  • To be asked to play at a tribute concert for my father Keith Emerson at the Keith Emerson: A musical celebration of his life was an absolute honour, but to be asked to play 'Fanfare For The Common Man' with the fantastic Marc Bonilla, Travis Davis, Brett Morgan - Drummer , Terje Mikkelsen and the Keith Emerson Concert Orchestra was particually special for me. Firstly, I was named after Aaron Copland, and secondly, this piece of music has been the fanfare to my whole life. To have not only my wife and kids there, but also my mother, brother and niece, made it all the more special for me. The biggest thanks go to of course, Jim Davidson, without whom none of this would've been possible. Well done Jim - you did him proud! I hope I did a good job, and I know that dad would be chuffed to bits that I managed to pull it off...! --Aaron

I'm a 69 year old hard core ELP fan....mostly from the nose bleeding seats in a huge venue like Madison Square Garden....but once at a local club (Toads Place in CT) I stood 15 feet in front of your father and watched him play......you bring both joy and tears.....God bless you for following in your father's footsteps! He IS one of music's 3 outstanding performers of the 20th century!! THAN YOU VERY MUCH!

MorbidManMusic - At times it"s best to keep your comments (and mouth) to yourself. Proof of God's existence with our own eyes we don't have. You and I are both probably scientifically minded but we also are to take into consideration someone's theories until absolutely proven wrong, correct? Do you have any evidence of God and/or Heaven NOT existing? It's okay to be a non-believer in anything you care to be but without absolute proof of something one way or another, you can't ethically make statements like you did. That is NOT being scientific now, is it? You like what you like, let others BE FREE to like/believe what they want to. Remember this upload was to celebrate Keith's life and his wonderful contributions which made him who he was. It's subject matter and presence isn't a proper place to ridicule someone having beliefs differing from yours, IF there is a proper place for doing such regarding the matter since WE can neither prove or disprove it. Live and let live, brother. Peace.

Aaron can be seen appearing and waiting for his cue on the left backstage edge. He was obviously pumped and nervous. Little did he know he was in great company by an adoring ELP public. Excellent!
A little bit of trivia, Aaron was actually named for Aaron Copeland by his parents because of the love and music of Copeland. Aaron mentioned this during an interview with Render Media.

I met Aaron Emerson and his family in March in New Hampshire, USA.
Friendly gentleman, incredible amazing family. I cried a lot that night. I got a chance to tell Aaron how much his father, Keith meant to me.
Aaron's 13 year old son, Ethan is a child prodigy. A young gentleman.
Brilliant performance that night. At the end of the evening, just as we all leaving Aaron asked me why I carry around 2 stuffed otters ( but very real to me ) I told him it was a joke but thanks to the internet it became viral so I run with it. Aaron told otters were his father's favorite animal.
That was the perfect ending to a great night. I did not know this fact.

You did a great job indeed Aaron!!! Your father would have been proud!!! He was the most important composer of the 20th century in my opinion & what he could do with some of the other masters' works (Copland, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev to name a few) was genius in itself! I hope you & your family find some eventual peace of mind....your dad was also a wonderful person who I found humble & gracious upon meeting him. I've enjoyed watching these videos as I couldn't get over there to witness this in person. Very emotional & stirring and fitting a man of your father's stature!!!
