- Southern peach cobbler is my favorite dessert. My grandmother made the best with fresh peaches but always had a few cans of peaches in heavy syrup in the pantry. Today, I will share her secret ingredient. Summertime screams cobblers made from fresh fruit straight from the farm. Enjoy the antics in my kitchen as I prepare recipes for my family. Bake the peach cobbler at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the juices are bubbling up.
When peaches are not in season, keep two cans of peaches in heavy syrup to make a quick and easy cobbler.

Thanks Jerrilyn!
How long do you bake the pie for?
@@floflowers6932 Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. The top should be golden brown and the juice oozing up around the edges.
I think you did a wonderful Cobbler. Some people are just plain rude. 😊
Thank you!
Growing up in okla we made it with can peaches. Delish!
Yes! Canned peaches always work for fresh cobbler.
This is so delightful- going to get some of the last of season peaches this morning….thank you for this- love the pit idea…

We like peach cobbler
Exactly the way my mom did her peach cobbler. Which is probably the way her mother made hers. Both good southern cooks.😊
For me o live in Canada in very very cold city snowing winter we don’t have a choice but use a can of peaches 🍑 thank you so much for the recipe
Maria, I always keep a few cans in the back of the pantry! Enjoy the recipe.
Getting peaches tomorrow and wondered if I could use fresh peaches in this. And how to freeze peaches.
Yes, Linda fresh peaches are the best for the cobbler. You can freeze peaches by cutting them up and either adding a little sugar or sprinkling them with fruit fresh which will prevent browning. I usually freeze 2 cup packages that are ready to use in a recipe. Let us know how it goes!
Looks delicious! Can't wait to try it. Also appreciate the way you use all the batter. So often half of it gets left in the bowl!
April, Let us know how yours came out. Those little cobblers are great to throw in the freezer. You will love it when you are looking for a little treat! Thank for watching.
You make it so simple and yummy
Thank you! Let us know when you give it a try.
Awesome
That's a beautiful peach cobbler!
What does the peach pit do?
My grandmother believed it added extra flavor to the cobbler. I make it often without the pit and it is still as good!
I did not like idea of canned peaches, so i am so excited to try your recipe with fresh or frozen peaches. ❤
How long do you bake it?
Hi Jackie, Bake it 30-45 minutes. The top should be golden brown and juices bubbling.
Would have to have seen a serving of it on a plate or in a bowl.
May I ask how you froze the Peaches and how long they last?
Jenny, I get 20 - 40 pounds each season. Peel and slice them. I use fruit fresh powder and sprinkle them well before I bag them in quart bags. I put 2 cups in each bag so they are ready for a cobbler, ice cream or crisp. The fruit fresh keeps them from turning dark over time. I have kept some frozen for 2 years and they still taste great.
Maybe i missed it, bbut do you use nutmeg and cinnamon?
I did not use nutmeg, just cinnamon, but that sounds like a good addition!
Why the pit?
My grandmother swore it added more flavor! Just don't forget to take it out.
My family’s cobbler had a bottom crust and a top crust,, this is the original way, not a cake mix!!!!
What did I do wrong of my dough was chewy? I mean super chewy 😩
@kim.5369 My first thought would be, was there too much liquid? If you used canned peaches, there may have been too much juice in the cobbler for it to set right. Second, did you put the melted butter in the pan first, or did you mix it with the flour and the milk? Sometimes, even when you follow a recipe, it may not turn out like you want. I'm so glad you tried the recipe, and I hope you were able to salvage some peach goodness! Try again and let me know what happens.
You didn’t need to spread the batter. It would’ve already when it’s cooking rise up and the peaches go down so wouldn’t matter if you did, but I’ll probably won’t cause you’re not supposed to stir anything.
You DO need to use a rubber or silicone SPATULA for mixing and scraping so as to
ELIMINATE the EXCESSIVE
LOUD….CLACKING when you keep CRACKING the utensil against the bowl and or the 9 X 13.
Your CLACKING comes across as STABBING the eardrums‼️
OTHER THAN THAT….
Your recipe looks like a good, easy one.
I shall try it, (without the clacking, of course).
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Jus’sayin’
Me too!! The clacking noise is very annoying.
