As a small pet owner you constantly have to advocate for proper care. I don't own guinea pigs, but I do own rats and I see small animals getting mistreated all the time online
Agreed. Hamsters,bunnies, guinea pigs etc.. it pains me to see people dismiss them as ‘small and easy to care for’ while it’s not the case. Some buns are bigger than small dog breeds are shoved into fairly small cages.

You're trying your best and your best is enough - that's what I had to learn myself with my rabbit (I'd love to get him a buddy, but I'm not allowed to so when I move out, he will have a friend) ❤

Everyone has different standards, and that's fine but I wouldnt keep Guinea pigs in that hutch. It's only about 3ft long I think

I know this is a year ago but if your scared to cut their nails you can take them to your local vet and they will do it

Pine carries phenols that can be harmful for guinea pigs respiratory systems and if it’s ingested enough can cause severe liver damage!!! I’d recommend taking the trees out of the cage in the second enclosure! Such a cute concept! I’ve actually done some research on Christmas trees for rabbits and guinea pigs because I thought the same thing last December!!

Hutches are fine as long as there are two levels, at least 4ft run and access to a run daily- do feel sad for the lack of interaction and stimulation some Guineas get, and the ones that live alone is just not ok
agree with all of this except they don't necessarily need 2 levels (mine does), it's good as it gives guinea pigs places away from each other but lots don't like ramps and it doesn't add any extra space xx

@@irodaelmurodova6217 omg there super cute names. We are getting two girls from a breeder that as like 40 guinea pigs at te moment so I have few different colours to choose from. I have already chosen a name for one which is nugget and I would like a hazelnut colour called pumpkin or mango

I buy dollar tree hard plastic bins for my pigs hay and so far it hasn’t presented a problem also washable waterproof welping pads make an awesome bedding with different fleece “carpets” and different cuddly cups and beds
We have 2 piggies and my 3 and 4 year old love helping feed the pigs, and I suspect when my youngest is older, she's going to want to help out more too. She loves them so much.
Sometimes education is absolutely important, I am about to pick up my first 2 bonded pair of piggies, and before i even knew anything i automatically assumed you bought an outdoor hutch. However i started watching youtube videos and I wanted them inside more for the weather and then learnt about their space requirement, social interactions, needs etc and I'm absolutely obsessed now. But sometimes it does come down to, they might not have known and hopefully after sending their photo they can make changes.
Omg, our piggie that we lost 2 weeks ago was named Mocha! Seeing your Mocha literally made me tear up 😓😓 Our other piggie is Marshmallow, and we’ll be bringing home a new friend for him next week. Cross your fingers that they like each other 😱😂
I’m so sorry, and I know how you feel. My family had four pass away a couple years ago, unfortunately, one a baby who got sick. (Ozzie was the baby) And Brownie died from old age, his brother Caramel died from depression since he had no other pig with him. Lulu, our first pig we got, died from sickness too. RIP Caramel, Brownie, Ozzie, Lulu, and Mocha.
It may be a cool idea to revisit some of the cages you reviews to see if they took your advice later down the line

I used to have Claudia hills for about 2 weeks until I soon realised it was WAY too small my pigs couldn’t move much and that was when they were babies! It wasn’t big enough to put in a good amount of hay either!
no one should have hate against her in this video because yeah she criticises peoples cages but she helps you improve and yeah that may hurt because you may feel your getting judged trust me I know how that feels but she's helping you improve so your guinea pigs live a full life because if they are in a tiny cage they can get really sick from stress xx

My guinea pigs live in a shed that is very warm in winter and cooler in summer and they have lots of air. They also have that 2-story hutch that is always open so it’s a bed for them and they also have plenty hides and stuff!
I’m ten years old and either this month or next month I’m building a homemade guinea pig pen with 2 floors and a loft then getting 2 guinea pigs right after.

My Guinea pigs only drink from bottles because when ever I put a water bowl in there cage they don’t know what to do with it 😂
For the girl who does not live close to any rescues and wants to find another friend.... she could call shelters or even look at breeders close to her... breeders can have older adult piggies that are done/retired from breeding....

Just a FYI but guinea pigs are extremely easy to litter train. I have a giant plastic tub thing and is filled with loose bedding. Put Hay inside and pellets and water bottles within the area. They 100% use it

Pet Shops should not sell singel pigs. Wouldnt surprise me if they didnt even ask if someone has another piggy at home. 😢

My guinea pigs don't drink that much water either, but they eat a lot of cucumbers so I guess they get enough water out of those because cucumbers are pretty much 95% water.

