the greatest thing about pudzianowski is that he weighed max 140kg in competition but he was jacked, his weight was more humane unlike savickas who was 200kg the heaviest during contest. he had much better pound for pound for strength so no wonder he won 5 titles. eddie thinks hes the best when a guy like mariusz obviously has dominated for 10 years with his worst performance being 4th. its no coincidence he has 5 titles

Welcome newbie (to the world of strongest man). Zydrunas started back in 2000. Pudzianowski started winning "World's strongest man" in 2001 with his first win. Over next 8 years, Mariusz Pudzianowski won the world's strongest man 6 times defeating Zydrunas in every single one of those competitions. There was only once when Zydrunas was able to defeat Mariusz Pudzianowski and then Mariusz retired. Zydrunas has won the title only 3 times yet (Mariusz had 6 times) and because Mariusz retired.
They mainly wear them to save joints, stop friction burns and stop tendons being ripped off the bone. All they do is take some of the weight (very little) off the joints and put it somewhere else on their body. For example (wrist straps) stops skin tearing and blistering on palms, and transfers weight from fingers an wrist to arms. Imagine lifting a 1000lbs that's 200lb per finger a wrist strap is like adding another 2 fingers 143lbs per finger. But his forearms and biceps are still lifting th

This guy is a legend, but this sport level up this last decade and now nobody can win under 190kg bodyweight. So we can't compare early 2000' athletes with late 2010' athletes.

I am 1/4 polish, and Mariusz in my opinion is the best WSM athlete. Look at the current 2011 championships, the guys have huge ammounts of fat Mariusz was pure muscle.
He does not take steroids he is just very well prepared he trained almost his entire life His secret which is not a big one is just he does everything in a warm up plus he also stated in his interview that a man cannot be only strong has to be fast and flexible that is why he also does yoga rides a bike and swims a lot Plus he won a Dancing competition in Poland
Kazmaier was banned from the contest for 5 years after a falling out with the promoters. Those 5 years were during his prime. Kazmaier also held a massive amount of lifting record.
His arms are surprisingly small, the most of his strength comes from that astonishing upper and middle body. Not to say that his arms weren't inhumanly strong as well
Kazmaier also wasn't invited to WSM for years because of a disagreement with the people that ran the show. Kazmaier definitely would have gotten up to 5. Who knows though because there was Capes and Jon Pall.

In 08 won by 5 with an injured calf that was said was going to prevent him from even finishing or placing .
