Stavanger, Alesund & Haugesund Ports | Norweigan Fjords | P&O Cruise Iona May 2024

- A cruise is one of the best ways to see the Norweigan Fjords, both on board the ship and on land during port days. Our P&O Iona cruise docked at Stavanger, Olden (separate vlog on the channel), Alesund, & Haugesund.
Stavanger - first port
We saw so many rib boats going out here and it seems like one of the best places to do it. Back on land, you can visit the three swords monument which is only a short bus ride away. The town itself is beautiful with lots of colourful buildings, small side streets, and a plethora of shops, bars and eateries.
Alesund - third port
The best way to see Alesund is from the top of Mount Aksla which you can either walk or drive up (the train tour takes you up there). From here you get a stunning view overlooking the town the the fjords and if the sun is out everything glitters.
Haugesund - fourth port
A short walk over the bridge takes you to a bustling town full of shops and cafes. If you want to see how Vikings lived in Norway, head to the Viking Experience. If you fancy stretching your legs, the coastal path is a lovely trail with great views that takes you all the way to the Rising Sculpture Park.
Each port had its own feel and experience so make sure you get off the ship to get a taste of Norway in these towns.

That brought back memories watching you walk to the rising tide as we did the same route. It was beautiful Scenery though and like you said it saved a lot of money x

Fabulous vlog. Great info. We love Norway. We always prefer to book excursions ourselves or do public transport. Saves so much money.
@TravellingLightLisa thank you 😊 I feel like there is a lot of scaring by cruise companies but everything in the ports was very straight forward and organised to book everything yourself! Will be doing that next time too 😊
On our visit to Norway I was hoping to get into the a forest to hunt for Trolls no luck however I swear that I saw the Kraken the giant octopus or was it the bottle of VIP Black Norwegian wine ha lets get saving up xxxx

@@wanderingadventures go to Norway more. So many fjords to see and the p&o Iceland and Norway cruise sounds right up my street. We looked at msc for next year maybe as they go to different ports.
Few of my friends have done the med and they all wished they done the fjords.
I like the concrete horses not going anywhere extra lottery ticket this week but in the meantime it as to be Norwegian Wood by the "Beatles" I love it xxx
They were cool especially as you can see where the water rises up to. If I win the lottery I'm going straight back to Norway 🇳🇴