I don’t have guinea pigs because I am a hamster person, I think in the 3rd cage the one that was marble, had a blue tube. Which made me laugh that I use that for my winter white dwarf hamster.
I have three young females (sisters) who are 6 months old now and it doesn't seem five minutes since they were tiny and scared of their own shadow! lol. 😂. Phoebe is the brave, nosy, noisy one! 😂. Loves a tickle ❤. Sheba is the next eldest and has let me tickle her just recently 😊. Cleo is still scared of her own shadow! She has taken treats from me, but runs off with it! I'm sure she'll come round one day. I talk to them, A LOT! 😂
It's all down to patience, quiet gentleness and time. I have a lovely dog groomer who trims their nails and though they protest coming out of the carrier, ( yet they just walk straight into it from the cage!😂) they're amazingly good and not a wheek is heard between them 😊❤. They obviously enjoy their pamper!
Sadly two weeks ago we had to say Goodbye to my 5 year old gentleman, Tipsy. 😢 My Vet was lovely and I stayed with Tipsy as he crossed the Rainbow 🌈. We miss him so much, but it was also comforting knowing he wasn't alone and so Loved as he fell asleep peacefully. ❤ I have been with every one of my animals to their end, as they so richly deserve the last act of love for the Loyalty they show us throughout their lives 🐕🐎🐹. 🙏 ❤

I’m 12, and I’m a new piggy owner I have been researching them for months and finally got them! (After a lot of fighting with my mam) Even though my mam wasn’t so up to getting pigs she is in love with them. My pigs live in a hutch in the Spring/Autumn they go in the outdoor run daily when they live in the hutch. We are soon going to be getting a sodden run aswell so we can go out and know they are secure, we are also going to be a getting a hutch with a run in the same cage for the summer on warm days so we don’t have to keep picking them up. In the Winter we will be getting a 2x5 c and c cage with fleece a d fleece accessories and lots of enrichment toys. And they will obviously always go outside on days it’s possible.
The metal run is for when we are in the house and near by, it’s really easy to assemble this is why we use it. The wooden one is smaller but still big! We use this when we go somewhere else. And obviously the hutch itself they sleep in on night and it has a waterproof cover with a heat contraption. And the hutch with the run included will mostly be for the summer when the pool is up and we are having fun so they can go out and get the grass they need/want.
We always give the. At least and hour out, if they look like they are having fun after an. Hour is up they get a bit of extra time out, if they haven’t been out the days before because of weather conditions they will get 1.5 - 2 hours out on minimum.

Right now I have 3 guinea pigs, two of them in a large rabbit hutch and the other in a medium one (the single guinea pig is separated because he gets attacked by the other two) I'm living in a camper temporarily and I have them in a heated shed next to my room, I plan to get a bigger cage for all of them and possibly find a less dominant friend for the loner pig :)

My piggy PigRat started whistling so i turned around and she was out of water. While i was filling her bottle Jelly got jealous and started whistling too. She was just put back silly girl. (They live next to each other but not in the same habitat cause Pigrat was abused and is very nervous but she likes to talk. )
When me and my friend we 10 she and I were both guinea experts I still have my piggy and just recently got him a new cage
please dont keep guinea pigs alone. they can get depressed and even die from it- guinea pigs NEED friends!!

20:47 I did the toilet paper roll thing too put I used a hole punch to poke holes in it my guinea pigs love it (but I’m not sure if that’s mainly bc it has food in it 😂)
I hope someone can reply to my comment but how often do u need to clean the cage cuz I might be getting guinea pigs fir my birthday 😁
Spot clean it every day (that means to clean the poops everyday) and if you have a litter box filled with hay then change the hay every 1-2 days and with fleece i heard you only need to put it to wash every 2 weeks or so. You commented 2 months ago but i still hope this helps
I got my piggies from the pet store bestfriends u probably havent herd of it because i live in australia but they love having attention and i love giving them attention one is half mouse and half pig and the other one is just a cute pig

I have 2 make guinea pigs Duke 5 years old and King 7 months old. They get along great and even groom each other especially king grooming Duke. Currently they are in a mid western that is suitable for two guinea pigs technically but I’m saving up to buy either another one to attach to the current one or buy some c and c to add on to the current one. They have forging toys and two of everything and get floor time everyday multiple times a day these videos give me so much more insight about things I never knew regarding guinea pigs I love your videos thank you

I found out my guinie pig was pregnant a few days ago and that's when she was in labour and had to get surgery so now like all of a sudden I have two Baby's I'm hoping my sisters guini pig didnt get my other one pregnant to.
