put close to $15k in it now.
91 1jz r154 with a sard ecu putting a t67 in it soon, which is sitting in my garage. That's crazy that you also have a 1jz, small world... I'm in Texas, where are you located?
I assume on a stock engine it’ll be a smaller turbine for low end power. The blow off valve can’t handle anything larger and at 400hp you’d need to use a wastegate not blowoff valve so that’s not sounding right
280 is a factory rating, but the power you actually put down after drivetrain loss is substantially lower. Their dyno reads very low, but your average G or Z puts down 230-260 wheel horsepower, but you'll never actually get the factory rated horsepower at the wheels. My G made 265 at the wheels (not on their dyno), but they said that I had a freak motor and that was the highest they had seen a stock motor do, but the G is rated at 298hp from the factory. I made 429/410 with this kit.
280 at the crank not at the wheel. he was talking about 220-250 at the wheel. so when you seen the dyno chart saying 406hp, that's at the wheel, at the crank it is probably pushing near 490.
I agree 100%, I recently got some work done at Z1 for $1300 that forged wanted over $3000 for. I wish I had gone to Z1 sooner. Unless you have a GTR Forged treats you like a nobody regardless of how much money you are trying to spend.
I paid $9k for mine and yes it was definitely worth it. It made 265/242 when I took it in and was 429/410. To put that in perspective a friend of mine with a stock 2011 GTR made 430/397. He's still faster because of his AWD/ridiculously fast shifting tranny but from a roll I'm not too far off. It's all relative man, it may not be worth it to you but there are plenty of people that feel differently. I still think you'd need to ride in one before making that call.
love that its plug and play application :) wish the website was working tho :( would like to know how to get my hands on some of the Momentum Equipment here in Canada ;)
@Alixrod I put down 269whp in my 04 G. I have a video up also on my page! It was also a freak motor because it blew like 2 months later. New motor put down 248whp :( Epic kit but I couldn't see myself spending 7k.
so im in high school and this is my dream what should i focus on?? or can someone tell me what i should take as in of college courses later on..?? Thanks ill appreciate it,..
you don't need to build necessarily. if you can accept 380HP on a conservative tune. alright cool. when you start going for 400+HP. now you need to start looking at building the bottom end
+RIKU HARDY finally got my car it's not an 05 but an 06 mt. Bolts on aren't gonna give me justice. Even 350whp is fine with me just want to stay on the safe side. Don't know how to go about this and how much it Will cost.
Single turbo would put less stress than a twin turbo set up. Boost would come on between 3800-4000 rpm. Good for daily driving since you can stay in vacuum longer. The most conservative I've seen is 350-380 with 5-9 psi. Momentum performance kit or powerlabs kit would be best
Unfortunately Momentum closed earlier this year. Had nothing to do with quality at all, just a dispute between investors and they were forced to close. Had my G done for 6 months now and still love it, very reliable kits.
How much dose all of that run with parts & labor more or less??.. I just bought a 05 nd I wanna tune it up a Lil & this system would b good to get...lmk thx
What other forced induction setup can you make 400whp+ on a stock block for less money? Forced induction is just expensive, that's all there is to it, and Forged doesn't make the kit, they have no control over what it costs. The kit was actually $7,000 before Momentum closed, but that's a complete kit, no hidden costs and it's incredibly reliable. Plus it's guaranteed to make 400+whp at only 8psi which is more power at less boost than most other kits out there.
Yeah but even if you already have an exhaust it's probably not suitable for a forced induction setup, the Momentum exhaust has 3' piping which is a good bit bigger than most. But yes, a reliable turbo setup on a G will cost close to $10k after everything is said and done. Really you need the turbo kit, exhaust, and clutch at a minimum, +tune, etc., it adds up very quickly.
i just got mine finally tuned today at s&r performance with this kit made 421hp/435tq on stock block at 8 psi thanks momentum performance amazing turbo kit one happy customer here
a video with Forged performance AND Momentum performance? it's a match made in heaven!!
Yeah pretty much. The Momentum kit retailed for around $7k when they were still in business, +$1300 for the headers, +$1100 for the exhaust, so that's around $9400 just for parts, and then there is labor. I wonder how much forged paid for this infomercial .....
came here hoping to see an *"installation"*, but all i see is *"advertisement"*.
Tewthpaste fr lmao I disliked
This is exactly what I thought lol
Tewthpaste Me and my buddies were watching and one just said the same thing before I read your comment! Lol
N/A to the wheels. 280 to the crank.
dont let them fool you, they barely know how to change the oil..
Lmao
For real ?

