I love how you give your movie space to breathe and move along at its own pace. The sounds of sailing are so important and you capture that in a deeply satisfying way.
I feel like jumping into the boat and immersing myself in the wildness of nature. Most people have never been naked in the wilderness under life threatening conditions. But, in all the chaos, is beauty, beyond imagination.
Thank you for allowing me a Sunday afternoon on the mid coast of Maine laying in my bed taking a respite from the woes of the world 🌎 and couldn't think of nicer people to make the passage with.
Just discovered your channel. Really appreciate the lack of nonsense and the focus on actual sailing, great sailing sounds and sights, mellow music that doesn't take away from the experience. I'll be joining all you sailors on the ocean in the years to come. Cheers.
What an epic trip. I can only imagine how you would all have felt. I must say you always have a cultured boat. It's the little things that make the trip comfortable. Good on you 👏
Magnificent, a real immersion in your crossing, which allows the escape of the spirit according to the swell and the wind, it brings back memories of past crossings, thank you and good wind.
I enjoy watching your progress in all things sailing. Your straight forward honesty and humility as you continue is refreshing and I hope you never become the know it all sailors like so many other cruisers have become. Thanks for sharing this part of your dream with us so we to can experience it also. Have you figured out the reason for the starter battery being dead. Magic Carpet did their last video with a Naval architect he was very interesting as he broke down all the benefits of each of the type of batteries what they can and can not do. I thought of you guy’s while I was watching it. Please don’t change this is the good stuff of life.
Thanks so much for this comment it’s a pleasure to read. We’re still learning everything ourselves so no risk of heading the way you describe. The battery was approx 5 years old and simple Lead-acid only charging off a dumb charge alternator so we guess it just died out but not sure. Thanks for following along, take care 🤙
Congratulations and thanks for the amazing videography - lots of sailing shots which is awesome. Also I love the obsession with boat speed - I am exactly the same…
Congrats on safely crossing 4,000nm's of open ocean & getting 1mm views of your videos to boot! What an amazing trip from Norway to the Marquesas! Great job outfitting her for the journey, maintaining her in transit (she could use a good hull scrub now though!) and keeping your head together on a mind numbing trip of endless horizon, varying winds & seas and seemingly endless sail changes. I can't imagine that SV Beaver will much more than say 5 knots today (as you arrive at the Southern tip of the Marquesas) regardless of wind, sea state or desire based on the upside down garden growing below! Welcome back to land, you must feel like a million bux (or views?)!!! Good on Ya!
Wow thank you so much for your lovely comment David! It means a lot to us! It sure has been a great trip, and we are pretty stoked to have made it this far! Haha yeah she was getting very slow towards the end of that trip with all the growth below, don't think we have ever seen her that grotty ever and she was definitely due for a big scrub. Thanks again for watching mate and your kind words! Take care

Your videos are so informative and entertaining at the same time. Very nice job, very well done. My wife and I are new to sailing and these videos have be so helpful. Thank you
The saga of the HMS Bounty is one of the most fascinating stories ever told. The skills (and a fair bit of luck) it took for Bligh to get his crew safely to Timor with only one man lost - just unbelievable. Definitely worth reading. I’m now caught up with all your videos. Which means you should be at a million and sixteen total views by now ;-). Spectacular adventure well-told/documented. Congratulations on all your accomplishments thus far.
Great video, remembering what it was like from our circumnavigation in the 1980s, presently cruising the Bahamas. My wife's book is a good read, published by Austin Macauley of New York, literally a fictional story of sailing and adventure: "Seychelle and the Cannabis Yachties". It is very entertaining, hoping you will give it a read.
So Epic!!! You should be so proud. The whole journey and the documentary is a testament to you both. Yewwwwwww I just wish I was there on that one ❤️😎🍻

how y solved the battery problem in the long run? running the engine a few hours a day?
We replaced the engine start battery once we reached land. When the engine died we had been running the engine for over 12 hours.
Trying to fish some Dorado? The line looked slack - no bait on maybe...
We did get some Dorado earlier in the crossing but toward the end we were chasing tuna without luck.
Can you use the boom as a pole for the kite (while using the real pole for the job)?
