GlamFam I have a very serious question. I watch your videos all the time and I learn a lot. I'am thinking about enrolling in cosmetology school but I'm not a hair braider. I can't braid hair I'm not good at it . would I be wasting my time enrolling in Cosmetology classes ? any advice ?
+Black & Sassy you would be surprised at the amount of stylists that don't braid, it's not absolutely necessary, although I do feel like it's a good skill to have in your back pocket. So I would recommend at least having your basic braiding skills down. Just so you know, I have tutorials for overhand and underhand braiding as well if you are needing tutorials for beginners. In short, no, I don't think you would be wasting your time, but I also wouldn't allow "I'm not good at it" to cause you grief. You will find once you get in cosmetology school that there will be many things you aren't immediately good at it. With most things you will get better over time with practice. 👍🏽👍🏽
I love how you can actually see what you are doing.... I recently did box braids and loved them but wanna be very professional and this gave me what I needed! I wish u had actual classes.
Something as simple as splitting natural hair into three just blew my mind! I always joined the whole natural hair bit to the middle braid. Love this tutorial!
I love that you naturally explain the differences with straight and kinky hair with each step and how to deal with those different hair types at that point. You’re a grade A tutor mate! Well done 👍🏼
I really appreciate you,my brother.I'm braiding my mother's hair and yesterday I didn't know what I was doing...her hair looked shocked. It looks good today thanks to you and she thanks you also.Being a black man braiding hair makes me feel great, bro
This is by far thee best tutorial video for adding weave while braiding!! OMG Thank you so much!!!! I've finally figured it out! I've been searching for these answers in other videos for so many years but, never found them. You're amazing! Please keep doing what you're doing. You're very talented and you're a wonderful instructor.
I'm mixed but have very silky hair. Thick hair, tight curls but my hair is just really naturally silky. NONE of the rubber band methods work on me (except the crochet rubber band method, kind of)! I'm so glad I found this video because I've been dying to put my hair in braids lately but can't go anywhere because of the virus. Thanks so much for such clear and simple instructions! This looks 100x easier than other ways I've seen it.
I really like the way you break you it down ive seen so many tutorials but your teaching skills outshine any ive seen. Thank you for teaching me this technique :)
Thank you so much for the zooming! Makes it way better! And your voice is so soothing and it helps me not stay frustrated. I love how you do this step by step. Definitely helped me learn how to box braid. Thank you! :)
The detail of your videos are so great you have to be a teacher, you are a blessing to this kitchen stylist lol. I appreciate your videos they are helpful keep up the good work
I think out of ALL the 100's of videos I have watched on hair braiding you have most definitely put it in the easiest form step by step all of the way! Thank you
I've watched so many videos on this and I have to say yours I'd the best as far as getting your point across and making your statement. I love your technique! Definitely subscribing!
This honestly was the easiest tutorial of all. I watched SO many tutorials & they never helped me as much as you did. They always said put your finger here, put your finger there, & it always confused me. Thank y you
Thank you so much for making such a detailed and truly beautiful tutorial. I can't wait to try this with my daughter. I've taught myself other braiding techniques, but have yet to try adding hair. This will save me a lot of money too. Here we go, fingers crossed :-)
Omg I so love your tutorials!!!! You don't know how much you've helped through my situation.. I was in a car accident almost 2weeks ago so an income is a must and your tutorials are a god send on helping learn different styles and techniques.. You are truly blessed.. Heaven sent seriously
+J Hill-Doss thank you so very much! That is heartwarming 😊 Know that we are praying for you! Praying for your recovery, for restoration of your financial predicament and for peace that passes all understanding! Be blessed dear!
I've been trying to help a friend learn to do this and I'm been awful at my explanations, lol..😩 Thanks to your fabulous teaching techniques she'll now be able to watch this video link and learn from THE BEST !!👏👏👍🏽👍🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Sending you Blessings of Love&Light, you're awesome !! 🙏🏽Namasté💙P
Thank you for explaining this so easily to follow! My biracial daughter wants extensions and I thought I was going to have to take her in for braids. Watching this, I feel confident enough to do them at home!
Finally found someone who actually show you how to stretch it AND how to separate the hair with yours BEFORE you braid!! I could never figure out why it kept slipping off now I know why....the close ups really help! #glamprofosho 💜😉
The braids are beautiful & easy to grasp the technique! I can't tell you how grateful I am to have met you & your family sorta kinda lol. I have learned so very much from you guys. You even taught my 9 yr old how to say baby heres lol! Lord help her lol. We're forever glamfam fans ❤
Your video is the first one that actually gave me a way to start the braid. I always have had problems with the hair sliding out and not having a way to secure the top. Thank you for explaining it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much!!!!! You made it sooo very easy! The easiest video I have ever seen!!!! You are rocking awesome!!!!!!! Love you to the moon and back!!!!!!!
