I appreciate you just letting the camera roll and let us watch the peace and calm(ok..sometimes not so peaceful or calm) of just sailing as it appears just as you see it.
I really enjoy the authenticity of this channel. Let me know if you’re ever in Annapolis or St. Michael’s MD for a free (nice) place to stay with a free dock to tie up.
you guys do the best sailing atmosphere ever. just loong still shots, leave it on, original sound of the water, i feel like I am aboard. fantastic work.
ciao Sailing Beaver, i got also "the big one" pt.2, quietly, cheering up🍷 to yr Equator as well with my nice red wine! So far so good. Keep on sailing wisely. To you my dear 3 guys, cheers 🍻🍻🍻and, as ever, Fair Winds ⛵
I must admit that I was a little worried about you guys- 32 days deep & getting a little tired of each other & cramped living spaces. However, the crossing the equator party was a complete & total win for emotional release. Silly, involves alcohol (not normal in passages for excellent reasons) & set aside as it's own 'moment'- I'm unsure if viewers understand the need for these breaks. But, I DO, and I know that it allows for a mental breather (Yes, I could see the stress building) & all were genuinely more relaxed in the days afterwards. Mankie jokes are fun, living in total chaos down below is stressful and having a trip divider literally allows for fresh perspectives. 40 days at sea is no small trip, nor is 4,000 nm. Thankfully, you (both) are strong mentally, your crew is well internally oriented (noted: time separated) & no-one seems to have unwound or got tightly bundled...so far. Super human focus & relaxed approach is paying dividends. Once again, like your boat build up, I am very impressed. She's still together, no horror stories, batteries are mostly unburdened, all equipment is holding up- really, much to praise & little to stress specifically over. I'm glad the rig was tuned just prior to sailing- still quiet after 32 days at sea!
Thank you sir for the kind words and close attention to detail! Yes your correct, the space is tight and a long crossing like this gets repetitive but lots of small ups and downs to break it up. The equator crossing was great and thankful to have many calms days to enjoy the experience. Take care and stay tuned for the next one 🤙
Great video. I carry a set of jumper cables that will reach from the house bank to the starter battery. In the future I will also carry a battery jumper, the kind that road assistance companies use to start your car when the battery is dead. One charges it with the inverter. A good one will start a 7 liter diesel engine, so a marine diesel in a sailboat should be quite easy. It is the "belt and suspenders" approach.
I don't know how far the publication date is from real time. I know you make it safe because I am watching the vid. Where were you when Tonga exploded?
I didn't see part 1, so apologies if you have shown this in that video. How many staterooms does your oceanis 40 have? It would be great if you could show pictures of what it looks like below deck. I'm a big fan. It's so impressive what you are doing in a 40-footer with three people!! David
Thanks for joining us David and glad you enjoy the video. We have 3 double cabins down below. We give a boat tour in this video if your interested ruclips.net/video/eOHP75uBf5A/видео.html
Noco gb40 jumpstarter (or one like it) saves a lot of hassle connecting to a battery somewhere else on the boat... and you can solar charge it as needed.
I was so relieved when I heard the engine start with the thruster battery! I also have an OC40 and it has a connection between the +ve house batteries to the starter battery which is activated by a key switch underneath the main battery switches. Guess this was retrofitted by the previous owner if yours does not have this fitted...?
Us too, we were running out of options so it was a big relief. Although we don’t have this active between the house bank to the starter that’s a very good idea to have a simple redundancy. Cheers 🤙
Really tremendous sailing footage! Did ya ever figure out where the mystery helicopter was from? Also how do you guy's break up your night watch? As always thanx for the share!
Well done guys, massive milestone and achievement passing the equator (I clapped for you as its a massive thing to accomplish). Looking forward to the next one....ps loved that you were watching adventures of an old sea dog, been watching him from the start and his crossing of the equator was really emotional. Well done.
Thankyou sir! Cheers for clapping us across the line, was a great experience. We watched a few of his episodes our crossing when the weather was nice. 🤙 fair winds
Hi there. Just come across your channel recently and am really enjoying your story & style. It actually coincided with me listening to an audible book being read by a Chris Stanmore-Major (The Mariner & Rare Nautical Reads) about a very similar voyage. The book was by a John Caldwell, titled, ‘Desperate Voyage’ and published back in 1949. Might be worth a read/listen, as you will appreciate what he achieved, having completed virtually the same passage.
This is wonderful... love your channel so far. I've wanted to cruise like this for so many years... since I was a kid. I've found over the last year I've discovered new sailing vlogs almost daily. Does every cruiser have one now? When you arrive in harbors around the world, and meet other sailors, are they all RUclipsrs?
Hi deb! The engine battery completely died on us and we were unable to get it started again so we had to replace it with the two batteries we had for the thruster in the front cabin. That way we managed to start the engine again 👍
Love how you keep the music,( which is great), at minimum and give the natural sounds of the boat and the sea as it actually is. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I appreciate you just letting the camera roll and let us watch the peace and calm(ok..sometimes not so peaceful or calm) of just sailing as it appears just as you see it.
Matt. Search Tick Stick on RUclips. It’ll help a lot with your cabinet projects when dealing with all the curves on the boat

