That solo part with the electronic Flute thing is something you don't hear anywhere! I love this and it's perfect for this song
I love Elton John and Billy Joel but you can keep them both if I get this guy! Bruce is really something special. I really love this one for its relentless energy. Its funkier than the other stuff he's done....and nobody seems to know it so its always fresh.

@Bruce Hornsby Official I have to admit that your music Bruce moves me more than any musician I have listened to and I listen to all all different kinds of music.
I'm 48 and your music was as good as any when I grew up since I liked them all in the 80's and 90'S....including rap,, hard rock,, etc., but today you blow away Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Prince ), etc....it's no comparison when I listen to all of them while working around the house, driving in my car, etc.
Something about your honest soul touching lyrics, beat, harmony and voice that makes your music #1 by far in my books and many others agree with me.

The studio version of this is very well done. It's from the album halcyon days and worth a listen because it is perfectly produced. There are tons of layers to this piece that got layered in the studio in a way that's hard to get in real time. But of course you can't match a live performance for the energy and the crowds input!

So true. Rock music is by nature going to be very guitar driven. Piano fits in there for sure but if you are leading a piano driven rock band, or genre fluid band playing rock songs, then you and your guitarists have to work well together.