I think that is the best video I have ever seen demonstrating this process. Finally I feel like I can actually learn how to braid weave. Thank you so much!!! Awesome Job 😃
I think you should do hair cutting tutorials as well P.S I’m a semi Cosmetologist just have to get the rest of my hours but I love watching your videos. I literally watch them everyday since I stumbled across your channel.
Thank you love! I have always been hesitant to post cutting videos for multiple reasons. #1.) I simply can’t afford to purchase enough mannequins for cutting tutorials on the channel. 2.) one of the primary areas of issue I see with all Cosmetology students seems to be cutting, even when I am standing there with them and going through it with incredible detail. I am cautious, as I will make it look easy, when it’s not as simple as it looks, and people who felt as though they could easily follow my instructions would mess up the cut and be lost on how exactly to fix it. I may do more cutting on here in the future, I am just cautious.
I have watched soo many video tryna learn how to do this and I never really understood how the people making the tutorials were doing it, but after watching this video, I am able to do it and understand. Thank you smm
I love watching your videos, your voice is so friendly and calming. And I was wondering if you had any strong feelings about white people wearing typically black hairstyles. Please be kind to me since I know this topic really pulls some choice words out of people sometimes.
+Ashley Chandler thank you dear! To be honest, I don't have any strong feelings about that, I am multicultural and I live in a very culturally diverse area. If anything, I like to see other cultures embracing customs and styles outside of their own. Excellent question!
I love looking at your videos. You have so much knowledge when it comes to hair. You are 1 of the few people that actually gives a real tutorial, because others don't want to "give up" their techniques or want others to learn because they scared someone is going to be better than them
So patient and instructional...thank you. Starting the braid is my challenge and you make it look so easy. Your braid is not lumpy or have that huge knot at the top. It's almost impossible to tell that hair was added--which is a true talent. Some braider's knots are humongous--not a good look to me. This has become my "go to" tutorial.
I like the way you teach, however, I have trouble with starting the brad off. If I can get that part I'll be good to go. Practice makes perfect, right!
best video yet i was missing the step about wrapping it around ur finger my grip has gotten so much better i watched so many videos and never picked up that part!
I know this is a old video but I’m 10 and I wanna start braiding early because I’m about to turn 11 and you are the only person that has helped me over the million videos I’ve watched thx soooooo much ❤️😘
+Ran Tut thanks! Well, there are a lot of "split end menders" on the market, but they don't work. To be honest with you, the only way to get rid of split ends is by trimming them. BUT you can make a few changes to help prevent them from being as excessive. First, use a quality moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Dry hair is more prone to breakage, and breakage is one of the main causes of split ends. You can start sleeping on satin or silk, those fabrics are less absorbent, so they don't take moisture from your hair and skin. You can sleep with a satin scarf, bonnet, or pillow case...or if you are a wild sleeper like me, satin sheets will do the trick. Limit the amount of heat you use on your hair. There are many ways to preserve hairstyles, or style with minimal heat, to lessen damage and dryness. When your hair is wet, be gentle with it. When hair is wet, it's at its weakest point, which means it's more prone to breakage. When detangling wet hair, use a paddle brush like a Denman brush or the Wet hair brush. They both are sturdy, yet have soft enough bristles to detangle, without ripping through tangled hair. I hope those tips help you out! I know it is a lot to digest at one time! Thank you so much for watching!
Damn best explanation, demonstration I have seen on RUclips. I have looked at so many videos and they all pale in comparison hours. Thank you so much for this, now Instead of my daughter taking my granddaughter to get her hair braided I can do it. ❤️❤️
That varies on your experience, how thick the client wants the braids, and how thick the clients natural hair is. For some clients I use 2 bags, for others I use up to 7.
Omg I tried this in my daughter for the first time and it took me 12 hours to finish!! I was miserable. My fingers were cramping and I wa so tired lol.
can you show us how to do an upside down braided bun, I have tried and actually succeed once but it wasn't tight enough and start coming undone at the bottom. 🙂
Damn y'all swear to God you didn't know what he meant. He said braiding w/ weave, big deal you saw a damn braid in the video and heard him say he's gonna braid w/ braiding hair and you know what a braid is
+Manessah Evans lol! Thank you boo! I promise some people watch just to see what can make them mad. Acting like "You missed a spot where the floor was mopped in the background" and stuff lol. I appreciate you watching dear!
Wow! Finally found a video that explains in detail and I can actually see. You did an amazing job. Well done. I'll definitely check out more videos once I get this technique done. I'm doing a crochet hairstyle today so I may check to see if you have any videos on that. But again thank you for this video. There's other good videos but yours is the best! Thx 👍
Thank you so much for your tutorials. They have taught me so much. You are the only one that I can actually learn from and retain the information given. Plus my daughter loves the braids that I learn from you so Thanks again!💗
+Chloe excellent question! I actually refer to them as extensions myself, but they are widely referred to as weave among most people. In short, the video is entitled that because "weave" is searched more frequently than "extensions." Although, if you are doing this for a living, I would advise that you call them extensions, no matter if they are on a weft or not. It's a more professional term, and people will naturally pay you more for "extensions," than "weave." Thanks for watching!
