I have a charvel san dimas. Never played a hb. How do they make them so cheap ? I don't get it. Cheap as in inexpensive not quality. I'm very tempted to get one. Are they really that great ?
Much appreciated! Honestly, these don’t feel too far off from those high end guitars. I’m hooked on these. After a little polishing on the frets, these feel and sound incredible.
Don’t feel guilty T Hawk, think of the times you spent more money on crap that didn’t you get anywhere near the enjoyment you shall extract from this beautiful experiment in fine woods!
With Harley Benton models I have noticed if they refer to the model as caramalised maple then it is a light to medium roast but if they call it roasted maple than it is a medium to dark roast, I have recently bought the HB T fusion 25th Anivarsary model and it has a dark roasted flamed maple and roasted flame maple fretboard and I love it. They sell them so cheap as they don't use distributers who would usually add 30% on top of the price and then the retailer will add their markup, so Thomaans business model is to stack them high and sell them cheap, the mass sales deliver the profit.
That interesting, thanks for pointing that out. Yea, there is not a better value on the market in my opinion. I have 3 HB guitars and just ordered one of their V30 cabs, which are also priced crazy cheap.
Yeah, I've bought new guitars on occasion, but I usually buy used guitars as well. ..I have a set of those eraser looking fret sanders as well, and I must say they work awesomely. Now this isn't something I've tried yet, but I've recently found that Wilkinson is now making these locking saddles, and they make them for various different bridges. What they are is a saddle with a screw that is in the saddle that locks the string right onto the saddle right before the saddle edge, and works like a locking nut, but is at the saddle end. Anyway, I've watched videos on it just this weekend, and they make the bridge end completely stable as far as tuning goes...so my plan is to get the Fusion III, and buy those saddles and replace the stock Wilkinson saddles with their locking saddles, and I anticipate that guitar will rarely go out of tune once I get the strings stretched out. Well, paused at 14:53 in, so back to finish the video. Thanks for posting this, and hope you and yours are doing well.
So, I think that the LTD looks cooler. However, the Harley Benton is much better. The pickups and body will be close to the same quality on both. But the neck and tuners will be an upgrade with the HB. The biggest difference is the Floyd Rose. The Floyd Rose 1000 on the HB will be dramatically better than the ESP Branded one. So, The HB is cheaper and better IMO.
Well, I am a huge Jackson fan. But, if your budget is less than $500 and you want a new guitar, the HB Fusion iii FR is literally the best guitar on the market as far as specs go. If you don’t mind a used guitar, there are some amazing Jackson’s that are hardly used that people are selling for cheap that you can find on Reverb. The biggest difference between the two is the Floyd Rose. The HB Floyd Rose 1000 is amazing and what Jackson would put on a $1000 guitar. The Floyd that Jackson puts on a JS32 is very low quality and will fall out of tune and wear out. Also, Pickups on the HB will be a little better too. Feel free to ask anymore questions.
@theguitargrappler9352 Wow thank you! I do really love the look of Jackson and if im not mistaken, they have a thinner neck? I do mainly want to use it for metal but im sure whichever guitar i choose, I'd get used to the neck over time. I've heard some people have issues with the Jackson JS models trying to upgrade the floyd from the Jackson licensed floyds to floyd 1000s or originals? I've also heard the stock tuners on those models of Jacksons aren't the greatest. The less tuning issues the better for me i think. This is my first guitar with a tremolo. There's only about a 50 dollar difference between me buying the HB or the Jackson after tax and shipping costs. I would prefer to stay under $500. I dont know if i want to go with Jackson and have to upgrade the tremolo and tuners or just go with HB and leave it 🤔 Sorry for the novel 😅
@@AllisonTaitano Yea, in this situation, the only two reasons to get the Jackson are, they look cooler (for metal) and the neck is thinner. You are correct that you would get used to the neck. The HB have medium sized necks too, so it’s not too crazy of a difference. They are very comfortable. HB Fusions come with Grover tuners too, which are excellent. Much better than the Jackson ones. The HB genuinely plays as good as any $1000 guitar that I’ve owned. The pickups are not as good as a $1000 guitar, but they’re going to be better than the Jackson’s pickups. With all of that said, I would suggest the HB as your first floyd guitar. Once you get comfortable with a floyd and you have the funds, then I’d say get a Jackson. But make sure it has a Floyd Rose 1000, Original, or a Gotoh Tremelo when you do. Let me know what you decide and what color you pick 🤘🏽
@theguitargrappler9352 Dude you're awesome! Thank you so much. I really appreciate your knowledge and input. 🙌 Im really digging the Fusion-iii HH FR Roasted FBLB, the blue one.
@@AllisonTaitano No problem! I made the channel for this type of thing exactly. Great choice. I love the blue and that roasted neck is so smooth. I forgot to mention, the HB comes with stainless steel frets too, most guitars (especially in that price range) come with nickel. So they will last forever. That’s a huge upgrade. The only thing is, when HB ships these, they don’t polish the frets and the feel grimy. All you have to do is play, and after a week or so, they feel nice. Or you can do what I do, which is buy some masking tape and some fret erasers and give them a good polish. There’s some good videos on RUclips to show you how. It’s very easy and will make the frets shine and be smooth like glass
I’ve reviewed A LOT of guitars and this is the best bang for the buck in the market. Their cabinets are too. Just bought a 2x12 Harley Benton Cab that is crazy good for the price.
I just got a used but perfect one of these for £200. What a guitar ! The only thing I would change on it is the bridge pickup which is a great more or less vintage spec humbucker at 8.4K but a hotter pickup would probably sound better for shredding. Also, the Floyd nut isn't seated properly and the strings are a little high at the 1st fret. Should be a relatively easy fix
@@bluematrix5001 I know when there’s too much gloss laid on too thick, I also associate it with eg China and cheap, sticky necks… they’re all getting better tho and just look at how many big brands have their guitars built in Indonesia nowadays.
@@mountainman8775 nothing wrong with indonesian guitars... but too much gloss is not good, unnecessary and looks cheap...is just they over spray with gloss as is faster and easy to get a finish...lighter coats requires better painters...
Great playing performance!!! Bravo! I am addicted to Harley Benton. I own 8 of them...
Thank you! I’ll be there pretty soon too it seems haha. They are amazing guitars and I always have my eye out for them now.

Nice demo mate. I think il get one of these. Love the King Diamond and Death riffs too.

You can probably steam the neck dings out with a soldering iron and a wet rag.
Interesting, I didn’t know that was possible. As I’ve been playing on it, I hardly even notice anymore. Good to know though. Thank you
Sick fucking song dude
Thanks dude! Took me longer than I'd like to admit to record lol.
What would be a better option between this one and an ESP LTD M-200FM, having in mind that the ESP is a 100 and a half bucks more expensive?
