This is exactly how I make my peach cobbler. I don't bother taking the skin off, you don't even notice the skin once it's completed baking, it taste the same even with the skin on. I just give the peaches a good rinsing off, slice them down the middle and twist them apart to get the stone out and the cobbler turns out perfect every time. This is a classic. Tried and true and one of my families favorites. Thanks Catherine!

Depending on the peach variety, I usually just let the peaches sit for a day or two, then just peel them. No need for the hot / cold water.

I had a friend who had a peach orchard and I used to go there and get peaches by the bushel. One day two friends came over and we spent the day making pickled peaches. I can't remember how many quart jars we put up but they were so beautiful with the touch of red on the peaches. 😚
I also made peach preserves and of course peach cobbler! 😘
And naturally Blue Bell ice cream would top the cobbler! 😋
Those were some great summers with the bushels of peaches! 🍑
One of the nice things about living in a town with 5 BBQ places, they usually serve peach cobbler! 🤤 I take tums going to the different places to see who has the best. ☺️

This is a Southern favorite.
Our county was voted as having the best peaches in the state.
Can't wait to buy the overripes for homemade peach ice cream.
I'll be making a peach cobbler, cooling it in the fridge overnight and put spoonfuls into our homemade ice cream then churn away. We use the old timey, wooden hand crank version.
We tried electric. The ice cream was too soft and it broke after the 1st use.
We like the Philadelphia style ice cream.
That cinnamon on top was like the icing on a cake! Looks absolutely delicious!

My husband's favorite dessert is Peach Cobbler, he talks fondly of the one his mother made when he was a little guy. I'd love to make him one, but all the recipes I've tried before required a cake mix, and it doesn't taste the same for him. This recipe seems like it would be a lot like his moms. Thanks for sharing.

Yummy yummy , we have 2 peach trees so I make peach cobbler alot , but this year so far only 1 tree has peaches from spring , we might get a 2nd harvest in September , but waiting on our peaches for several more weeks, possibly 6 weeks then will be making .but I have frozen blueberries I could do this recipe with .

I have this same recipe I call Blackberry Mountain! I have also made it with Blueberries…… never fails! I never thought of using peaches and I still have peaches I froze last summer! I will definitely try!

i just tried this recipe and its so good im gonna double the proportions next time since its made for two or three persons
This is a recipe my family has made for years. I add vanilla extract to the batter and a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. In the winter I make it with canned peaches. It is yummy.