The specs for the stock g is about right. I only put down 268 on mine with bolt ons
i always thought you would have to drop the motor to install turbo kits on the g35 and 350z
So if its around 400rwhp with a single turbo, what would it put down with a twin turbo? Thatd be sick.
Don't quote me, but I believe the hp would be same if not close. It would spool faster so less lag. The twin turbos would have to be squished near the bottom rear of the engine and would result in smaller turbos.
Twins don't always mean more power. Read up on the cons of twins. Each has their advantage. Each has their drawbacks.
Twin turbos can make the same power as a single turbo depending on the type and size
is this on a stock vq35de? with stock internals? no built bottem end or connecting rods?
Cant wait to get mine already order this kit to put on and head down to s&r performace for some dyno time
yes, the shorty headers can bolt on to the turbo's feedpipe its the way the kit was designed. So yea there actually are headers on a turbo car lol
Also, the exhaust you have right now probably doesn't have large enough piping to support a turbo, well it might work, but would put out a whole lot less power. The Momentum exhaust has 3" piping, which is why I went with it. But it was WAY too loud. Yooo I live within walking distance to y'all , definitely gonna take my g35 there when I get it

Looks nice. I'll look into this more for my G.
What are the rim and tire dimensions on the g? It looks awesome. Btw are those bbs rgr's?
He definitely means wheel hp. As they specialize in dyno tuning. 220-250 is about right
I agree 100%, I recently got some work done at Z1 for $1300 that forged wanted over $3000 for. I wish I had gone to Z1 sooner. Unless you have a GTR Forged treats you like a nobody regardless of how much money you are trying to spend.

.do the turbo tooks gas more then the engine was takin before you install the turbo
What i would do to work in or own one of these shops....
I got a hot-wheel! Can i twin turbo, super charge, jet engine, Semi big ass turbo it?
Where do i find this turbo kit, and is their any other twin or singles you like and are good kits or set ups?
How much does it cost to have a company like this install a turbo?
hi is it possible to install turbo kit on grizzly 550 eps efi ?
a CAI? full cat-back? maybe an extra 15-20 hp
please make a kit for the genesis coupe 3.8!
How much its cost for the turbo kit + installation??
@Alixrod
I put down 269whp in my 04 G. I have a video up also on my page! It was also a freak motor because it blew like 2 months later. New motor put down 248whp :( Epic kit but I couldn't see myself spending 7k.
What category does this music fall in
so im in high school and this is my dream what should i focus on?? or can someone tell me what i should take as in of college courses later on..?? Thanks ill appreciate it,..
Man dis is.my dream car g35 n adding turbo!
How much are we talking about??
The Momentum Performance site isn't working ...
Can't I put turbo on my Cadillac cts 07 3.6
I wish their website would work, i've been looking to get some parts from momentum and it's been down, any word on that?
if u guys need a car to mess around with to figure things out would love to let you guys use my 2012 genesis rspec
gtm twin turbo is around 9k why spent similar price and get half the package :)
I'm getting a 05 6mt g35. Has 58k at odometer. How likely can it be to just turbo the car without a rebuilt.
you don't need to build necessarily. if you can accept 380HP on a conservative tune. alright cool. when you start going for 400+HP. now you need to start looking at building the bottom end

