Im Seeing more and more cars that shut down the power to an open circuit. Injectors and bulb circuit are really common. Can easily send you down a rabbit hole chaising a failed power or ground when it's just a blown bulb. Nice 1 peter
A very useful comment. I have an intermittent fault with the heater blower on my expert 2. Works sometimes, then cuts off. Changed the hvac control panel, resistor and still the same. Wondering if it's the blower motor itself.
Exactly what i was looking for thanks! I've just bought a 2nd hand Partner but when the heating is on, its emitting an annoying vibration sound, like a fast ticking sound. It doesn't speed up when I turn the heater up faster though, it remains constant. I know the sound shouldn't be there because it doesn't occur at all on an identical van I also drive. Question: is there anything else in the heating system that could be causing it, before I change the motor unnecessarily? Thanks a lot !
@@tuberzone8667 one of the blower motors has a large hole in the body for climate control. It can be blocked if needed but is most likely easier get the correct part 😉👍👍
Brilliant Peter….cars are crackers..so even though the motor had died it was still supplying power..hence you light indicator worked but once you created an open circuit no power to the motor…so here’s a wonder…if you’d cycled the power on and off and then tested would the light indicator have lit? 🤪🤔 could this be a chicken egg situation 😂🫣
I actually don’t know the answer to that Damien. As you are most likely aware, all manufacturers do things differently and boy do some cars do funny stuff. On a Subaru recently & I could erase faults in Subaru but fault wouldn’t erase until I went into EODB first. Then back into Subaru & erased them again. Cars 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Hi David, the blower motor speeds are controlled by the switch and then the 3 different resistors in the resistor pack. The 1st thing I need to ask is did you fit a new resistor pack & if so was it from a reputable supplier or china ??? If you are happy with the quality of the component fitted the test the switch and wiring integrity from the switch at the resistor pack with a test light as I do in my video 😉👍👍👍
Hi Paudraig, I have seen your message on my business page. But was going to reply on Monday. We do a DPF initial assessment to find out exactly what is happening with your van. I would suggest that the differential pressure sensor has to be fixed anyway and then see what happens 🤔🤔🤔
@@kennedysgarage3281 I am getting the plug put on the dpf sensor on Tuesday and see what will happen if does not work I’ll be down to you to see what’s going on

That is very true Chris & you always have to keep that in mind when on these yokes. My brain sometimes sticks with 2 wires & a switch 😂😂😂

Great idea to use the test light, never thought of that before, great video keep em coming
A test light is a great bit of kit for completing a circuit again. Saves buying a not needed part. Cheers Tony 😉👍👍👍
Nice little video Peter very useful information
Straight forward and to the point. Thanks Kevin 🙏🙏🙏👍
Nicely done Peter 👍
Simple, but sometimes the simplest video’s do well 😉👍👍
Very nice job Peter. Bien joué as they say in France.
I don’t know what that means Michael but it sounds good 😂😂😂😂👍
@@kennedysgarage3281 It is. It means Well done 😊

I’ll have to brush up on my French 😂😂
Nice one peter nice and short stright to the point.
It might come in handy for the general public if there blower stops 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks buddy, very useful 🤙
Cheers mate, hopefully it helps 🙏🙏
Think these only let the fan work with the engine running , needs to see alternator voltage input ?
Ooooh, interesting Peter 😉👍👍

I’d say you are correct in the motor being faulty. It sounds like the fan blades might be broken or damaged. It is easy to remove and check before 🤞🤞🤞
Mine went recently. Resistet went first but now the blower. Handy video to have at hand
Simple but handy, the blower motor is normally on the glove box side. So it’s nice to know where it is beforehand 👍🙏🙏🙏

strange to see the heater fan on drivers side.👍💯
That was the main reason I started to record, anything a bit strange 😉👍👍
For anyone that doesn’t have a 5.5mm socket but has an imperial set, 7/32in fits just fine.
That’s handy information 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the help 😊
Hopefully it helped 🤞🤞🤞
Hi mate great video by the way , when I try to order one it's says with or without Aircon ? What's the difference everything looks the same
