This is a good, professional, "I can watch it in front of the family without little kids having to learn new vocabulary" kind of an educational experience. Been working on cars since I was 12, and I'm in my mid 50s now, and didn't know this machine existed or how to use it! THANK YOU!!!
Nicely done, great machine I've had to use a torch sometimes when I didn't have the machine handy too many people on the internet trying to show people how to do things when they don't know what there doing
This is a Sunnen rod heater. Goodson.com sells rod heaters as well. They can be kinda pricey for what they are. Sometimes you can find good deals on them.
I stager mine. Put one on the burner, wait a minite and then put another in. Minute go by and assemble first rod and put another in and minute later assemble next rod. Takes 9 minutes if I don't fumble lol
He did a really mumbo jumbo answer for something simple. The chamfer goes toward the crank and the flat goes toward the other rod on the journal. So the chamfer on piston one would face the front of the engine and the chamfer on piston two would face the rear of the engine. Repeat for the remaining six. Odd numbers chamfer forward, even rearward.

LOVE YOUR VIDEO👍👍👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️LOVED YOUR PROCEDURE 👍👍👍👍👍LOVED YOUR EQUIPMENT 👍👍👍👍👍👍
So rods are fixed to the piston pins? If so, angle should matter a lot, right?
Awesome video. Thank you! Subbed. 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks dude.really helpful
For people doing this out in the woods what temperature would the small end be when it's ready to install.
really cool!
What would the temperature be when it comes out of the heater? Really enjoyed your video…it showed me a lot. 👍🏻
I'm getting my new pistons put on today.i sure dont mind spending a bit to have it done right.
Hello!
Did you measure a temperature of connecting rod's head after heating?
Does centering the rod on the pin matter ?
How much time required for heating small end ?
I always leave them in for 2 mins
Does rotating assembly need a rebalance when changing stock pistons to new flat tops
If you weight match the new pistons to what the old ones weigh you won't need to.
I want to buy this machine...plz suggest the place where I buy this one..

I didn't understand about the chamfer part.
The chamfer on the rod goes toward the radius on the crank journals. One side of the rod has a bigger radius than the other side.

Now, that is a really clear answer. Thanks!@@michaeldose2041

Your explanation on how to set your wrist pin made absolutely zero sense.