Thank you so much mate for the comment and kind offer mate! We will definitely keep that in mind if we head that way in the future! Take care
A sailing channel with ACTUAL SAILING! Yay!

Happy Valentines, keep safe always and Happy sailing!
Cheers and fair winds 🤙
Of all the private sailing vessels I've seen make this long passage, yours is by far the most squared away and ship shape!
Thank you kind sir. Fair winds 🤙

Rose a toll is a protected a toll, the 3 of you should sail around it and check out and maybe do a little snorkeling, know you will love it!
Cheers 🤙

Excellent vidio you keep it real have a safe voyage

Just think of ALL the castaways that have drifted that route praying for fresh water - manna from Heaven!
You two are no doubt wandering hearts that found each other as soul mates!

Thank you sir. It’s a good idea and we also do the same now. Not a big purchase but can really help out in this situation.
The seas look so relatively calm. Just a little rolling. Have you encountered any choppy seas over 4 feet.
Love watching. So pro!
Cheers and glad you enjoy. Mostly the pacific was calm except for a day or two departing Panama when the wind was strong.

Really enjoy watching your channel, the quality of your vlogs is fabulous and so well narrated too, enjoy your travels, fair winds and following seas.
Thanks for this kind comment and glad you enjoy. Fair winds 🤙

Lovely episode. Thank you for sharing. First time viewing. 💕
Thanks for watching😊

Thank you so much! Heaps more to come😊
Noco gb40 jumpstarter (or one like it) saves a lot of hassle connecting to a battery somewhere else on the boat... and you can solar charge it as needed.
That is a great idea, thanks we will look into that! We should at least have had jumper leads onboard🤦♀️
Great sail! Congrats on the equator crossing, awesome celebration!
Cheers and glad you enjoy. 🤙
35 min 35 sec of 110% completely awesomness! Jeg vil også seile stillehavet! :)
Tusen takk! Definitivt en opplevelse for livet!
Very entertaining and educational as usual! Thanks.
Cheers for tuning in and thank you 🤙
@@SailingBeaver love you guys!
Enjoyed, thanks..
An exciting journey to watch. A very long trip. I hope you guys downloaded some Netflix movies before you left port. LOL!
Cheers, we had plenty of podcasts, books and movies 😊
Great video, but I did wince at 17:00. Never, never, never go near the prop when the engine is running, even out of gear.
Thankyou sir. Yeah your right, we thought that when editing the footage, but we were checking for vibration and wanted it running.
Thank you for sharing your adventure!
Cheers, enjoy 🤙
Excellent 👏👍🏻
Yew cheers 🤙

Awesome so glad you enjoy it! Cheers for the comment!

Thanks mate! No we never found out, but must have been off a ship as we were so far out at sea. With the three of us we did 4 on 8 off😊
Fishin vessels use helicopters to find fish. Not unusual to see them in the Pacific. Most sailors will encounter them.

Welcome aboard mate! Yeah not far from it! haha😁
man I really wanted to see how the sourdough bread turned out.
When the US Navy crossed the Equator in WW2, they would play Dixie on the PA system.
Hey nice, Beaver!
Thanks Sausage🤙🏼
Did you sort out the reason that starter battery was flat? Sick battery or faulty charging?
Was getting good charge voltage but we think it just died. About 5 years old. No issues since replacing.
Sehr Schön liebe grüsse Aus Deutchland
Danke🙏🏻
So nice video. are you happy with your choice of boat?
Thanks and glad you enjoy. She’s a mighty fine vessel and ver happy with it.
May I ask what the tattoo on the right forefinger signifies?
I must have missed why you were not charging and how you fixed it.
