    I have both. Trackir is way smoother and more accurate than Tobii. Looking on the overhead panel is unstable when flying airliners. The concept is good

      I mainly use it just for taxiing and landing rather than aircraft setup as I have it turned off for that.
      I used to have trackIR too and I just find the Tobii much more handy for my setup as I don't have to have anything attached to my headset.

      @@BenedictC I get it. After buying it I thought $200 was a little high just to look side to side. With Trackir if you’re wearing a headset you don’t even know it’s there. The key to Trackir is the correct smooth settings. A lot of people that use it don’t realize how important the F7 key on the bottom right is.
      Tobii has acknowledged that the new software is an Alpha and will get better with time. All give some more time.

      I’ve only recently moved over to MSFS2020 having bought TrackIR previously. I have yet to set it up for MSFS. Thanks for your comment. Tobil is seriously expensive in any event so I shall be checking TrackIR in the near future!!

      I have the same problem in a airlines, verry hard to use in overhead, hard to change radio on vatsim, hard to set transponder on, so that is littel sad, and i dont know how to fix it?

      @@jj__king__ They have an Alpha software that’s available at the moment on their website. It still needs more work. Tobii has a while to go before it can pass Trackir

    I have had the Tobii for a couple of months and l would agree with Gavin that it is much more suited to GA aircraft than airliners. I do use it when flying airliners, mainly the Fenix A320, but l have the eye tracking turned off completely and the head movement sensitivity turned down otherwise it is much too jittery. Having said that l do love it, it gives the flight deck much more of a 3D immersive feel and enables you to look around without having to click any keys or buttons. Definitely recommend it if you can afford it.

    Hot the Tobii several months back. Great addon. I actually dont use the eye tracking, as I feel it adds too much unwanted movement. When paired with my 3440x1440 monitor, it has made my sim experience so much more enjoyable.

    I’ve owned it for over a year, I seldom use it. Lack of a pause function is its biggest flaw, unlike TrackIR which does. It’s ok for GA, not so with airliners, it’s useless when programming the MCDU or FMC, I find I have to switch it off, then it returns to default cockpit view meaning changing view with the mouse to access the MCDU etc. IMHO, it’s a waste of a lot of cash. TOBII appear to be hard selling it through well known and respected RUclipsrs, this is the second video today I’ve seen this hard sell approach and give aways. If it was that good, it would sell itself. Cheers Gavin. Keep up the great videos.

      I definitely agree thet for airliners it isn't really practical (like I said in the video). It's certainly more for GA VFR flying.
      There is however an eye tracker toggle on/off function so you can do that (in MSFS settings)

    • @peterellis49
      @peterellis49 7 месяцев назад

      @@Easyjetsimpilot regarding toggling it off, that I what I meant by turning it off. If one could slews one’s view from default cockpit view to the MCDU, for example, then pause it while using the LSKs etc, it would make all the difference, but sadly this isn’t possible, it means toggling it off, which returns the view to default cockpit view, completely spoiling any immersion. TrackIR does just that, but the trade off is having the wear a headset or similar. Also, when inputting a flight plan into the MCDU, and having the ND displayed to check the routing, as soon as one looks up even slightly to see this on the ND, one can no longer use the LSKs with any accuracy as the view will move according ones very small head movement. It’s a waste of cash IMHO. Probably better suited to shoot em up games, but for the serious simmer working vatsim, it’s a disaster when having to operate the MCP according to instructions received from ATC.

    In my experience the Tobi 5 is way too sensitive to use when flying in any cockpit in MSFS. (DCS is slightly better).
    It’s ok to use on the ground when taxing to check for traffic either left or right.
    Just disappointed the main flaw which was not mentioned (and is hardly ever mentioned by You Tube reviews including this one) is that when you turn your head you to look left or right you are no longer looking at your monitor, but across your real world flight simming room!
    My Tobi 5 is switched off 95% of time so I would not recommend… even with the discount.

      I didn't end up looking away from the monitor at all, but did need to play with the MSFS settings.

    I am always watching your livestreams but if I watch carefully, you are using the mouse to change the views in those streams? I do not see the smooth movement as in this video. So, are you really using it? It looks awesome and may be just what I need, but most who post this "sale" do not seem to use it during streams. Could you elaborate on that?

    • @Easyjetsimpilot
      @Easyjetsimpilot  7 месяцев назад +2

      Certainly. As stated in the video, I only really use it for GA flying. As Airliner flying is what we usually stream, then it's not often used. Plus, as I've also said on stream, I have 2 monitors which has MSFS on one, then all my stream info and chat on the other. My eyes are always constantly looking between the two screens and my ipad for charts... So again, it's not practical when streaming.

    I bought Tobi and sent it back. Too inaccurate and the eye tracking is pointless. Trackir works best for me.
