Excellent review - great to have someone not simply flog the thing, who also knows what they're talking about. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Nice review, mate. Stellar playing too 👍
Thanks very much!
Hah, I think I've seen some of your posts about this guitar on one of the HB facebook groups. Great video, you're a monster player too!
Entirely possible - I have been reasonably active on a few HB pages about this guitar!
Thanks very much for the kind words too!
THANK YOU so very much Dear Sir for the much appreciated Warnings. What a wreck, it's like: "It's just a flesh wound!" for every time you said "It's not a Problem..." Don't let them get away with this Q.C. disaster! Great job at an Honorable Review. Sorry dear mate for all your suffering with this Lemon of a "guitar". Are you WATCHING THIS Harley Benton?!
I think ‘disaster’ is a bit of an overstatement - it’s now basically a year later, and it’s still one of the most played guitars in my collection.
There were some issues, but nothing that affects the playability of the guitar in a permanent sense - and for the cost I still think it’s a huge amount of guitar.
I stand by the review completely, but I would also buy another should the need arise!
Great job Andy, quality honest review 👍
Thanks very much! Appreciate it mate 🙂
I don’t understand most of what you said, but still found it interesting. Lovely review sir!
Haha! Thanks, chap! I should probably get around to doing some drum-related stuff for you guys at some point 🙂
Super helpful review. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Bought a fusion 3 with wilkinson for 359.00 a few months back. VERY surprised on the playability and sound for the price.
For the money, they’re so impressive!
it seems like i had some good luck, i bought a b stock one the same as yours and it arrived last week and it was literally good to go, i gigged it that night, i did change the set up slightly but thats all it needed
This wasn’t a B-stock one! This was a full retail price model. From what I understand, the B-stock ones are returns from people who don’t want (or can’t) to do the work to make them playable, but this was sold to me as an A-grade guitar
please tell me how set it up?
Thanks for the video, very informative and well structured! Did you check the Maple yourself? Whether it is only a veneer on top of the Nyatoh or if there is actually a sizeable maple top and then the veneer on top of that? I can't really tell from the Thomann product page. Also, is there a dedicated set-up manual for that Floyd Rose 1000?
It’s a proper maple cap with a paper-thin veneer laid on that. There isn’t a setup manual for the Floyd provided, but it’s functionally the same as every other Floyd, and sets up/adjust as such. There’s a plethora of videos on Floyd setups on RUclips 🙂
Love the tone during the intro song. Makes me want to buy one of these 😬😅
Thanks very much!
NIce review. The fact you overgraded it bring a really good point because it was the purpose of this guitar which sounds excellent for his price (I recognize some Max Ostro... "fusion" phrasing in your improvisation. Couldn't be better choice!)
That was the exact idea of this guitar. Including the pickup swap it still comes on at around £200 less than a Charvel DK24 and has more spec too, so on paper it was worth a look.
Anything that compares me to Max Ostro I’ll happily take! He’s an immense talent for sure!
If they would make one with a thin and flat neck I would buy it right away.
The neck is bigger than I would expect of a guitar like this, but it’s certainly not unwieldy. It’s very similar to a Fender 60’s profile ‘c’ neck I would say, which I appreciate is not for everyone.
That said, I have quite small hands comparatively, and within my ability I don’t find it too big to play quickly on.
It’s a straight 12” radius too, so it’s not the flattest board out there, although I believe they’re releasing models next year (notably the ST-182, which I’ll be all over!) with compound 12-16” radius necks, and I would expect that to come across to the next gen of fusions too.
Really looking forward to the Suhr shootout!
Aiming to film it and release it next week. Should be interesting to see how they compare!
that intro was beautiful
Thank you kindly! Was certainly a fun one to write 🙂
do you do guitar lessons? @@AndyBurlaceMusic
I do indeed! However I currently only offer them face-to-face in Suffolk, UK. I hope to be setup for online lessons soon
Hello, where can I listen to your music?
As a guitarist and songwriter I don’t actually have any music available publicly yet, but as a drummer I played on the Walkway album WW3 on Spotify (and also some bass on that record too!)
I’m planning to get some guitar music recorded and released at some point in the future, but as always it’s finding the time!
What pickup is that?
They’re a set of Suhr Aldrich’s and they’re absolutely superb in this guitar
the backingtrack please
I write all of the tracks for every demo I do, so there isn’t a backing track per se. The whole track is only as long as the demo!
@@AndyBurlaceMusic make it please is so good
Appreciate the honesty, I don't mind quirks that can be adjusted/changed due to lack of quality control but that misaligned bridge really makes me hesitant to buy.
Upon further use over the last few months I actually suspect it’s the rout that’s slightly misaligned rather than the bridge, and it is only by a very small amount.
I will also say that Thomann have a very comprehensive returns policy, and have even seen people returning them successfully because they don’t like the look of the veneer pattern on the top, so if it’s not up to code they will take it back.
If I had more time before the first need for this guitar I may have sent it back and had another go, but even with the few issues this had, it’s still become one of my 2 go-to guitars more often than not - and that’s a huge accolade for a guitar this price, when the majority of the rest of my collection all tip in at well over £2000+
@@AndyBurlaceMusic True, there is a lot of bang for the buck and it's important to take everything into consideration. I have been thinking about it for a while yesterday and decided it's still worth the price and bought it, worst case scenario like you said I will just return it, if it's doable it's def a keeper.
Not bothered about anything other than basic function that will last.
Honestly I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with it, I’m 6 months+ into ownership and still find myself reaching for it more often than not!
@@AndyBurlaceMusic I got it today, it took me about two hours to set up. Bridge was almost perfectly aligned, had to raise the bridge and play with the tension strings, intonation was excellent thank God. Has a couple of microscopic dinks and the letter B missing on head stock. I got the only Harley enton in the world, haha. Love it, feels great. Pickups are a little quiet, gonna put in my Seymour Designed that I had spare and see how they sound. No cracks or anything like that. Very happy bunny, paid 240 quid. Unreal really
Glad you’re happy. If it’s anything like mine you should be content for years to come!
why is our head so tilted back ?
Do you mean the guitar or my actual head? If you mean me, it’s a small room, so I have to sit a little awkwardly to get myself and the guitar in shot.