GlamFam ohh, I never knew that! Im not a professional but I want to get better at taking care of and doing my own hair! That's pretty smart! Another question; is Xpression the same as Kanekalon hair? If not, what is the difference and which is better for afro hair (I'm transitioning so I don't know what hair type I am)? Thanks for uploading!
+mdotschrody thank you very much! I really appreciate it! I'm sure someone would let you in their head! You just have to find the right person who isn't really a hair person! Usually they will let you practice on them, and because they aren't hair people, they are typically easy to please! Lol thank you so much for watching!
+Ronaldaye Ramroop I'm doing well! I am moving houses at the moment so stress levels are a little up there with the transition process, BUT I am doing quite well! Thank you for asking!
What products do you recommend to achieve a full head of box braids? I've used gels in the past but can seem to find anything that will keep edges gripped.
+donisa808 that's fantastic news! I'm ecstatic to hear that! Great job staying consistent with the practice as well! It definitely pays off! Thanks for watching dear!
+donisa808 with box braids, I don't tend to use a ton of product. Every now and then I will use Xtreme's clear gel for added hold, but edges have never really cut up too bad for me.
This video was sooooo helpful. I’m trying to learn how to do box braids on my own hair. I already know how to do single braids w/o extensions so I’ve been learning how to add hair. This by far is one of the best videos. Very comprehensive, straight to the point, and you make it very simple. I’ll update when I try to do my hair sometime soon. Thank you!

Damn best explanation, demonstration I have seen on RUclips. I have looked at so many videos and they all pale in comparison hours. Thank you so much for this, now Instead of my daughter taking my granddaughter to get her hair braided I can do it. ❤️❤️
How many packs do you need??
That varies on your experience, how thick the client wants the braids, and how thick the clients natural hair is. For some clients I use 2 bags, for others I use up to 7.
My hair making journey has gotten a whole lot better since I found you. Thanks for doing what you do
Omg I tried this in my daughter for the first time and it took me 12 hours to finish!! I was miserable. My fingers were cramping and I wa so tired lol.
omg you taught me to braid in like 5 minutes........ you are a life saver 👐👐👐👏👏👏
+Candice Danage aww thank you!
can you show us how to do an upside down braided bun, I have tried and actually succeed once but it wasn't tight enough and start coming undone at the bottom. 🙂
+Moonie Kiss I'll see what I can put together for you! Thanks for your request!!
This is actually the best video I have seen on how to braid hair

You are so awesome. I have been watching your videos so I can learn how to box braid clients. You have helped sooo much!
I was gonna leave a bad review until i remembered, the video is backwards so I tried it again and I DID IT!!! THANK U SO MUCH!!

I thought these were called extensions and weave was hair attached to a weft or something?
+Chloe excellent question! I actually refer to them as extensions myself, but they are widely referred to as weave among most people. In short, the video is entitled that because "weave" is searched more frequently than "extensions."
Although, if you are doing this for a living, I would advise that you call them extensions, no matter if they are on a weft or not. It's a more professional term, and people will naturally pay you more for "extensions," than "weave."
Thanks for watching!
+Chloe Xpression hair is usually kanekalon, yes. So it's rather versatile
Chloe "ok google"....
no white ppl call it extension and blacks weave...same thing
Now I have the confidence to do this .you are very patient and a good teacher!
Thanks really helpful
+Rosalynn Barnes my pleasure dear! Thanks for watching!
You have the best videos. I feel like I could totally do the styles after watching you- not that anybody would let me do their hair lol.
+mdotschrody thank you very much! I really appreciate it! I'm sure someone would let you in their head! You just have to find the right person who isn't really a hair person! Usually they will let you practice on them, and because they aren't hair people, they are typically easy to please!
Lol thank you so much for watching!
morning GlamFab
+Ronaldaye Ramroop GOOD MORNING!! 😃
How are you?
good how are you
+Ronaldaye Ramroop I'm doing well! I am moving houses at the moment so stress levels are a little up there with the transition process, BUT I am doing quite well! Thank you for asking!
hope it goes well
+Ronaldaye Ramroop thank you! I'm certain it will, we are just busy with all the details at the moment. 😊
Best tutorial on RUclips. Thank you soooo much!!
+Mikea Terredanio thank you! It's my pleasure! 👍🏽👍🏽
I have been practicing this for 3 months now and your video helped me perfect this technique😀 THANK YOU SO MUCH!❤❤❤ Love your videos
Thank you. Will try it out.
+donisa808 my pleasure!
By far the best step by step and it seems easy enough to get!! Thank you
as soon as the video started I loved your energy 🥺💓 thank you for this
This video was sooooo helpful. Thank you!
