If u have checked out other kpop groups songs & mvs u must know that dreamcatcher is completely on a different level. They're probably the only kpop rock girl band. Scream is the 1st part of dystopia trilogy. This trilogy talks about social media haters & how their words affect other people. & These girls are looking for a utopia a place without any haters basically a perfect place. Now u NEED to chack out the 2nd & 3rd part of the series. The 2nd part is BOCA & the 3rd part is odd eye. Also there's a nightmare series which is like a horror movie honestly.
If you want to go straight to their more rock stuff, then "Eclipse" and really heavy "Don't Light My Fire" are great. But they have many songs and I haven't heard not a single bad one yet. Even their b-side pop-songs are better than 90% of what you hear in the radio! For example D'n'B song "Sleep Walking" and great pop tune "Silent Night".
Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who incorporate Rock and Metal in their music, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying here, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and you'll be hard pressed to find a bad song by them. Part 2 of the trilogy is Boca, which would be the natural next reaction!

When I took a deep dive look at Dreamcatcher’s first two title tracks in the “Dystopia” trilogy, I be”, Dreamcatcher morphs into roles both priestess and protector, as they work to purify the Tree of Language through shutting the sources/mouths of evil language. Symbolically we hear about Dreamcatcher’s message against hatred and witch-hunting, using what message they’re sending in their lyrics as a means to talk about their own experiences, take control of what’s been directed against them and others like them in the public eye, and grasp some agency in combatting it. It’s a powerful message even as it is challenging to communicate it. That message finds its ultimate result in execution in “Odd Eye”, a nu-metal/hip-hop/rock hybrid tune that, compared to its predecessors, is more of a slower, yet more deliberate song, with lyrics and a message to match. Looking at the translation of the album description from 7Dreamers, it’s interesting to see what all those “Utopia” teasers that were dropped late last year were about: “Dreamcatcher, who dream of utopia, suddenly walk towards the place where they want to go. However, the utopia that they had imagined was not merely a place full of happiness as they had expected. With skills gained through new experiences, we are able to understand how utopia isn’t a place where the “happiness” as seen from the outside is equally reflected on the inside - which resembles our current state right now. Dreamcatcher will not give up and continue to take steps towards inner happiness in the future.” There are a lot of ideas put forth in this description, but the impression is very sobering. At first, you’d think “utopia” would elicit a sort of happier, brighter future both in the music video storyline and for the song’s symbolism - that not only would the Tree of Language be restored fully after being purified, but that there would be peace again, a return to the distant past of before “people forgot how to say good things”, as what was told to us in the opener of “Scream”.
This is the beginning of Dystopia trilogy. The next episode is Boca then Odd eye. Dystopia is targeting hateful comments and people who say bad stuff and negative things.
My fave girls Dreamcatcher! Their whole concept is dark and three always have a heavy metal or rock tone in their songs. I absolutely loved them since Deja Vu, but Odd Eye is my favorite so far.

Everything they do is amazing. Their headliner songs all have an underlying rock sound. The B-sides explore other genres, but in uniquely interesting ways. There is no other group out there like them. They don't make bad songs.

If u have checked out other kpop groups songs & mvs u must know that dreamcatcher is completely on a different level. They're probably the only kpop rock girl band. Scream is the 1st part of dystopia trilogy. This trilogy talks about social media haters & how their words affect other people. & These girls are looking for a utopia a place without any haters basically a perfect place. Now u NEED to chack out the 2nd & 3rd part of the series. The 2nd part is BOCA & the 3rd part is odd eye. Also there's a nightmare series which is like a horror movie honestly.
If you want to go straight to their more rock stuff, then "Eclipse" and really heavy "Don't Light My Fire" are great. But they have many songs and I haven't heard not a single bad one yet. Even their b-side pop-songs are better than 90% of what you hear in the radio! For example D'n'B song "Sleep Walking" and great pop tune "Silent Night".
Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who incorporate Rock and Metal in their music, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying here, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and you'll be hard pressed to find a bad song by them.
Part 2 of the trilogy is Boca, which would be the natural next reaction!

Dreamcatcher is an unique 7 member girl group which debuted in 2017. I say unique because it's an idol group with rock/metal infused sounds for *ALL* their title tracks which are mostly story based with dark concept.
There are various genres mixed in the songs, but they fused rock elements into them. It's their signature sound, while their B-sides are truly a huge variety of genres and experimental creativity. When I took a deep dive look at Dreamcatcher’s first two title tracks in the “Dystopia” trilogy, I be”, Dreamcatcher morphs into roles both priestess and protector, as they work to purify the Tree of Language through shutting the sources/mouths of evil language. Symbolically we hear about Dreamcatcher’s message against hatred and witch-hunting, using what message they’re sending in their lyrics as a means to talk about their own experiences, take control of what’s been directed against them and others like them in the public eye, and grasp some agency in combatting it. It’s a powerful message even as it is challenging to communicate it.
That message finds its ultimate result in execution in “Odd Eye”, a nu-metal/hip-hop/rock hybrid tune that, compared to its predecessors, is more of a slower, yet more deliberate song, with lyrics and a message to match. Looking at the translation of the album description from 7Dreamers, it’s interesting to see what all those “Utopia” teasers that were dropped late last year were about:
“Dreamcatcher, who dream of utopia, suddenly walk towards the place where they want to go. However, the utopia that they had imagined was not merely a place full of happiness as they had expected. With skills gained through new experiences, we are able to understand how utopia isn’t a place where the “happiness” as seen from the outside is equally reflected on the inside - which resembles our current state right now.
Dreamcatcher will not give up and continue to take steps towards inner happiness in the future.”
There are a lot of ideas put forth in this description, but the impression is very sobering. At first, you’d think “utopia” would elicit a sort of happier, brighter future both in the music video storyline and for the song’s symbolism - that not only would the Tree of Language be restored fully after being purified, but that there would be peace again, a return to the distant past of before “people forgot how to say good things”, as what was told to us in the opener of “Scream”.
This is the beginning of Dystopia trilogy.
The next episode is Boca then Odd eye.
Dystopia is targeting hateful comments and people who say bad stuff and negative things.
My fave girls Dreamcatcher! Their whole concept is dark and three always have a heavy metal or rock tone in their songs. I absolutely loved them since Deja Vu, but Odd Eye is my favorite so far.

you already checked out odd eye and now scream so might as well finish out the dystopia trilogy with 'boca'. the dystopia series is more edm influenced compared to their other title tracks which are a lot more rock/metal influenced. if you want something more pure and heavy, try 'endless night'.

A personal favorite song of mine from Dreamcatcher is called "Deja Vu." It's more of a Rock ballad but it's so good. It starts out real slow and then builds up to this really dramatic chorus and I highly recommend it.

Dreamcatcher is not typical k-pop. They include rock in their songs and this is their distinctive feature. Unfortunately, because of this, they are not very popular in Korea. If you want more metallish sound from them, try listening to the Endless Night, No more, Don't Light My Fire.
