To anyone that has a new pet (or just pets in general), I am so so proud of you for trying your best to look after your pet(s). Your best is enough!
When I first got my rabbit, I was very, VERY hard on myself and it took me a whole year to not be, as he can’t be housed with other rabbits, but your best IS enough and I am so damn proud of you! ❤

I submitted my cage about a month ago! I’m super un confident about it because both of the cages are the bare minimum for my pigs. I’m sometime hard on myself about it. But the other cages inspired me to upgrade from the pet store cage to my current ones! Love ya Alyssa!! ❤️❤️

I was only 11 when I got my pigs. Although you frown upon kids having guineapigs i was 100% ready. I read watched about guineapigs for 5 years before even being able to touch one, and my knowledge went from having one guineapig outside in a hutch feeding it only the grass of the ground and the cheapest pellets from Asda, to having two female guineapigs Alice and willow inside in a 2/5 c&c. I am now 13 (almost 14 in feb)and with no help from my parents except paying vet bills aswell as equipment which I am extremely greatful for,I payed for all of there greens, cleaned their cage fully once a week spot clean every day, washed them once a year which is a real hassle and cut their nails aswell as weighing and check ups every fortnight. I have never looked back and there has never been a day where my guineapigs have not had 100% of my care.

Hi Alyssa! I cant get guinea pigs because i am allergic, but that cant stop me from wanting them and watching videos, and out of all of the videos i have watched yours are the most entertaining and fun! Thank you for the amazing vids!

im proud of my cage its a c & c 12in by 12in and its a 6 by 3 and my piggy loves doing zoomies in it I actually upgraded it because I'm going to a rescue to attempt to get her a friend but fingers crossed knock on wood etc because I already tried twice before (on my own not at a rescue) and she was too aggressive but aggressive piggies deserve friends too and owners that don't give up 😁😄
If you’re having trouble bonding her with a friend, you can do a side by side or end to end setup with each pig living separately but near one another for social interactions. Some pigs just want their own space and that’s okay as long as we can find a way around that so they can still have a friend nearby to see and talk to. ☺️
if a guinea pig is too agressive to live with a friend it's okay to have them seperated by a grid and live side - by - side.
Can you do a video on how to start a routine for a giuniea pig and what to feed it every day each time you feed it

This is year old but i will comment anyways. I had my guinea pigs in a small tank and i was always against it since it was really small. At first my parents said it was a good size and that we dont have space. This xmas i finally got my dream cage its a 4x3 i am unsure if that's a good size but my piggies love it and i started to buy chew toys and overall toys and more snacks so they live a nice life ❤

⚠ ALSO make sure if u have guinea piggies, ALWAYS CLOSE THE DOOR AND WINDOW! and NEVER let other animals in the same room as them as their exposed to prey easily ⚠

I agree, and I'm a teen. I have 5 piggies and two 3x7 cages, I'm lucky enough to have parents to help me take care of them money wise. We even have 6 dogs and 6 cats we rescued. And coming from someone who volunteers at a animal shelter and it's it's sad especially after Christmas because people get pets for Christmas and don't know the work it takes and they get rid of them. It's so sad to see because the pets grieve and I hate seeing them like that

About all the"some kids don't really look after guinea pigs well"and "some parents don't put effort in to guinea pigs cage and care" i am 10 and I lost two of my spoiled guinea pigs and i am soon(after holiday) getting two new girls guinea pigs I don't know what guinea pig I'll Be getting all I know is that there gunna be girls and i am planning that i am getting loads of hides and hay in one big one enough fruit and vegetables pellets and water bottle with a ball of water with a 2-5 or 2-6 idk cage that is outside which will be living in a small shed that will have a heat lamp and in summer they will be in a run outside being watch by on of my family member(my mum works in the kitchen by a window so she can see them) and my dad says he can do all of that so i am probably one of the few kids that there parents are up for doing it and even gunna have a cage like this. Thank you for listening ❤❤btw when she said this I didn't pull any hate to me I was just surprised that some kids would not spoil there guinea pig and wanted to share this ty

I have emailed both you and Austin asking for advise on my enclosures. I have two males and one female. That get along and could definitely be put in one cage once I get the guarantee they can't breed. One enclosure is 42" by 22". The other 45" by 47". One has super high walls and is super difficult for me to get into to clean. That one had a shower curtain bottom with a fleece liner but they quickly ripped through the shower curtain. I need something cheap for a quick fix. I know I want to get grids once I get out of my financial rut to make cleaning easier. Help on safe solutions
In case you haven't had advice yet, usually even neutered boys will fight if they're together with a girl, and their bond might break. The other way around, one neutered male with 1 or more females, usually works very well.

Hi, off topic but I need some help. So my rat had a facial abscess that popped, it was about the size of a gum ball, it then popped, fell off, and is now healing. The vet prescribed antibiotics and now my rat has another abscess forming next to/ behind the old one. It also caused her cornea to rupture. Any advice will help. Thank you! 🐀
Take her to the vet to maybe get surgery for it

That’s okay! The main concern is parents who get guinea pigs for their kids but don’t help out with research and maintenance to provide for them properly. I had guinea pigs as a kid, but looking back I wish my parents didn’t get them or that they did more research because their cage was way too small!
I'm mid teens with a guinea pig. The problem is when kids have no assistance. I do take care of my pigs on my own, but if i need help i can lean on my mom. If you can't say the same with your parents, and they won't help you with anything (monetary or care wise) then its less okay. But being a child either way theres not much one can do.

I am tired of saying this but I'll say it again not all kids put all the responsibility on there parents to take care of the pets my mum does not care from my piggies I take care of them I did loads of research not all kids abuse there animals

I agree with the fact that kids shouldn't have guinea pigs but i also was the kid with guinea pigs and i really grew from the experience I’m now 13 with very sweet piggies who live a good happy healthy life

Ok i'm not trying to be mean but i'm still a child and i own a pet budgie/parakeet and yes my mom would be willing to pay a bit but i mean i pays 75$ just one bird and i'm still just a child though i do see that guinea pigs are hard to take care of trust me I've toke care of a guinea pig before.But i don't know if you only talking guinea pigs or all animals.
I don't think she means it to be mean (I'm still a teen) and i agree with her with all animals. You could be an amazing owner! But animals do take a lot of time and money (coming from someone with 5 piggies) and my parents are willing to help me with hay and food and veggies, I worked hard to make my c&c cages with my part time job as I made a deal with my parents. I've had piggies for years now and I've educated my parents so much on guinea pigs, even hoping to become a vet one day. But a lot of parents don't do that, my local shelter gets so many animals after Christmas because parents get pets for the children and don't know how much work it takes. It's very sad and as I do volunteer at a shelter it's very awful for pets because sometimes they grieve and it's very sad
