So great as a designer to see a long term opinion of the game. All your comments are noted for the deluxe edition that I plan on doing at some point. Just a note, Hero Dice can be used to reroll any die even a 1 (that is why they are so valuable). Karma (Luck, tee hee) cannot modify a 1. Also Hero Dice can reroll a spell or miracle die but karma cannot be used on spells.
Dang! Sorry about that. I hate to misrepresent. I think my own ideas creep in and then it just becomes the game. I have so many home brew rules for too many games. A good reason to re-read the rules from cover to cover! Thanks DM Scotty!
I just had an idea about the “karma” bonuses. You can only gain the karma bonus on a miss if it was a noble or good deed (something your fellow players would say, “better luck next time”) . That means failing an action that the rest of the table secretly thinks “thank god that failed”, the player doesn’t get rewarded for being a murder hobo. Almost like inspiration for good RP
EZD6 is the best rules lite role-playing system. I love this game and it's simplicity. I love six sided dice as well. At my table we play a homebrew DIY D&D and use only opposed D6 rolls for checks, saves and one on one combat. I roll my D6 against my player's D6. If I roll high, the player character fails or is at some form of disadvantage. If the player rolls high, the player character is successful in his undertaking. Winning with a 6 means a really big advantage.
@@SilasC The first and best Star Wars RPG. I have several videos planned covering it in the future. Made by West End Games. The best official version is 2.5 but an even better edition that was updated by fans is available for free in pdf on line. Just google "star wars d6 REUP"
I quit D&D (3e to current), and now regularly play Lamentations of the Flame (primarily), Call of Cthulhu and Apocalypse Rat (beta 2.0). I hope to get my group into Mörk Borg, Pirate Borg, and CY_Borg, soon. I'll have to check out this EZD6 system! Looks cool!
I've not tried it myself yet but I'm thinking about running a long term campaign with EZD6, personally I like the Advancement system in the Brain Candy supplement more than the Advantage Cards and I think I would add in some hexcrawling mechanics just because I like to run that mini game during travel but then I reckon I'd then be happy to run for ages!
Great video. I think DM Scotty does a great job with advancement in his new book Wasted Worlds. It has great optional rules, not just for playing in the wasteland. You should really check it out.
We've been playing EZD6 for 2 years now, and I can confidently say that it meets - and often exceeds - every feeling we ever got from 5e with none of the hassle or rules bloat. For epic fantasy role-playing, it is unmatched. With a tiny bit of thought, there is almost no 5e character we can't easily replicate in EZD6. The one area where I have to admit that it falls short is simulating the experience of starting out as an incompetent peasant and slowly progressing to a world-altering hero. If that is the kind of game your group desires, I'd recommend Dungeon Crawl Classics instead. But if you want to get to the table and have a fantasy epic with little to no pauses to look up rules, then EZD6 is the clear choice. It takes about 10 minutes to teach, but two years and counting to master.
I do enjoy Games with a Bit more Crunch to them, but the more I am stuck in the constant Loop of playing online, i realise that ezd6 Runs so much smoother for online play
I have a hard time imagining that a Rules Lite system will hold up long term. Eventually, all those rulings will need to be codified and you will end up with a medium crunch homebrewed system.
You'd be surprised. I have not ever needed to tweak any rules in game, yet. If anything home brew becomes the key, which is what we do to rules lite to rules heavy. As is the gaming way.

Awesome!
The Knave spell list could be perfekt, replace the word INT for Power Level.
Rolling with Power Level 3 you get the INT 3 effect
I love D6. WEG Star Wars D6 is among my favorite. Keep it up.
Mine too!
Star Wars d6? I'm curious now

@@AgranakStudios I'm not talking about tweaking so much as adding to. Like we used to do with B/X and BECMI.
Those links for old videos are wrong.
Thank you for the heads up!
What pipe is that?
Peterson Dracula......I think it is a 127. Cheers!