+RIKU HARDY how much are we talking about and should I do a compression test before starting to look for a kit.
The kits are between 6-8K. Yes do a compression test.
Can anyone tell me what brand of turbo they used and the price?
Mine was $8900 out the door with headers/exhaust but I got a good deal on it, it would have been about that just for the parts originally.
I’m looking to add a turbo kit to my g35 sedan.
Unfortunately Momentum closed earlier this year. Had nothing to do with quality at all, just a dispute between investors and they were forced to close. Had my G done for 6 months now and still love it, very reliable kits.
where is the shop at?.
How much dose all of that run with parts & labor more or less??.. I just bought a 05 nd I wanna tune it up a Lil & this system would b good to get...lmk thx
around 6k-10k i would imagine
Buy a second hand Greddy or ebay turbo. Then find a turbo starter kit or fab your own heads and tubing. Probably run less than $3k
Not really, I would put my own together for like 2k... that's what I did on my supra, don't know if its different with g35s.
what about Lexus IS350?
am located outside of USA
so can I order online from you?

@agent27droid I did look it up but never found a place locally and the price after putting on my car.
Mine was dyno’d without a turbo at 296.4hp so its a 100hp turbo kit.
no it wasnt lol
Nice turbo kit, but damn that exhaust sounds like shit for a G. Stick to HKS or Motordyne when it comes to exhaust. Rasp kills.
can you put in G35 Coupe Auto??
this is on a stock engine???
I know this is a old video, but if you could give me access to the link that works that'd be great!
That company is out of the business.
+david munera lol
lol damn
Yeah z1motorsport owns the rights. Go.check them.out
does anyone know what wheels those are on the G?
What blow off valve is on that
why doesn't your website work?
How much is it? your site is down
so to get a turbo / sc on a g35 itd cost 6-8k without exhaust? ( already have 1 )
i have a nissan skyline v35 300gt
engine vq30dd what turbo kit would fit mine
If You have a "Skyline" you would easily know what type of turbo kit it would need!
+Mr. Wendy's lol
@thomasfrye3 Oh, okay lol. On g35driver, I want to say I remember people saying it cost them about $10k, if I am wrong please correct me
I just watched a five minute long commercial.. Give me my five minutes back!
I have an fx35, can I add a turbo charge or super charger?
Sure, you can turbo or supercharge anything you just have to do it rite and in some cases run low boost.
+〈3 Cars right*
+〈3 Cars it's right not rite
I was 15 in 2014, still working on that spelling though. Anthony J
How much for 04 g35?
dead link
turbos use exhaust gases to power their boost. at lower RPMS the car runs stock at higher RPMS you'll use more gas.
all of these videos are just infomercials. where is the installation
what rims at 00:50?
A stock 2006 g35 has 298hp, and the auto have less I know I have one!
ronnie green he is talking to the wheels after power train loss
306hp. Dual intake. 07 G35s
Any car with a momentum kit has a Tial BOV.
I was like dam... this place is legit i bet its in Cali... then i saw Marietta n was like dammmm thats where i liveee i was so excited lmao
Sure does sport. That's at the wheels.
I live close to this ?!
Got a G35 turbo I'm from south Carolina from bird loud team group
No the turbo kit was $7k when it was still available.
this shiit costs 15k?
look great's i want to MOD G35 for TT
thanks for this information very appreciative. supercharger it is for my g35x
to the crank... with like 220 to the wheels.
@CustomG35 amen
I REALLY WANT A TURBO ON MY SKYLINE TOO
Headers on a turbo car? Hmm
Does anyone know about the vg30dett swap into a vq25dd g35
+Sherwin Blackman wouldnt that be a G25 then?
Fuck that turbo sounds good
i think i will spend less money if a swap a LS motor and still save money for bbq party
David Brcnas agreed my dude
My stock G doesnt push 250HP, Pushes 306HP.
Same with mine
306 is the crank hp. 250 hp to the wheels after drive train loss.
No it doesn't. Put it on a dyno. Watch your heart shatter lol
Then factor in the aging... Probably closer to 210-205 now
