It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.

You see the mask in each one of the three Dystopia MV's. The other members teased Gahyeon a lot about her performance with the mask. I guess you haven't seen any of that yet. I mean there is just so much video of them messing with each other. I've been following them since they debuted and that's the only reason I've seen most of it. I don't know if someone already commented this (So I apologize if I'm being redundant), but they reference the witch trials in the lyrics and the choreography. This is supposed to elude to how internet hate is kind of like online witch hunts which can be extremely prevalent in the kpop community/Fandoms. There is a bit to the story that I'm not sure of, but I would relate the light in the beginning to people saying nice things and as they start to spew words of hate the light fades and the tree, in the beginning, begins to die. In the beginning the lyrics are "Please I don't want to scream," however, they change to "I just want to make you scream." This shows a turning point and ultimately leads us into BOCA (Edit: I completely forgot to mention that the masks symbolize anonymity which fuller alludes to the internet. though I guess this is probably apparent XD.)
MV's from dreamcatcher always hit, if you have time(if you want to) you should check out their song dejavu. For me it's the most visually appealing MV I've seen.

I did give a warning about Gah being a lead rapper since PIRI (that was the true shock tbh) and also mentioned how Odd Eye gets everyone Yooh + Siyeon wrecked. I'd say Scream was Jiu and Gah while BOCA is def Dami and Gah (don't say I didn't warn ya!). and yes let's say after coming from Deja Vu to THIS everyone was SHOOK - same amount of awesome but completely different vibe. I felt all of your emotions even though I’ve watched the Scream MV a million times. I feel nostalgic for Scream as it was my first DC song but it also just holds up SO well, it’s crazy. I totally recommend their performance video/dance practice and their live performances of Scream, it just goes so hard! Dami and Gahyeon’s raps are iconic, Siyeon is a heavenly angel in the bridge, Sua dancing in that last chorus is one of the most powerful things I’ve ever seen, Purple Jiu enough said and Yooh singing with a real fierceness.. the only bad thing is No Handong but she fits in well after she came back! Can’t wait for you to watch Boca! 😊

You probably know this, but I'll say it anyway. The mask symbolizes how haters hide themselves on the internet and pour abuse on everyone they don't like. You see the mask in each one of the three Dystopia MV's. The other members teased Gahyeon a lot about her performance with the mask. I guess you haven't seen any of that yet. I mean there is just so much video of them messing with each other. I've been following them since they debuted and that's the only reason I've seen most of it. To someone starting now, it's just overwhelming.

You know this by now but Scream is too early to say that about Gahyeon. She and her pink buns OWNED the Boca era. Purple hair was top JiU, like Odd Eye blonde bob Siyeon and silver haired Yoohyeon in You And I.
I honestly think BOCA will be your favorite after you watch it. The contrast between the dark scenes and the light scenes is incredible and does perfect in highlighting their duality. The rap is also gonna destroy you so be prepared. It’s Dami and Gahyeon’s era. Can’t wait to see your reaction.

I don't know if someone already commented this (So I apologize if I'm being redundant), but they reference the witch trials in the lyrics and the choreography. This is supposed to elude to how internet hate is kind of like online witch hunts which can be extremely prevalent in the kpop community/Fandoms. There is a bit to the story that I'm not sure of, but I would relate the light in the beginning to people saying nice things and as they start to spew words of hate the light fades and the tree, in the beginning, begins to die. In the beginning the lyrics are "Please I don't want to scream," however, they change to "I just want to make you scream." This shows a turning point and ultimately leads us into BOCA (Edit: I completely forgot to mention that the masks symbolize anonymity which fuller alludes to the internet. though I guess this is probably apparent XD.)
MV's from dreamcatcher always hit, if you have time(if you want to) you should check out their song dejavu. For me it's the most visually appealing MV I've seen.

I did give a warning about Gah being a lead rapper since PIRI (that was the true shock tbh) and also mentioned how Odd Eye gets everyone Yooh + Siyeon wrecked. I'd say Scream was Jiu and Gah while BOCA is def Dami and Gah (don't say I didn't warn ya!).
and yes let's say after coming from Deja Vu to THIS everyone was SHOOK - same amount of awesome but completely different vibe.
FYI, for Scream there are two (2) dance videos - a studio version and a dance practice, you NEED to check both, for science~
Sooo Scream also has a suit dance version and they also wear suits in their live performances. I would suggest you watch them becuz they will utterly destroy you. JiU's suit in particular has a...surprise 😉
